Fenty Beauty Unbutton & Uncuffed Stunna Lip Paints Reviews & Swatches
Unbutton
Fenty Beauty Unbutton Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Color ($24.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a dark peach with soft, warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had opaque pigmentation with a smooth, very fluid consistency that was thin and moved very, very easily–it actually felt a bit oily to me. I struggle sometimes with this formula for application as a lot of product is captured on the applicator to the point where I feel like I’m getting more product on my lips than I need, and then paired with the fluidity on the texture means it’s easy to get outside the natural edge of my lips if I am not patient and careful. As this shade dried down, it did sink into my lip lines a bit, but it felt flexible and was extremely comfortable to wear. It does well through drinking water and tea with minimal transfer on the cup and made it through a meal mostly intact (still opaque) but was more prone to leaving traces behind on a glass after that. It wore well for eight hours and was neither drying nor hydrating.

Formula Overview
$24.00/0.13 oz. - $184.62 Per Ounce
Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Color ($24.00 for 0.13 oz.) is supposed to offer “12-hour hold” that feels “weightless” and “one stroke” pigmentation. The formula features a very smooth, fluid consistency that is thin and almost emollient (a little slippery, not watery though), which I have often found harder to control compared to the average liquid lipstick. Part of the lack of control stems from the fact that the formula is quite pigmented, and the curvy applicator seems to hold an excessive amount of product.
The end result is that it can be easy to apply more product than one needs, so patience and controlled movements are key to application. It takes a minute to two minutes for it to dry down for the most part with the more recently released shades drying down to a flatter, more matte finish that's more transfer-resistant. They feel particularly comfortable, as they flex and feel lightweight on, and they aren't drying at all on me. They last between six and 10 hours on me.

Uncuffed
Fenty Beauty Uncuffed Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Color ($24.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a medium-dark, rosy mauve with subtle, warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. The pigmentation was opaque in a single layer, while the texture was thin, emollient, and fluid, so it spread easily (almost too easily given the applicator held more product than one needed for full coverage). It applied evenly and didn’t settle into my lip lines noticeably, and it dried down within a minute to a flexible, comfortable feel that was lightweight but still quite matte. It was transfer-resistant but a bit of product was left on my cup/glass and if dabbed with a napkin, though it still wore quite well. The lipstick stayed on nicely for nine hours, including through a meal, and felt neither drying nor hydrating.

How I wish Uncuffed showed on my lips the way it shows on yours Christine! Sadly when I tried it in store it looked like a greyish light brown on me. Sigh…
I’m glad I re-read this comment, because I originally thought you were talking about Unbutton and I was surprised that would go gray, LOL. Do you find that to be true with a lot of mid-tone pink/mauve shades?
Yes, it’s about Uncuffed 🙂 Luckily I went to a store instead of ordering online. It happens a lot with the mid-tone pink/mauve shades when I order online based on swatches I see on others. Exemple: MUFE C211 and M205 – they both look gorgeous on you and pull pink, especially the M205. On me, somehow they show grey/gray- mauve.
Note: Don’t laugh at my “grey” and “colour” spellings 🙂 This is what happens when you come from Europe to North America and still have the British English in your head after 10+ yrs lived in Canada. Old habits die hard.
Do people really laugh at that?! Maybe I’m so used to readership being totally global so I assume those who use grey/colour are from areas where that’s appropriate.
Somehow, I always written theater as theatre, though ?
don’t forget Colour Pop….they chose to spell “colour” “our” way!!!
In beauty, it seems like every other brand takes on French spellings to be ~fancy~ LOL!
Obviously not Nicole, but as an expat myself (Australia to UK)- yes, definitely! I’ve had people get upset with me for using “American” (uh, I assure you, it’s not, it’s Australian and happens to be the same in Australia) pronunciation or words (the weirdest being someone going off at me for calling it zucchini in a supermarket. I’m, uh, sorry that Australia also got the vegetable from Italians?). I will make an effort to use British pronunciation/ dialect/ spelling where it matters or where I risk confusion, but by default I speak in Australian English. I doubt that’ll ever change.
I think, perhaps, my knee-jerk reaction is… there are bigger fish to fry than quibbling over American/British spellings. I can’t believe this is a thing!
I’m American by upbringing and French (now living in Europe too) and for some reason I’ve always written certain English words British style, such as “humour” and “Saviour” (I’ll force myself not to put the “u” depending on my audience, but it looks odd to me). And the more I’m in Europe the more I mix things up.
No, I don’t personally like these shades – too matte for me.
Thank you! I am waiting so much for your review for Uninvited 🙂
Uncuffed looks great; I might have to try it. I’m a big fan of liquid lipsticks and this one is calling my name!
The colour of the 2nd one (Uncuffed) isn’t bad but both of these look SO dry and it’s simply not a look I find attractive.
I bought Uncuffed and I love the color, it’s perfect for me. But I agree that the applicator makes it go on heavy.
I tried Uncuffed on yesterday and loved it! Will definitely be picking it up at the Sephora sale!
Like the color, but when I tried them they show the lines too much and I ended up not caring for them, except the original red one. I still haven’t purchased it because I just don’t do red very much, but it’s such a nice red on me.
I have Uncuffed and I absolutely love it! I agree about the applicator, though, however my lips are big so I have a lot more area to use, so this generally isn’t an issue for me. I really enjoy reading your reviews as they’re very in-depth and insightful!
