ColourPop Sand, Pink, Nectar Monochromatic Pressed Shadows Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Ego
ColourPop Ego Pressed Shadow ($5.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a light brown with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had good color coverage, which went on evenly, but the texture ran a little dry and dusty, so I had a bit of fallout during application and felt like some of the shimmer pulled away as I blended it out. It started to fade on me after seven and a half hours of wear.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Conundrum
ColourPop Conundrum Pressed Shadow ($5.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a soft, medium brown with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had good pigmentation–just a bit shy of full coverage–that applied to bare skin evenly and was easy to blend and diffuse. The consistency was soft, a touch dusty in the pan, but it did not appear dry on the skin nor did it sheer out too easily. It wore nicely for eight hours before fading on me.

Boxer
ColourPop Boxer Pressed Shadow ($5.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a medium-dark, bronzy brown with a frosted sheen. It had rich, opaque color payoff with a soft, smooth consistency that wasn’t too dense or too soft in the pan, so it was easy to pick up with any brush but didn’t have any excess product kicked up in the pan. This shade applied evenly and lasted for eight hours on me.

Pebbles
ColourPop Pebbles Pressed Shadow ($5.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark pinky coral with strong, warm undertones and a soft, frosted sheen. It had excellent pigmentation that applied decently to the lid, but the texture of this seemed a little stiffer in practice, though I did not notice it just by touching the eyeshadow! I had to work at it to get it to go on evenly and maintain its vibrancy. It wore well for seven hours before fading on me.

Labyrinth
ColourPop Labyrinth Pressed Shadow ($5.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a soft, medium rosy pink with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was slightly dusty in the pan, but it applied fairly well to bare skin–good coverage, even application, and still blendable without losing its intensity. I did, however, find that it appeared lighter swatched/applied than it did in the pan. On me, it wore well for seven and a half hours.

Poodle
ColourPop Poodle Pressed Shadow ($5.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had medium coverage, which was buildable to semi-opaque pigmentation over bare skin. With a primer, it could be built up to opaque coverage. The consistency was more powdery and prone to sheering out, which is why primer was such a help with this partiucular shade. The color started to fade after seven hours of wear.

Cut Outs
ColourPop Cut Outs Pressed Shadow ($5.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a bright, medium coral-orange with warm undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had a very smooth, silky texture–soft enough that there was some excess powder that kicked up in the pan when I used it–that applied evenly on bare skin. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that lasted for eight hours.

Got Cut Outs and Labyrinth; haven’t used either. Labyrinth came damaged. Guess I can salvage ~2/3 of it. Just to confirm w/readers/ all you CP addicts…there is no recourse, right? Honestly, very surprised that anything ever gets damaged with CP. Their packaging, foam, etc. is so sturdy and insulated. Certainly is a fun and inexpensive way to beef up/round out the stash. Noticed I panned aphrodisiac, which I never do w/TMS and too many no m/u days. It starts out light nude, then dries own a tad red…for me, very warm natural. Did not know I liked it so much. It’s so easy for just a tad of color, finger swipes, brush or finger blend, out the door. Think it sneaked up on HG status!
I believe that if something arrives broken, customer service will resend (I want to say they ask for pictures, but I can’t remember) or refund. I think they just don’t accept returns if you didn’t like something!
Yes, CP asked me for photos on an incomplete order. Not sure how a photo would prove a missing item but I sent them, and they promptly sent the missing item.
I’ve gotten something damaged from CP before and their customer service was awesome. They even sent me an extra goody for the trouble, though I don’t know if that is standard or just because they were newer back then and looking to make a really good impression. I would definitely recommend reaching out!!
Thanks guys. Just opened 2 Nyx faux whites that were broken tipped in store. Haha that Ulta shipped them fine, but the live customers or stockers mishandled them. I’ll photo the Labyrinth. Good to know.
Oh interesting! I got both Pebbles and Poodle, swatched very well on my arm, haven’t tried on my eyes yet, but I like the unique color, harder to dupe
I hope they work out for you, Katherine!
Kinda sorta kicking myself here for not getting another quad of their pressed eyeshadows. I was going to get Ringer, Ego, Boxer and Labrynth because I love the look you did using those shades. Oh well, already placed 2 orders with free shipping 36 hours apart. These will need to wait till May, me thinks…..?
Awww! It sounds like you already picked up plenty 🙂
Ego is my kind of brown!
It’s a great neutral!
Pebbles and Cut Outs are lovely!
They were!
I adore all of the sand collection eye shadows SO much!! They’re right up my alley!
In in trouble, because I’m heading to a big colourpop haul!!
Uh oh!
Gorgeous shades here, even though the pinks etc are not for me. Beautiful eye look Christine.
Thanks a lot, Genevieve!
Well I’m definitely picking up Pebbles & Labyrinth along with other shadows. I did really good during the free shipping, only ordered the pink blush/highlighter duo.
Nice job, Brenda!
