ColourPop Glow Getter Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Glow Getter
ColourPop Glow Getter 9-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($14.00 for 0.32 oz.) is a new, nine-pan eyeshadow palette that included four mattes, one sparkle matte, and four shimmer eyeshadows. This was one of the more underwhelming ColourPop palettes, with respect to quality, in recent memory as the textures were more powdery and/or drier for many shades.

Signal
Signal is a light-medium pink with muted, warm undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow was richly pigmented, while the consistency was smooth, velvety, and blendable without being too firmly nor too loosely-pressed into the pan. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be βhighly pigmentedβ with an βultra-velvety and silkyβ texture that is βlong-wearingβ and βadheres easily to the eyes.β Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Glowworm
Glowworm is a pale, bluish-aqua with subtle, green-gold shifting pearl. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that could be built up if desired. The texture was smooth to the touch, firm, and thinner than most of the brand’s shimmer eyeshadows, so it tended to apply more evenly with a fingertip. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Flashlight
Flashlight is a bluish-silver base with warmer, contrasting gold shimmer throughout that gave it a metallic finish. It had opaque pigmentation paired with a slightly thicker, drier texture that had some fallout during application, so I’d recommend pressing it on with a fingertip or using a dampened brush with it. It lasted well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Flare
Flare is a light-medium brown with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that was easily built up to full opacity with less than half of a layer. The texture was slightly firmer than expected, but it remained blendable on my lid. It wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Sundown
Sundown is a deep, rich brown with subtle, warm undertones and flecks of gold micro-sparkle over a matte finish. The sparkles did not bind with the underlying product, so there was fallout during application from them. The eyeshadow had a soft, somewhat powdery consistency so using a light hand and pressing it on initially helped to combat potential fallout. It had opaque color coverage that stayed on well for eight hours before fading a bit.

This palette seems to me to be a bit of mish mash of colours and shades. Although I think it is mostly cool toned, the addition of those similar caramel shades of Dimmer and Flare add the warm touch – which is not what you want when you are looking for a cool toned palette.
To me, the best shades were Flicker and Glowworm.
While not what I would call perfect, I’m actually quite drawn to the shade combination going on here. I’m sure it’s one I could still get an interesting look from. I DO wish that the sparkly, grungy brown that I believe was supposed to be a metallic was better formulated, though. Might still grab it.
I’m surprised there aren’t more dupes for Flicker, my favourite shade in this palette, as it does look like a very “dupe-able” colour and I was sure I’d have some really close dupes. Some nice colours in this but a bit of a mixed bag! Once again, I can’t help but feel sorry for whomever it is at Colour Pop who has to keep coming up with NEW NAMES every 2 days, it seems.
I forgot to finish adding for that one!
Okay. I feel better knowing I almost certainly have dupes. Itβs such a nice shade π
