I wish there was a little trio of those purples on the bottom row, my eye is so drawn to them but the rest of the palette looks like things I have a hundred times over.
I am very attracted to this palette, but doubt something I need.
Wow, the swatches on the Beauty Bay website look horrible. It looks so light! Probably doesn’t help that the only swatch is on deeper skin, which highlights just how ashy it would be for folks with deeper skin.
Agreed. Also, swatches on only darker skin often make me feel like it wouldn’t look good on lighter skin types like mine, because the colors are too dark or maybe it just doesn’t look good. Otherwise they would have included those swatches. Too bad. The palette looked promising and I was curious about the brand. Too bad they’re not inclusive.
Just saw they added swatches on all skin tones, which is good! Still looks incredibly light, and a bunch of the shades (light purples and pinks) look identical to each other.
Looks super light leaning. Sure, u could make it work, but not sure if I would want to. I’ll wait for your swatches if you so choose to buy it.
This really reminds me of the old UD Vice and Book of Shadows palettes (with a much tinier pricetag). I don’t need this but it’s sure nice to see!
I really like this color story. I’m swimming in purples of all types so I don’t really need a palette this purple heavy, but I might rearrange my singles like this as I can see quite a few different looks I’d like to play around with.
I’ve been wondering this, but wasn’t sure if it was okay to ask: Is it always the lightness of an eyeshadow color that makes non-inclusive, or does the pigmentation make a difference? And also, is it shades that have a white base to them that do not work as well on darker skin? Are most palettes from Colourpop, with all the peachy, beige shadows, not considered inclusive, but because they churn out so many palettes in so much variety, that it doesn’t bother people as much?
(It looks gorgeous on the models in the Beauty Bay stock photos, but I wasn’t sure if they just used the colors that weren’t beige/peach/light neutrals for those looks?)
It can be the lightness, but it can also be the types of pigments mixed in (like a shade that doesn’t look that light can still be ashy!) along with how pigmented a product is.
I’ve been curious about that, so thank you for answering. I did understand it better when your palettes came out and you explained the process of choosing colors for different skin tones in detail, but I wasn’t sure if all light, matte colors were an issue.
