ColourPop Homie Super Shock Cheek
ColourPop Homie Super Shock Cheek

ColourPop Holiday Super Shock Cheek ($8.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “true mid-tone peachy pink in a matte finish.” It’s a muted, light-medium pink-coral with warm, yellow undertones and a satin finish. There’s a very faint shimmer in the finish when swatched or looked at closely, but on the skin, it’s more of a natural matte finish–not flat but not shimmery. It had good, opaque coverage when applied with a fingertip and more buildable, medium coverage when applied with a duo-fiber brush. The texture was velvety and smooth with a thin, lightweight feel on the skin that was easily blended. On me, it lasted for eight hours. NYX Mauve (P, $5.00) is less shimmery, darker. MAC Royal Sunset (LE, $21.00) is warmer. MAC Royal Sunset (LE, $21.00) is warmer. Urban Decay Overexposed (LE, ) is less shimmery. Hourglass Radiant Magenta (P, $35.00) is warmer. Chanel Sakura (87) (LE, $45.00) is less shimmery, lighter, brighter. Chanel Sakura (87) (LE, $45.00) is less shimmery, lighter, brighter. MAC Cheeky Bugger (LE, $21.00) is less shimmery, lighter. Makeup Geek Spell Bound (P, $9.99) is lighter. MAC Lesson in Love (LE, $21.00) is lighter. MAC Lesson in Love (LE, $21.00) is lighter. Tarte Unleashed (LE, $26.00) is more muted. Physicians Formula Natural (P, $12.99) is warmer. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

ColourPop Homie Super Shock Cheek ($8.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “vivid magenta in a matte finish.” It is an intensely brightened, medium-dark magenta purple with cool, violet undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque coverage with a fingertip, which was buildable to mostly true-to-pan color, if desired, while a duo-fiber brush will give semi-sheer coverage. The consistency is smooth, velvety, but a smidgen drier than other shades, though it doesn’t seem to impact the application/finish on the skin (but I think it is why it isn’t as opaque). On me, the color wore well for ten hours. NARS Desire (P, $30.00) is lighter, warmer. Urban Decay Savage (P, ) is darker, warmer. Surratt Beauty Se Pomponner (P, $32.00) is more shimmery. LORAC Unashamed (LE, ) is lighter. Urban Decay Quickie (P, $26.00) is darker, brighter. NARS Starscape (LE, $30.00) is cooler. ColourPop More, Please (LE, $8.00) is less shimmery, cooler. ColourPop Pie (P, $8.00) is cooler. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

ColourPop Mochi Super Shock Cheek ($8.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “bright blue pink in a matte finish.” It’s a light-medium pink with moderate, blue undertones with a satin-matte finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage when applied with a fingertip, which was somewhat buildable but never fully opaque (even after three layers). The texture had that smooth, velvety, spongy feel that felt like powder when it was applied and worked with on the skin. It wore well for eight and a half hours before fading. theBalm Down Boy (P, $21.00) is more muted. MAC I’m the One (LE, $21.00) is darker. MAC Peony Petal (P, $21.00) is darker, brighter, cooler. NARS New Attitude (LE, $30.00) is warmer. Milani Delizioso Pink (10) (P, $7.99) is darker, brighter. Urban Decay Quickie (LE, ) is darker, brighter. Givenchy It-Girl Purple (P, $44.00) is lighter. MAC I’m a Lover (P, $23.50) is more shimmery, lighter. NARS Roman Holiday (LE, $30.00) is darker. ColourPop Thumper (P, $8.00) is cooler. Makeup Geek Hanky Panky (P, $9.99) is more shimmery, darker. Make Up For Ever #210 HD Blush (P, $26.00) is glossier. Urban Decay Blush (P, ) is warmer. Urban Decay Quickie (P, $26.00) is lighter, warmer. ColourPop Olive (LE, $8.00) is less shimmery, darker. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

I really like Homie on you. It’s not a bright as one would expect! OMG, MORE IMPORTANTLY, I JUSTORDERED COCONUT! I know there where quite a few others wanting to get it. So, I thought I would let you know! Boba was still gone. 🙁

Nicole Avatar

Glad to help! I went ahead and actually paid shipping. I probably would have bought Homie but I was so worried it was going to sell out again, lol! I finally broke down and ordered Orchidee this week. My Nordstrom was clean out. So,I’m waiting for it to come from Neiman’s. I compared my stash to online swatches and it seems pretty unique! 🙂

Katherine T. Avatar

I have Homie, and it’s very pretty! You can wear it toned down or full on for more drama. I don’t want to pay for shipping on Coconut, so I’m wandering around the ColourPop website, doing more damage LOL. Oh yes, SO hard to resist Orchidee, too bad it’s LE and hard to dupe. I think Lotus caved and got it too. Hope you enjoy!

Nicole Avatar

Not hard to drop $30 on ColourPop! Now I want Homie,lol..I need to wait. I popped it in my cart for next time. Hopefully Boba will come back in stock soon and I’ll order it then.I tried to not get Orchidee..LE love is rough, lol!

Lotus Avatar

Katharine, If you have Daddy from ConourPop, used heavily over a deeper base color, you will get the resulting Orchidee! 😀 Enjoy! xx

Katherine T. Avatar

Lotus, the Daddy color is SO gorgeous, but it’s a pressed pigment (not shadow). There’s tiny print on the website that says it’s not safe for the eye. I’ve heard of people using it on the eye, but I’m too chicken. I might still get Daddy for my cheeks. Glad you are enjoying Orchidee- it’s so hard to resist!! I held out for a week, then caved but have no regrets. Glad you are enjoying it as well

Lotus Avatar

Katharine, what if you use Daddy over a safe eyeshadow? BINGO! 😀 but if I read correctly, I think you caved on orchidee, too! Hahaha!!!! Kudos! Matte purples.. Chanel is excellent! 😀

Lotus Avatar

Coconut looked gorgeous! Boba.. I think I’ve dubbed that as the one that got away.. Lucky for dupes! 😀 Lol! I also broke down and got Orchidee! It’s too beautiful to pass! And I love Chanel’s formula! Yay! 🙂 Hi Katherine! I sure did cave! Thank you! 😛 I passed on homie because my skin shows UD Quicky too similar and I’m loving it, plus I think Pegacorn will be similar as well! 😀

M Avatar

Woohoo! Thanks, Nicole! Just grabbed Coconut, along with a few others I was going to order when it came back in stock. Still waiting to receive the order that I placed last Thursday with other summer releases. So bad. 😛

Nancy T Avatar

On Sunday at the stroke of midnight, I placed my first ColourPop order, and then on Monday morning I saw Coconut was available, put it and a few other eyeshadows that I didn’t include in my first order, went to pay for it….and ALL the things that I ordered the night before were still in my cart??? It asked did I want to “update cart”? No phone number to call them to find out why either! Has this happened to anyone else?

Nicole Avatar

That’s odd Nancy. I found the best way to contact them is via the email address.I always make sure I get an email confirming my orders with them shortly after. They are growing pretty rapidly. I’d just would triple check. I have had an item missing .So,always check the labels and package contents asap too.

Nancy T Avatar

I actually did send them an email, the first response was very vague and generic, it didn’t answer the question I asked them about why my first order was still in my cart, so I sent another one asking for clarification, finally did get a real answer! That it was a glitch and they were fixing it, to go ahead and place my 2nd order. I still felt uncomfortable with it still in the cart, so I waited. I’m going to wait and see how my 1st order works out though before I place another. Yes, this certainly was odd!

Lotus Avatar

Hi there, Nancy! Their emails are very.. Well, sugary and vague. Hang in there! If you find things you love, please share! 😀

Nancy T Avatar

I definitely will! According to the USPS tracking number, it will arrive on Monday, I am so excited to try these pots of gorgeous-ness out!

Lotus Avatar

OMG, Nancy!!! I’m EXCITED for YOU! Do share!! How is it all?? Can you believe I broke down and bought another order? LMAO.. Man.. I had to. Lol! I’m so excited to hear your opinion and experience! 🙂

Nancy T Avatar

So far, I got to try out Quarters w/ Highly Waisted as the highlight and Poolside as a contour. Yesterday, I did Pie w/Monster. I am completely enthralled with how blendable, smooth and pigmented all the cheek products are!!! I did an eye look on Monday incorporating Krinkle and Sugar, such lovely muted teal shades! But the glitter with both is a bit much for daytime….more for parties or clubs, so Idk.

Lotus Avatar

Well it still sounds positive! I’m glad you’re enjoying g them! The combos sound lovely! 🙂 Don’t they feel so interesting? Lol.. I kind of just want to poke them. 🙂 If something is too glittery or whatever, apparently you can use a powder eyeshadow over it to calm it down. Like a matte or whatever. I guess they work in tandem pretty well.. Still haven’t experimented much! 😀 The teals sound pretty!

Nancy T Avatar

They are beautiful shades! I did the outer V in MUFE Black Satin to give it depth and tone it down a notch, but I think next time, I may apply them over a matte base shade or use a brush instead of fingertips. For some odd reason, my synthetic e/s brush wouldn’t pick the color up? Just strange! Still going to buy a few more though! LOL

Lotus Avatar

How fun! I recently placed an order and bought the Metamorphosis quad, and Jet, Feather & Swan.. LOL! I have no idea either but I love the texture! 🙂 Check out that quad! XO

LMM Avatar

I got Holiday a few months ago, right when the blushes came out, and have barely used anything else since. It’s a great spring/summer color for fair/warm skin. This is my favorite shade of blush in general, and this one in particular has rapidly become a favorite. It’s very brightening!

Katherine T. Avatar

EEK EEEK STOP STOP!! I have this insane urge to go into the ColourPop website, throw everything into my cart, and hit the purchase button! LOL

Ginny Avatar

I have genuinely loved all the cheek products I’ve ordered from them. Some colors worked better for me than others but objectively they are all great. Homie gives me a really nice stained look. Holiday is one I could go back for.

Allison Avatar

Holiday is easily my favorite ColourPop blush I own. I love that blush SO MUCH!!! I have a bunch of them now and have had to cut myself off! LOL I like the blushes more than the eye shadows – I think they’re easy to apply and blend out and the colors are beautiful. The formula makes it easy to not go overboard on fair skin like mine, too!

Nancy T Avatar

Homie is so pretty! When I placed my order the other night, Pie was included, but now that I’ve seen Homie…I am blown away by its prettiness! And Mochi is quite nice too, especially for a slightly more toned down cheek!

Nancy T Avatar

I just got my ColourPop package!!! Couldn’t restrain from swatching everything immediately, these are GORGEOUS! Can hardly wait to put them on today! Squeeee!!!!

Rachel R. Avatar

Gorgeous, as always. Homie is gorgeous. Holiday is a great nude pink which I think I’d wear a lot. I’d probably wear Mochi a lot, too. I love bubblegum pink blush on me.

Lotus Avatar

Hmm.. Interesting.. I have most of UD’s blushes, and I’m seeing many resemblances! I guess it doesn’t hurt to own something similar in a different formulation! 🙂

Lotus Avatar

It amazes me how unique to texture is and how they show up differently on everyone’s skin! Maybe it has to do with body temp? For those who missed MAC ROCKY HORROR Crazed Imagination, Cheerio is pretty close and delicious! 🙂

Lotus Avatar

What you said is the exact reason I’m keeping them! I’ve not tried ANY blushes yet, but the uniqueness is so exciting! I’ve plenty to play with and I’m sure I’ll fall in love with something! 😀 oh, Beauty Call seems a dupe for that MUFE Sky Artist Shadow.. And the Armani ETK 01 & 34, to add to the others from the Beetle LE collection, and otherwise, totally makes up for any CP disappointment! Chanel LE stylo In IRIS is what I’m talking about! 😀 Orchidee, Iris, 01, and 34 fit very well together as s family! 😀 I think the frame of mind I was in was also a factor.. 😉 lol! I’m just keeping it all and will play! Layering options are always great! 🙂 TYSVM for all your reviews! The comments are also helpful! Love this place! 🙂 Muah! XOXO
