Too Faced Melted Coral Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick

Here are the other three shades of Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.). (If you missed part one, check out the review here.) It’s a new (and permanent) formula that’s supposed to have “intensely saturated lip color with a precise tip applicator.” Too Faced says it has “the shine of a gloss, lasting power of a stain, and pigment-packed color of a liquid lipstick.” The consistency is light-medium–not too thick but not runny or watery–and is squeezed out of the tube through a flocked, angled applicator. These next three shades were similar in application and quality to the first three, too, which is always a good thing! The pigmentation was intense, opaque, and the colors applied evenly. These wear a really long time, but these lighter shades didn’t stain as much as the deeper shades in the range. They’re not moisturizing on me, but they’re not drying and pretty comfortable to wear, even towards the end of the wear. The finish is a satin, which turns to a matte after three to four hours of wear, but they never fully set, so these aren’t transfer-proof.

Too Faced Melted Coral Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is described as a “creamy coral.” It’s a light-medium orange with subtle reddish tones. It had a satin finish, fully opaque color, and lasted for six hours on me. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Kimber (P, $18.00) is more orange. NARS Torres del Paine (LE, $25.00) is lighter. theBalm First Officer (LE) is more matte. Givenchy Croisiere Coral (310) (LE, $36.00) is similar. MAC Sushi Kiss (LE, $16.00) is lighter, more orange. NARS Lodhi (P, $25.00) is similar. MAC Style Surge (P, $22.00) is a touch darker. MAC Razzledazzler (LE, $16.00) is a bit lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Too Faced Melted Peony Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is described as a “dusty rose.” It’s a light-medium, muted pink with subtle warm undertones and a satin finish. It had rich color payoff that yielded full color coverage, which wore well for five hours. MAC How Darling (LE, $16.00) is slightly cooler-toned. Chanel Radieuse (217) (LE, $34.00) is cooler-toned. MAC Dreaminess (P, $22.00) is lighter, cooler-toned. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Too Faced Melted Nude Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is described as a “neutral nude.” It’s a medium, peachy-beige with warm undertones and a satin-matte finish. It had intense pigmentation that was opaque and smooth on the lips. This shade wore well for five hours, which is on the shorter end for this formula. MAC Sensual Sparks (LE, $16.00) is darker. Givenchy Beige Mousseline (101) (P, $36.00) is similar. MAC Sweet & Sour (LE, $16.00) is lighter. NARS Biscayne Park (P, $25.00) is slightly darker. MAC Posh Tone (P, $22.00) is darker. MAC Delectable (LE, $16.00) is slightly darker. MAC Wholesome (LE, $16.00) is similar. MAC Cozy Up (LE, $16.00) is also similar. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Oh wow! I love love love that melted coral shade! What a beautiful shade that is.. thank you for introducing the item to me. A new addiiton to my wishlist I’m afraid!

Hi Karen! Thanks for your Bite BB review! I also enjoy your statement about your blog! Me too! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve wondered about these and gave some on my cart yet I’d love to know more! Are they really pigmented? Messy? Restoring? Worth it? Please respond, I’m a constant dry lipped Chica with an addiction and need for great lip multitaskers! I don’t want to have to return another thing so if I purchase, I’d like to really be certain. I appreciate it sooo much! Thank you! <3, Lotus

I’m so glad there are lighter shades than the ones in Part 1.
Even though the ones in Part 1 were very bright and beautiful, I don’t often wear the bolder shades.
Loving the look of the Coral shade. ^^

I love theseโ€ฆdon’t get me wrongโ€ฆbut why didn’t you knock the grade down given that they really don’t have the shine of a gloss? The promo pictures show a super glossy lipโ€ฆnot at all what the actual product looks like on. I’m just curiousโ€ฆbecause I’ve seen you downgrade things based on them not performing as promised (like the Nars multiples being great on cheeks but not lips). And I want to understand as I do read your reviews often and rely on themโ€ฆ.

Thanks!

Hi Megan!

There’s a definite shine/sheen to these – they’re not matte, and they keep that shine for hours, not immediately turning to matte! Hope that helps!

Melted Peony looks so sweet and pretty on you! But not in a sugary way, more like ‘innocent Christine(butyoubetterwatchout!)’ because of the vibrancy in the colour! ๐Ÿ˜€

These look great! It’s always nice to have a brand come out with a line that’s consistent in quality.

I have the violet, peony, and fuschia shades. I may have to get the coral and nude ones too. These are amazing! Too Faced has really stepped up thier game in the past two years or so. They’ve surpassed UD in my book.

Christine!!! These three are perfect on you! Do you, personally, like them for yourself? You look so fresh and summer-happy! I think of flowers. Wow. Kill it!

Question off topic a bit: Condider yourself at your worst skin and what would choose to invest in out of the following: Hourglass Ambient Blushes&Powders, Dior Nude Glow new LE Rose and Amber things, Bobbi Brown Shimmerbricks, or a Mac Standby.. Or something else? I’m becoming confused with what I’ve invested in and why, when there are such similarities, and before I keep something g or invest again, I’d love your opinion! Considering your skin is darker and invincible, I’m asking solely on product. I’d really appreciate an investigation & perhaps swatch test for this glow of color fun thing, if you can. I respect your reviews and I believe you’d want me to be as happy with the outcome in all ways possible. Thank you! <3 Lotus (Still running to the bathroom) ๐Ÿ™‚

Are you looking for a blush, highlighter, or finishing powder? I guess they all offer different things. I would say away from something like Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks, though. Ambient Powders/Blushes are going to be the most forgiving as well.

It was really a general question for those seeking a blusher with highlighting capabilities, since there are so many out… I’ve started to wonder about my own investments as well as those I’m currently considering and remembering others who acted alike these formulations long ago… Advertising messes with heads.

Yay for A+! Great to see such high rated products from Too Faced. I love that nude but I don’t think it would look half as chic on me as on you, those sort of colors always look sort of sickly on me

I was hoping you would review these! Thank you for all of your awsome reviews. You haven’t steered me wrong. Love the coral and the nude is a nice non zombie looking color.

I’ve noticed you have favored corals a lot in your reviews… By no means am I accusing you of favoritism, but do you think formulas that use coral colored pigments are generally stronger, kinda like how it’s hard to make a good purple?

Yes – corals tend to perform better, much like red lipsticks – it’s probably likely that there are very few bad grades for a red lipstick vs. a beige or pale pink one. Most reds are very pigmented and long-wearing – the only way they tend to fail is 1) too much slip and they bleed/feather or 2) are drying.

The texture and wear of these seem amazing, but the shade range seems… odd, and kind of unflattering…?.. I’m curious about seeing these in person.

I guess it just depends on what kind of colors you’re looking for! I didn’t find them unflattering personally, but that’s definitely an area of opinion!

These colours are far more approachable for me. They are lovely on you, Christine. And let me just add that your foundation/loose powder combination makes every posting flawless. I have got to finish my GA maestro before returning to a Guerlain foundation (i finished my Extreme while ago). Gorgeous!!!

I just bought Melted Peony and I love the formula!! Liquid lipsticks that dry down drive me nuts — they crack and I get some serious MLA line texture going on …. I may be making a trip back to Sephora very soon to pick up Melted Coral, and perhaps one or two of the brighter shades ๐Ÿ™‚

Seems Two Faced have a winner with these Melted Liquified Lipsticks. I want 5 out of the 6 in the range. I skip the nude, as I find nudes too hard to wear for me. All I’ve tried (quite a few) have made me look dead, and that is not flattering ๐Ÿ™‚ Though this nude actually looks quite good…
Thanks for an awsome job, Christine and you look wonderful in all of the shades.

Hopefully you will be reviewing the 4 new colors that came out recently (Berry, Candy, Fig, Marshmallow). I went ahead and bought all of them but I still wanted to read what you thought of them.

Your review made me buy Melted Ruby and I LOVE it! Slightly darker on my than Ruby Woo and I didn’t even need a liner. I think it was the slightly thinnner formula. ๐Ÿ™‚ How do you think Melted Coral would fare on a darker NC45 skin tone?

Woohoo!! So happy to hear you’re loving Melted Ruby, Nicole! I think it could work – have you tried anything that bright but light before? It will add a lot of contrast, but I’ve seen darker complexions rock colors like that for sure.
