Holiday 2017

Givenchy Holiday 2017 Le Rouge Mini Duo ($25.00 for 0.08 oz.) contains two, miniature-sized Le Rouge lipsticks in shades that can be purchased individually from the permanent line-up. It was available earlier this week, but the recent sale seems to have decimated stock on the lip sets this holiday season… I’m not sure if this particular set is available in stores or not, but both shades can be purchased on their own. As far as mini lipsticks go, these felt particularly cheap and lightweight with a very short bullet, and I felt like they had more slip and less pigmented compared to their full-sized versions.

Value

Le Rouge retails for $36.00 and contains 0.12 oz. or costs $300.00/oz. The set retails for $25.00 and contains 0.08 oz. It contains $24.00 worth of product.

Rose Dressing (202)

Rose Dressing (202) is a bright, medium pink-coral with warm undertones and a cream finish. It had good pigmentation with a moderately emollient consistency that glided across my lips comfortable but sank into my lip lines and appeared a bit streaky. I felt like it had a lot more slip and was less flattering on the lips compared to my full-sized tube. It wore well for four hours and was hydrating over time.

Formula Overview

$36.00/0.12 oz. - $300.00 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have "intense color" with a "semimatte finish." Most shades are opaque with a few falling short of full coverage that apply evenly and last between four and six hours. The fomrula is lightly creamy to moderately creamy with some slip that is comfortable to wear and typically moisturizing over time. It has a floral scent but no discernible taste.

Framboise Velours (315)

Framboise Velours (315) is a deep, raspberry pink with subtle, cool undertones and a satin finish. The color payoff was nearly opaque in a single layer and applied smoothly and evenly when applied directly from the tube. The consistency was creamy and not as emollient as Rose Dressing, so it applied better and only settled into my deeper lip lines slightly but not noticeably (from a normal viewing distance). The color lasted for five hours on me and was hydrating.

I ordered this set before the Rouge VIB sale as I wanted to try the Givenchy lipstick formula prior to buying the full size. As you said Christine, this set was out of the stock on the Canadian site during the recent sale, like so many other items unfortunately. I like both lipsticks 🙂

I love the Givenchy Le Rouge lipstick but the packaging is a big part of why I enjoy it. I’d really add a few more dollars and get one full-size than get this kit!
Were you able to grab the Holiday 2017 special edition of the Le Rouge, Christine? I missed it, it sold out everywhere before I realized it was available 🙁
