ColourPop Dream Team Lip Trio Review, Photos, Swatches
Dream Team
ColourPop Dream Team Lip Trio ($18.00 for 0.30 oz.) includes two Ultra Satin Liquid Lipsticks and one lipgloss. The gloss was the weaker shade in the set, though the shades can be purchased individually.

Moon Child
Moon Child is a medium, peachy brown with warm undertones and flecks of gold micro-sparkle. The gloss felt smooth, not too thick or too thin, and was non-sticky. It had good color payoff (and the brand described it as “medium coverage”) in a single layer, but the base was milkier and did settle into my lip lines. The color applied quite evenly, though, which was impressive for the type of shade it was. The shimmer was fine enough not to be rough or gritty but was still visible. This shade lasted for three and a half hours on me and was lightly hydrating.

Formula Overview
$10.00/0.11 oz. - $90.91 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "hi-shine" with a "non-sticky" texture that "feels amazing" and includes five finishes "from 3-D pearl to sheer tinted colour." They are designed to be a sheerer formula, so many shades are sheer with a smattering of shimmer or sparkle and then a few are more tinted with sheer to semi-sheer coverage but no shimmer. Each gloss has a short, brush-type applicator, which worked better than I expected and didn't leave streaky results behind (in general). They had a sweet, vanilla scent but no discernible taste.
The "Tinted" finish ("glass-like shine with tint of sheer colour and no shimmer") was the least consistent--sometimes prone to unevenness and getting into lip lines, particularly with deeper/richer shades, whereas Pearlescent ("glass-like shine with subtle shimmer") and Prismatic ("glass-like shine with floating multi dimensional pearl and glitters") are sheer to translucent with the major difference being finer shimmer in the Pearlescent finish and larger, more glitter-like particles in the Prismatic finish. Both finishes tended to look plush and more smoothing on my lips. The Creme finish is a "medium-coverage gloss with a creamy finish that does not contain any pearls or glitter." The Metallic is described as a "full-coverage gloss with a mix of pearl and metallic finishes."
The wear time varied by shade but the sheerer ones tended to wear between two and three hours as the formula was, indeed, non-sticky and smooth, which made them lighter-weight and comfortable to wear but shorter wearing. A lot of the sheerer shades ran together, so I would recommend just picking up one or two rather than several as the differences are likely to be lost! Also, keep in mind that sheerer lip colors can look different from person to person due to much of the natural lip color coming through.

Moon Child
LELimited Edition. $10.00.
Dreamy
Dreamy is a slightly muted, medium-dark coral with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which applied evenly across the lips and was easy to work with. The formula dried down more than I typically get with the Ultra Satin liquid lipsticks, and it wasn’t as smoothing as I anticipated–my lip lines were exaggerated as a result. There was a light tackiness to the finish but the color did not pull away when I pressed my lips together. It lasted for six and a half hours and was non-drying.

Formula Overview
$7.00/0.11 oz. - $63.64 Per Ounce
It is supposed to be a “lightweight, bold lipstick with a satin finish”liquid lipstick that is “extra intense colour saturation” and “long-wearing,” but the brand is quick to note that it is “not completely kiss proof.” The consistency is very light to lightweight with a thin to mousse-like consistency–they feel a little heavier going on than the Ultra Matte formula, but they don’t feel heavy on. They dry down somewhat, but it isn’t a full, flat dry down like matte liquid lipsticks, and when you press your lips together, there is moderate tackiness there, but I didn’t notice any lifting or separating of color by doing so.
They have been extremely long-wearing and comfortable to wear for the most part–it’s after ten hours or so that I notice my lips feeling a little dry–but six hours into wear and the colors have looked good post-meals/post-drinking. I think if you like the idea of longer-wearing, mostly matte lip color but find most liquid lipsticks too drying or too flat while not needing an ultra-hydrating formula, you might like these.

Dreamy
PiPPermanent in Palette. $7.00.
Rêver
Rêver is a bright, medium orange-red with warm undertones and a satin finish. The color payoff was incredibly rich–totally opaque in less than a single layer–and the color applied evenly and smoothly across the lips. The consistency was smooth, thin without being watery, and easy to spread across my lips. It “dried” slightly, so that it didn’t transfer completely, but it was comfortable to wear and moved with my lips more than the brand’s Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks do. The color was still going strong after six hours of wear, and the formula felt neither drying nor hydrating.

I’m loving how bright Rever is!
It is intense!
Forgot to mention this previously; thank you for posting ingredients. I think CP does not, which can annoy me significantly. Maybe I just don’t know where to look. Good variety in this set. Look super on you, as usual! Lol.
ColourPop lists all the ingredients for each shade on their site, KJH. They’re one of the brands that is very good about that!
Rêver is gorgeous. May need to snag that after all the emergency vet bills are paid off…
Hope those bills weren’t too painful and that all pet(s) are doing better now 🙂
The vet bills are more than a months rent worth so eeek, but as of today little cat is right as rain. I’d rather have a healthy cat than Christmas presents anyways. The two of them are all the presents I need.
Ouch, Anne! 🙁 Poor kitty! I understand — Mellan is my world, so his health is more important. Your cat is lucky to have you, and I’m so relieved your kitty is doing well!
I picked up the set although I only had hopes of Dreamy working for me. This orange is really beautiful and I am going to try to wear it and see if I like it. I don’t wear glosses much but will try to wear this one also. Lately I have been trying to use shades that I normally think look terrible on me to determine if it is just my not liking certain shades as much as others or whether they truly look ghastly on me!
My set is on its way. I saw that it had sold out, and what can I say? I am a sucker for restocks. This past year, I discovered Colourpop. Thank you, Christine! I have found more hits than misses so far. I love the Supershock shadows most— indulging in your list of the best Supershock shades! So cheap, yet really good!
Too bad I didn’t think to throw this into last night’s cart before pushing pay! Rever is an eye-popping, gorgeous shade! But I also love Dreamy for a burnt wintertime coral, too!
I use to really like Kathleen Lights until she casually used the N word. It’s an easy pass for me.
Nice little set, I like all 3 colors and finishes.
These colors aren’t for me but they sure are pretty!
