Dior Coral Paisley (629) Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
Coral Paisley (629)
Dior Coral Paisley (629) 5 Couleurs Couture Eyeshadow Palette ($62.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a new, limited edition orange-leaning neutral color story that included two shimmer shades and three matte shades. The performance was decent to good but the palette would benefit from an eyeshadow primer.
Ingredients
Coral Paisley (629)
LELimited Edition. $68.00.
Coral Paisley #1
Coral Paisley #1 is a light orange with moderate, warm undertones and lighter, more golden shimmer. The texture seemed thinner, which made it less pigmented.
- Semi-opaque pigmentation
- Slightly thin, slightly firm but not stiff, though thin (“velvet” aspect)
- Blendable, easy to apply, little to no fallout
- Long-wearing (eight hours on average for this formula)

Formula Overview
-
The formula is supposed to have a "creamy and comfortable texture" that is long-wearing and has "intense color" (or "high-pigment"). There are five finishes that can be found within various palettes: matte, satin, shimmer, metallic, highlighter, and glitter, though there aren't specific descriptions by finish, unfortunately.
There were a few shades that seemed more sparkly and were sheerer, more like layering shades, while the other finishes tended to be pigmented. In general, the texture was moderately dense with the matte shades being slightly thinner and a smidgen powdery in the pan compared to the satin, shimmer, and metallic shades.
Aside from those more sparkly shades, the formula was blendable, pigmented, easy to work with, and lasted an average of eight hours on me (without a primer).

I like Coral Paisley 2 quite a lot but not enough to buy the palette with shades I would never use. I will have to look for dupes.
Because I actually do already have these tones of orange, warm dark brown and white gold several times over, I’m leaving it alone! For those who don’t, I think there may be prettier versions out there.
I have decided that I am not really a fan of this season of Dior’s monochromatic quints. They remind me too much of when ColourPop has done them. I guess I am expecting a lot more creativity from Dior – that’s why you pay the big bucks for their products. This quint of orangey shades is not creative….
I agree, Genevieve. While I’m never keen to part with the big bucks that Dior costs, when they release a real winner (as they often do), it’s (almost) worth the pain in the pocketbook. But these most recent releases have been pretty dull and, to my personal preferences, unappealing.
Matte, orange, orange….not for me.
Reminds me of a quint Dior released ages ago called Discretion, then they changed the name to Beige Massai or something similar.
