Dior Confident (783) Rouge Blush Review & Swatches

Confident (783)

Dior Confident (783) Rouge Blush ($44.00 for 0.23 oz.) is a slightly muted, medium-dark berry with cooler undertones and a satin finish. It had barely-there, very fine pearl throughout, but it wasn’t visibly shimmery–just more of a semi-matte to satin finish that looked skin-like once buffed and blended out on my skin. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which could be used with a lighter hand for a more buildable application (which I’d recommend–deeper shades like this are often easier to build up than to correct).

The texture was smooth to the touch, firmer without being stiff, but it also seemed a little drier, especially after I used it a few times, so there was a touch of excess powder that kicked up in the pan. It applied evenly and blended out well without too much effort, though it wasn’t as effortless as some of the other shades I’ve tried in the range. The blush stayed on well for nine hours before fading visibly on my cheek.

Formula Overview

$44.00/0.23 oz. - $191.30 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have "intense, ultra-pigmented color that lasts," though under "formula," the brand states that it has "bold, yet buildable color." Most of the shades I tried were quite pigmented, but the denser, smoother consistency of the powder made it possible to apply less for more buildable coverage as they weren't too powdery nor too stiff in the pan to work with. They applied easily, blended out well, and stayed on for eight to nine hours on me. The powders did have a floral scent to them, though I did not notice the scent when applied to my skin (more in the compact).

Lovely, including the surface treatment. Immediate craving. Thank God we have Temptalia to put the brakes on. I have the Nars, and probably the Lorac (makeup dementia again.) So, no need, but certainly is pretty and admirable.

I love the vision behind the entire Dior Fall 2019 Power Look Collection and I haven’t said this in a long time. The two blushes look great and the other one – the brown-toned called “Independent”, – seems quite unique.
The two 5 Couleurs powder eyeshadow palettes are beautiful as well.

Yes, it is a very interesting color (sort of taupey, mushroom brown). There is definitely a theme going on around this shade, as it is present in one of their new 5-pan ES palette (Intensif-Eye, the one with the yellow), and they also have a mono liquid eyeshadow in a similar taupe.

Good to know, as I usually use NOHO during cooler weather when I wear lipsticks like UD After Dark or MAC Sí, Sí Me. A lot, true, but not enough to warrant my buying this one on top. Thanks for saving me a few 💵, Christine!

This is the weirdest question, but can anyone think of a lipstick that’s the colour of this in the pan? I suddenly really want one

Not taking the micro-sparkle into account, I feel like Pat McGrath’s Full Blooded would be close. Also maybe NARS Velvet Lip Glide in Unspeakable? — (though not so much a lipstick — more a gloss).

I searched Temptalia for dupes to NARS Endangered Red, as I have that and it seems to me to be close. It came up with a few choices that seemed pretty similar to the way this blush looks in the pan. From a perspective of Temptalia’s lighting, ColourPop’s Alchemist seems closest. Maybe start there and look at the dupes for that to see what you can come up with?

How beautiful!
I like more subtle blushes and am afraid I’d be too heavy handed to use this.
It’s so nice to see Dior getting things right again after so long.
I might splurge on one or two products from this LE.

This is beautiful– and gives the nicest glow. Totally up my alley. I went through my stash convinced I must have a dupe. The closest are one a more fuchsia and the other a more raspberry shade. May have to get this. So pleased Dior is doing such lovely cool tones. And somehow this reminds me of a Dior lipstick that was super popular a few years back. Just checked it was for just this season five years ago. 753– the Continental.
