Diormoon (439)
Dior Diormoon (439) Dior Addict Stellar Shine Lipstick ($37.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a light-medium peach with warm, orange undertones and a luminous sheen. It had semi-opaque color coverage that applied fairly evenly on my lips in a single, fluid stroke. For this light of a shade paired with so much slip, I would have expected it to look patchy and sink heavily into my lip lines, and it only had very faint settling in my deeper lip lines. The texture was smooth, balm-like, and melted against my lips as I applied it, and it felt almost “oily” because it was so emollient. It only wore for two hours, though, and it just seemed to disappear even when I tried to leave it alone as much as possible.

Formula Overview
$37.00/0.11 oz. - $336.36 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to "deliver 8 [hours] of unparalleled shine" with "sheer, vibrant colour." Based on the brand's promotional swatches, it seems that "sheer, vibrant colour" translates to more of a medium to semi-opaque coverage-level with a "juicy" look to it--shiny, lightly glossy. There's definitely pigmentation, but there's also a translucency that gives it a more balm-like look applied. The texture of the formula was smooth, balm-like, and definitely melted against the lips, which made it comfortable to apply as it glided easily across my lips; it almost felt a little oily. Most of the shades that I tried applied well, didn't emphasize my lip texture or lip lines, and were lightly to moderately hydrating. The downside to the formula is that I have no idea how they managed to get the shades to last anywhere near eight hours--and they call out shine, specifically--and it's just such an emollient formula that has wear time between three and four hours. They had a sweet, vanilla scent but no discernible taste.

Diorsolar (554)
Dior Diorsolar (554) Dior Addict Stellar Shine Lipstick ($37.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a bright, medium pink with soft, warm undertones and a glossy finish. The texture was lightweight, very emollient but thick, so while it had slip, it didn’t feel like it was smearing all over my lips. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied evenly across my lips and didn’t emphasize my lip lines. The downside was that it only lasted for three hours on me and was a bit moisturizing, which wasn’t entirely surprising based on the texture, but the claim on the formula is eight-hours of shine (mind-boggling!).

Diorstellaire (595)
Dior Diorstellaire (595) Dior Addict Stellar Shine Lipstick ($37.00 for 0.11 oz.) is an iridescent lavender with warm, pink undertones and cooler violet pearl. It had semi-sheer pigmentation that didn’t build up much from that, and it had a shinier finish but wasn’t as glossy or as “juicy” in look as other shades in the range. I found that the pearl distributed evenly across my lips but emphasized my lip texture a bit. On me, the color stayed on well for two and a half hours on me and was lightly hydrating.

I am a big fan of Dior lipsticks in general. I have tried so many different more pigment lipsticks and I just can’t stand the feel of pigment on my lips. The only other brand that my lips can handle would be Shiseido. These semi sheer, moisturizing lipsticks are right up my alley. They are all so beautiful. Personally, the longevity is fine to me (3 hours is really not bad for a moisturizing balm-like lipstick). It just does not really live up to the claim of eight hours and I guess that really affects the rating.
I find it so shocking that a brand would send you samples to review of a product that claims 8 hour wear but only lasts for a few hours… don’t they pay any attention to how your review system works?!
We should all be happy that a brand does send knowing how my system works 🙂
Haha good point ??
Definitely overrated – an 8 hour wear claim for a lipstick!
The shades are pretty, but really they are fairly popular too.
Thank you for the review Christine.
I so love every color I’ve seen of this line of lip color.
