ColourPop Crème de la Crème Highlighter Palette Review & Swatches
Crème de la Crème
ColourPop Crème de la Crème Pressed Powder Highlighter Quad ($18.00 for 0.44 oz.) includes four powder highlighters, which are best characterized as more subtle to moderate highlighters; they’re not over-the-top at all (definitely less intense than most of their powder highlighters I’ve tried thus far). They’re on the lighter side, so they’ll work best for fairer complexions or layered over stronger blushes to give them more a shift but not tons of shimmer, but I’d be curious to hear from those with medium and deeper complexions on how these red. The texture on these was odd; they felt like a drier (almost dried out!) cream-based product rather than as smooth and creamy as their powder highlighters but not at all like their Super Shock Highlighters. They went on better than I expected, and the overall performance was there, but the texture caught me off guard.
Crème de la Crème
LELimited Edition. $18.00.
Good as Gateau
Good as Gateau is a pale, white gold with soft, warmer undertones and a pearly sheen. It had good pigmentation that was buildable to full coverage with a second layer. The consistency was denser but felt a little slippery, yet not creamy–it almost felt like a dried-out cream product to me. It blended out without too much effort, but it didn’t appear as smooth overall as I expected. It wore well for eight hours on me before fading slightly.

Formula Overview

The powder highlighter is supposed to have a "high-shine" finish with "high colour intensity." In general, ColourPop's pressed highlighter powders have a smooth, moderately dense texture that was soft enough to be picked up easily by a brush but not kick up any powder in the pan. The formula was semi-opaque to opaque but easily sheered out for less shine and coverage if desired. There were a few shades within the range that emphasized my skin's natural texture slightly but most did not. The wear ranged from seven and a half hours to nine hours.

One in a Millefeuille
One in a Millefeuille is a light, cooler pink base with warmer, peachy gold shimmer. The highlighter had good color payoff in a single layer, which was buildable to full coverage with a second layer, and it had the stronger sheen of the four shades in the palette. The texture felt smooth to the touch and seemed thinner, and I felt like I had to use a heavier hand to pick up product evenly on my brush. It applied well to my skin and blended out without much effort. This shade lasted nicely for eight hours on me before fading a bit.

Goody Two Choux
Goody Two Choux is a light peach base with warm, orange undertones and a pink-to-lavender shift. It had a very subtle, lightly luminous finish–not at all overtly shimmery or metallic. The consistency felt denser and drier to the touch, but it picked up well with a brush and buffed nicely onto my skin. It had good color coverage that stayed on well for eight hours on me.

Pardon My Francais
Pardon My Francais is a pale lavender with subtle, warm undertones and a pearly sheen. The finish was subtle on, even when built up, and it did not emphasize my skin’s natural texture. The highlighter had nearly opaque pigmentation with a smooth, thin texture that was firmer/stiffer in the pan but not difficult to blend out on my skin. It wore well for eight hours before fading a bit on me.

I definitely don’t need this, given that I have a squillion and one highlighters already and I just picked up the Dream Sequence palette, but it sure is pretty!
No comment on the product b/c I’m not interested, but I did want to say that it is really helpful that you added the extra widget of the look breakdown at the bottom. I know you would put the hyperlink to get to it, but having it at the bottom is great.
These are very pretty, soft shades. The names are really cute, too.
The texture you’ve described sounds a bit wonky and almost like PlayDoh…as for the shades themselves, I really love their subtlety! I’m thinking that these will be more “forgiving” for daytime usage, instead of the high beam shades I typically wear.
I am a little disappointed in this highlighting palette, as we have seen stellar ones from ColourPop in the past. The shades are lovely and would suit a fairer complexion. I love your eye look.
