Dior Moonlight High Fidelity Colours & Effects Eyeshadow Palette Review & swatches
Moonlight
Dior Moonlight High Fidelity Colours & Effects Eyeshadow Palette ($63.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a new, limited edition holiday palette that features shimmery taupe, silver, and black. It’s a sparkly, more metallic take on a classic smoky eye. All five shades performed well; they were pigmented, blendable, and easy to use with seven- to eight-hour wear.

Moonlight #1
Moonlight #1 is a soft, warmer taupe with a metallic sheen. It had rich pigmentation with a soft, lightly dusty texture that was smooth to the touch and dense without being stiff or firm to work with. The eyeshadow applied well to bare skin, seemed to “melt” a bit after a minute from application, and blended out easily along the edges. It wore well for eight hours on me before fading slightly.

Moonlight #2
Moonlight #2 is a bright, pale silver with neutral-to-cool undertones and a metallic sheen. It had good color payoff that was buildable to full coverage with a second layer or used with a dampened brush. It had a soft, smooth consistency that was dense without being too firmly pressed in the pan. It applied evenly to bare skin and blended out without issue. This shade stayed on nicely for seven and a half hours on me before I noticed slight fading.

Moonlight #3
Moonlight #3 is a light-medium silver with subtle, cool undertones and a frosted sheen. The pigmentation was opaque in a single layer, while the texture was soft, blendable, and a smidgen dusty in the pan but sat well on my lid. It didn’t sheer out too readily on my skin, and it seemed to “melt” on my lid so it appeared smoother and shinier after a minute or so. It lasted for eight hours on me before it started to crease faintly.

Moonlight #4
Moonlight #4 is a medium-dark taupe with neutral-to-warm undertones and a sparkling, soft metallic finish. The color payoff was fantastic with even, smooth application that blended out nicely. The texture was soft, dense but not firm in the pan, and it seemed to sink into my skin so it appeared smoother and shinier after the initial application. It wore well for eight hours on me.

Very pretty! Personally, I find silvery smokey eyes much more flattering than matte grays.
So do I Rachel!
Dior has really been doing so much better with their eyeshadow quints over the past year or so. This one is a stunner! If not for the fact that I’m fairly certain I can recreate the above look using one of a few palettes I have, I would grab this up!
This formula is so much more reliable than some of their past ones!
Just lovely. You showed us a perfect warm and a perfect cool look, too. This one is so perfectly balanced. Great little palette. Has Dior redeemed themselves?
The eyeshadows have been more consistent in the last iteration!
Yay! This is literally the first Dior quad I’ve bought in at least five years and it’s beautiful 🙂
Yay! Glad it’s working so well for you!
Dior shadow gets an A-?! I’m shocked! Pretty colors too!
Shocker! 😉 Whenever they use the more baked/hybrid style formula, it seems to be more reliable.
Wow. This is so pretty.
Ooooh, aaaah! SO pretty. As someone here once said “the stuff of brokeness”! I think I have dupes for every shade but I so love those stars and I so love #4 especially. That question about “resisting” – this might be my biggest resistance challenge!
…but, looking more closely, it’s a shame that #2 and #3 are so similar in colour….might make it easier to resist!
This is so, so beautiful. A gorgeous cool toned palette, although I am not sure why Dior decided to add two silver shades. However it is stunning and a return to the Dior of old.
Stunning eye look Christine too.
Thank you, Genevieve!
Don’t think I need this palette, but great to see a Dior quint scoring so well! Will see what they have for spring
Finally, a Dior palette that’s worth purchasing! This is so beautiful, and I’m imagining so many pretty holiday eye looks to create with this. Will pick this up for sure 🙂
The smoky, metallic looks you came up with are gorgeous on you. (I’ve been trying to decide which side I like better, but they both look great on you!) Unfortunately, metallics just don’t work well enough on me to make this palette tempting. But it is a beautiful one!
Love this – and beautiful eye look, Christine! Has anyone found/bought this on Sephora.com? I looked this morning and can’t find it, although I am seeing some of their other holiday stuff…
I haven’t seen it yet, though I have seen it on Nordstrom for sure.
The perfect “one gold, one silver” eye look — I didn’t realize this was such a good idea until I saw it. Kind of makes me want to do that in real life. 🙂
I bought and currently love this quad, (with all the very warm tones lately, it’s been unique to find a more silvery black uniform!!) but it pains me how pretty it is; i don’t wanna dip into it to mess up the design!! dior does embossments like no other!
