Dior Pink (001) Backstage Rosy Glow Blush Review & Swatches
Pink (001)
Dior Pink (001) Backstage Rosy Glow Blush ($37.00 for 0.16 oz.) is a pop of cotton candy pink with cool, blue undertones and a satin finish. It had opaque pigmentation that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out with minimal effort. As I buffed and blended out the color on my cheeks, it had a true satin finish–not shimmery but not matte either, just skin-like and glowing.
The texture felt firmer and almost thin to the touch, but it picked up easily with a brush and the color deposited well onto bare skin or over foundation. Per the formula’s description, it is intended to “react” to the natural moisture in the skin to “deliver a customized rosy effect,” which was accurate as the color darkened slightly and didn’t appear as bright nor as cool-toned applied (to my skin at least). It wore well for nine hours before fading a bit.

I wonder how this compares to the OG Rosy Glow blush in the silver compact. Is it the same blush repackaged for their less expensive Backstage line with the clear plastic topped compacts and no brush?
I would imagine it is similar, but I’m not sure since I don’t think I have the original (I’m only seeing Lolli’glow).
I have the original Rosy Glow 001 and it is my favorite blush. I really hope that this is the same.
Christine, how is it that you can totally pull off every shade of blush, from super cool shades like this one to very warm shades? It’s amazing! 🙂
I think it’s easier to say that when it’s not you! I definitely don’t feel that way! ?
I love this and have been eyeing it since I saw it on IG. I am glad it is permanent so I can pick it up a little later. I love Dior blushes and used 99 daily for a solid month after I purchased it. They give a very natural looking flush. I have to be careful with 99 as it is super pigmented and could make me look like a clown if I don’t swirl it off before applying, I have discovered that using a regular old cotton ball results in a good application. Sometimes the old ways are the best!!
I love cool-toned pinks like this! I hope we see more cool tones coming out.
This is so pretty… I might have to pick this one up! I was waiting for the review!
Thank you for reviewing this shade. I’ve been circling around the prey on this one. Now I can run comparisons; especially Surratt Barbe a Papa.
I’m going to stick to the Surratt.. it has shimmer and is more forgiving in its coolness as a result.
Between the two, Surratt wins for me as well but Surratt’s formula is superb and perfectly in my wheelhouse!
with you ?
This looks exactly like the original, which I have and which is my all time favourite and most flattering and natural blush. I’m glad they’ve scrapped the brush that used to be included (as they’ve also done with their highlighters – even if the brush is good, who needs a new one EVERY TIME they repurchase the product????). So I’m glad to see it featured here. Two of my favourites – MAC Craving and this blush – in one week!!! I feel so “validated”.
This is on my list for the VIB rouge sale! :o) It’s sooo gorgeous!
I love cool, bright bubblegum shades like this, but any “reactive” product always seems to turn either bright orange or hot pink on me, so I avoid them.
