Gucci Marguerite Jade, The Painted Veil, Mildred Rosewood Sheer Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Marguerite Jade (110)
Gucci Beauty Maguerite Jade (110) Sheer Lipstick ($42.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a light-medium, caramel brown with warm undertones and a natural sheen. It had sheer color coverage, which enabled a lot of my natural lip color to come through; the end result looked redder than I’d expect based on the color it swatched, so it may look quite different depending on one’s natural lip color.
The consistency was lightweight, thin but not clingy, and comfortable to apply and to wear. It went on fairly evenly, and while it wasn’t noticeable in person, there was a touch of product in my deeper lip lines that was barely visible in the close-up photos. This shade stayed on well for three and a half hours and felt lightly hydrating overall.

Formula Overview
$42.00/0.12 oz. - $350.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be "moisture-rich" with a "luminous shine" that "delivers sheer color." The brand went further and described the coverage as "semitransparent color with luminous shine." The shades had semi-sheer to medium coverage, often slightly buildable, so it was enough pigment to look like something when applied but definitely let the natural lip color come through (so your mileage may vary if you have more pigmented lips than I do).
The texture was lightweight, thin but not clingy, and had a light creaminess to it; the formula didn't feel as luminous as it looked, which was a good thing as it prevented the product from sliding around too readily. The most impressive part was that most shades applied evenly and didn't settle into my lip lines initially nor over time. The wear time was as expected, but it was shorter than more pigmented and less shiny formulas; most shades lasted between three and four hours. The formula felt lightly hydrating but not what I'd call "moisture-rich."
They have a moderate, sweet floral scent (the brand says "floral fragrance with violet notes and a soft, fruity scent"), and I felt like I occasionally could taste the fragrance, though it was a lot less noticeable and present compared to Gucci's original lipstick range (many years ago). I could definitely smell the scent with the product applied, so it was stronger than some formulas where the scent is only noticeable in the packaging/tube.

The Painted Veil (201)
Gucci Beauty The Painted Veil (201) Sheer Lipstick ($42.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark coral with strong, warm orange undertones and a natural sheen. It had medium color payoff that applied evenly and fluidly across my lips without tugging.
The color was buildable to more semi-opaque coverage, and it had more of a cream-look to it compared to most of the range, which tended to look more like a lip stain. The consistency was lightweight, balmy without being too slippery, and easy to work with. This shade wore nicely for four hours and felt lightly moisturizing over time.

Mildred Rosewood (203)
Gucci Beauty Mildred Rosewood (203) Sheer Lipstick ($42.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a muted, dusty plum with warm, red undertones and a natural sheen. It had sheer to semi-sheer color payoff in a single stroke, which adhered evenly to my lips and didn’t emphasize my lip lines. The texture felt lightweight, thin but not clingy, and had enough slip to glide on but didn’t feel overly emollient while worn. It lasted well for three and a half hours and felt lightly hydrating while worn.

The Painted Veil looks beautiful! Just share enough to give it that lucent look, yet it still has enough coverage for my unevenly pigmented lips.
Mildred Rosewood also looks lovely for a more plummy take.
These lipsticks are so gorgeous, and the packaging is amazing. I saw them in person a few weeks ago at Valley Fair in SJ, and they are so impressive to look at. That said, they do not interest me at all.
The shades look quite vibrant in the lipstick, but far more muted on the lips. I am finding that I am not fussed about sheer lipsticks. I loved the look of the Marguerite Jade shade, but it looked such a different shade when you were wearing it Christine. My lip chemistry is so weird that I couldn’t predict what it would look like on me.
I’m just not feeling these shades done sheer.
