Power Mode (410)
Estee Lauder Power Mode (410) Hi-Lustre Pure Color Envy Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium-dark pink with subtle, warm undertones and fine lighter pink and warmer pink pearl. This shade had less shimmer than a lot of the other shades, but it also seemed to apply more evenly and have greater coverage (which you may prefer, though the formula is supposed to be medium in coverage). The texture was lightly creamy with just a touch of slip, but it didn’t slide around and lasted for a solid four and a half hours.

Formula Overview
$32.00/0.12 oz. - $266.67 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have medium coverage with a lustrous finish. It took the Pure Color Envy formula and added shimmer to it with the end result varying from lightly pearlized to more frosted and near-metallic. The shimmer was finer in size, so the lipsticks did not feel gritty on the lips, and the particles didn’t migrate as the lipstick wore down.
The coverage ranged from semi-sheer to nearly opaque, so it really depended on the shade on how true it was to medium coverage. The formula felt lightly creamy, thinner but not clingy, and with just enough slip to be comfortable to apply and to wear without feeling slippery during wear. The shades lasted from four to six hours and usually hydrating while worn.
The formula had a vanilla scent but no discernible taste.

Thrill Seeker (420)
Estee Lauder Thrill Seeker (420) Hi-Lustre Pure Color Envy Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark fuchsia magenta with strong, pink undertones and fine lavender and violet pearl. It had semi-opaque color coverage that went on evenly and smoothly, as the lipstick had a smooth, lightly creamy texture that didn’t tug or drag on the lips. The color wore well for almost six hours, was hydrating, and left behind a stain.

Sly Ingenue (430)
Estee Lauder Sly Ingenue (430) Hi-Lustre Pure Color Envy Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a dark plum with subtle, warm undertones and very fine pink, fuchsia, and gold pearl. It had mostly opaque coverage, which is greater than marketed, but I imagine will not be a deal-breaker for most. The consistency had a light-medium feel to it, thicker than the other shades but not heavy, and was comfortable and hydrating on the lips. This shade wore well for five and a half hours on me.

Formula Overview
Estee Lauder Hi-Lustre Pure Color Envy Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is supposed to have medium coverage with a lustrous finish. It takes the Pure Color Envy and adds shimmer to it with the end result varying from lightly pearlized to more frosted and near-metallic. The shimmer is finer, so the lipsticks do not feel gritty on the lips, and the particles don’t migrate as the lipstick wears down. I would describe the coverage as more semi-opaque overall, though a lighter hand could achieve more medium coverage and two layers would give you near-to opaque coverage. It is lightly creamy with some slip that is more noticeable as the formula warms up against the lips. The wear ranged from four to six hours and was typically hydrating. The formula features a vanilla scent but no discernible taste.
I have a mini sample of this lipstick and it feels and wears like a formula that I need to give more chances!
Nice! So glad you are enjoying your sample.
I was just wearing Thrill Seeker on Sunday, lol.
Nice! 🙂
I really like Power Mode out of this set. *_*
Great pick!
I’m definitely keeping my eyes on these, and will be taking a good look the next time I visit an Estee counter. This formula looks pleasantly retro, which makes me very, very intrigued — creamy, pigmented and with a splash of sparkle. I don’t buy many lipsticks, but if I find my color, I know I’ll buy one. Thanks so much for your review.
No problem, Anne! 🙂
These all look beautiful on you Christine. I haven’t commented on the change to the website because I have been playing with it to determine whether I could find what I wanted. I am 62 and not exactly technically savvy as my daughter tells me on almost a daily basis, LOL. I am really loving it and find it much more intuitive and much easier to navigate. What a beautiful website you have created and it supports the dedication you have to this site. Thank you so much.
Thank you, Deborah! That’s what we want to hear, and it is actually good to hear from someone who doesn’t feel they’re technically savvy (but I bet you are savvier than you give yourself credit for!), too.
I actually feel totally inept when it comes to using sites on my phone, because I so rarely browse on my phone myself!
Iuvenes non carborundum. My best attempt at modernizing an old expression. Don’t let the youngsters wear you down! They cannot even walk without a phone in hand, so…. believe me, here is where you find what you want.
Sly Ingenue is lovely!!! Then again, I’m always up for a great looking plum, eh? Which means, of course, I have at least one dupe: UD After Dark. This still looks really tempting for me because the finish is utterly different and this shade appears significantly lighter.
Hard to not love a good plum, haha! The finish is definitely what sets the two apart!
Yay After Dark! And the finish does set this one apart.
I love the pearl in these. All the colors are nice so far too.
Me too! The pearl is my favorite part!
I feel the same way! Gosh, The normal pure envy line irritates my lips but fingers crossed that these work out for me!
I LOVE the second and third ones!!
I’m not a big fan of the way the colour of the first one looks on me. But I can see it being very beautiful on others!!!
Two outta three ain’t bad 😉
These all look perfect on you. Another feature I like is being able to select the thumbnail with the full face, first off. It used to be significant scrolling before you got to it. This may not really be a good thing, but it is much easier not to read every word, to be more selective. Why did I check every dupe for a coral, when I don’t wear them? The site revision enables me to be less OCD about products…..at least for now! That won’t last.
You know, I write and write, and at the end of the day, whether one or ten or twenty people read it, it’s all good. My hope is always to give you multiple ways to get the info you need in as much (or as little) time you might want to spend that day.
That was one of the reasons we went for the slidershow on desktop, because the images are large enough that it really is hard to see two full-sized images in one screen otherwise (even on my large display, so that’s how it was like, “Yeah, nobody can compare anything this way!”). We wanted the thumbnails to be large enough to convey detail and what they were about, so you could, in theory, get the gist without having to look at the image or you could see exactly how the product pan (or tube) looked vs. swatch, or the swatch vs. lip swatch.
Sly Ingenue is my kind of shade. Absolutely love it!
It’s gorgeous!
Damn, Estée Lauder really is on a roll with these, nice 🙂
They are!
Sly Ingenue looks gorgeous on you, Christine, but these kinds of gorgeous warm plums usually look completely different on me 🙁 I really want Thrill Seeker — also gorgeous 🙂
It seems theis is a range of lipsticks I need (ha!) to check out. I actually like all of them, and I know I have dupes for two. They are shimmery and colourful, and look so comfortable.
If you like pearl, you do! 🙂
