Givenchy Heroic Pink (212) Le Rouge ($36.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium-dark berry with a satin finish. It had rich, opaque pigmentation that applied with smooth, even coverage. The consistency was incredibly silky and smooth, so it glided on easily and was comfortable to wear while being flattering worn, as it made my lips appear fuller and softer. On me, the color wore for five hours and was hydrating over time. The formula has a floral scent but no discernible taste. ColourPop Plastics (LE, $7.00) is darker (90% similar). Givenchy Heroic Red (321) Le Rouge ($36.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a bright, medium red with neutral-to-warm undertones and a creamy, lightly glossy sheen. The color wore well for six hours, left a stain behind, and was hydrating. The formula has a floral scent but no discernible taste. Chanel Carmin (LE, $37.00) is brighter (95% similar). (groan) I LOVE Heroic Pink, have been looking for this color for a while, but I hate fragrance in lipsticks, and it’s in the middle of the ingredient list, so no-go for me. I’m ok with a vanilla, cupcake, or natural scent, but since this is Givenchy, it’s probably straight up perfume. I think the dupes are more reddish berry in color, will continue looking….

Wow these are both gorgeous. I had not realized the Le rouge line was almost same price as Nars Audacious. In my mind Givenchy is more luxe/expensive.

Heroic pink is beautiful and an A+ wow. I like Heroic red also but it is just too bright for me. I just purchased two Sisley lipsticks that were 1/2 price but I am still tempted.

Even this pink, er, no thank you person would love heroic! But, having loved the 4 loaded bolds I got, maybe will try to curtail the spending, and do berry bossy on the next Ulta Maybelline sale. But the Givenchy is just a smidge more unique. Maybe this and Bond. Only slightly pink….

Oh yes Heroic Pink will be my first Givenchy lipstick!!! I recently tried a deluxe sample (several uses) of Givenchy Teint Couture foundation and I looooooove it!!! Number 4 Beige is such a good match surprisingly and it’s a beautiful foundation I wonder why no one talks about it!!! It makes me want to try more Givenchy.

Question for you, Christine – I love your beautiful lip swatches, but many times if I choose a color you’ve swatched, it turns out much darker/cooler on me. I’m very pale/fair, with neutral/cool undertones, and I guess my lip’s natural color is a little mauvey. Do you think this means my lip pigmentation is darker and cooler than yours? Just trying to base my purchases off your reviews while also taking my coloring into account! 😉

It can be lighting, your coloring (think about how white looks against black – very contrasting, so a black can look deeper as a result, whereas if you put black against a navy, you might not see the richness), your natural lip color, and so forth. My guess is that your cooler and very fair skin makes everything appear more dramatic on you!

These colors look so good on you. You are so beautifull Christine. I think we should tell our fellow women that more often.
Lots of love and thank you for being such a lovely person.

Heroic Pink is to die for! The color may not be that special, but the finish is divine. I got this shade yesterday and it’s super pretty. <3 Thanks for the review, Christine. 🙂
