ColourPop Blitzed Super Shock Shadow Set
ColourPop Blitzed Super Shock Shadow Set ($30.00 for 0.42 oz.) includes six full-sized Super Shock Shadows. All six are limited edition and exclusive to the set. All six shades wore for twelve hours without creasing or fading, and I only had minimal fall out with the really glittery shades (like a handful, not a disco party!). They were consistent with ColourPop’s formula in general.
Valley Girl is described as a “soft vanilla with tons of gold highlights.” It’s a white gold with warm undertones and a darker champagne gold shimmer and sparkle. It had mostly opaque pigmentation with a smooth, creamy consistency that glided on easily and covered well. The color lasted for twelve hours, which is when I removed it, but I saw no signs of wear. NABLA Cosmetics Honey Drip (PiP, ) is more shimmery (95% similar). LORAC Dance 'Til Dawn Eyeshadow #2 (LE, $19.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). Fenty Beauty Oh-Zone (LE, ) is more shimmery (95% similar). Dior Pied de Poule #2 (PiP, ) is less shimmery, darker (95% similar). Too Faced Snowflakes (LE, $16.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). LORAC Moonlight (LE, $19.00) is darker (95% similar). Gucci Beauty Cosmic Deco #1 (DC, ) is lighter (95% similar). Anastasia Lucid (LE, $12.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). MAC Greenluxe #2 (PiP, ) is darker, warmer (90% similar). Top 20 dupes listed, see the rest. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Party Girl is described as a “soft dusty pink.” It’s a muted, light-medium peachy-pink with warm undertones and barely-there shimmer. The texture was slightly drier than the more shimmery shades in the set, but it wasn’t stiff or difficult to blend out. It had good color payoff with a blendable consistency that lasted for twelve hours. Marc Jacobs Beauty Always (PiP, ) is lighter (95% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty The Free Spirit No. 5 (LE, ) is less shimmery, warmer (95% similar). Tarte Tartetini (LE, ) is less shimmery (95% similar). Guerlain Ors et Merveilles #5 (LE, ) is less shimmery (95% similar). bareMinerals Fortune (LE, ) is less shimmery, lighter, brighter (95% similar). Smashbox Totally Nude (PiP, ) is darker (90% similar). Chanel Melody (98) (P, $32.00) is warmer (90% similar). MAC Frisco (LE, $17.00) is darker (90% similar). Natasha Denona Flamingo (57V) (PiP, $29.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). ColourPop Lucky You (DC, $4.50) is lighter (85% similar). MAC Pink Sands (LE, $17.00) is darker (85% similar). MAC Happy Song (LE, $17.00) is lighter, cooler (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Thirsty Girl is described as a “warm bronze drenched with gold glitter.” It’s a molten, gold-tinged bronze with warm undertones and lighter gold glitter. It was intensely pigmented with a really rich, dense, and creamy texture that glided on easily without losing its depth. The glitter didn’t fall out unless I sheered it out a lot, but I didn’t have any fall out while worn (and the color stayed put for twelve hours!). Gucci Beauty Iconic Gold (DC, $37.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Makeup Geek Utopia (P, $12.00) is warmer (85% similar). Too Faced Lemon Zest (P, $22.00) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). Stila Vivid Smoky Quartz (P, $24.00) is cooler (90% similar). Giorgio Armani #6 (DC, $33.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). ColourPop Tweet Tweet (LE, $4.50) is darker (90% similar). MAC Pretty It Up (LE, $21.00) is lighter (90% similar). Illamasqua Ore (P, $25.50) is less shimmery, lighter (95% similar). ColourPop Bouncy (P, $6.00) is lighter (90% similar). Urban Decay Stun (LE, $19.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Dose of Colors Lock and Key (P, $20.00) is darker (90% similar). Huda Beauty Dubai (Remastered) (PiP, ) is lighter (90% similar). ColourPop Amira (LE, $6.00) is lighter (90% similar). Sephora Jump Into the Mud (340) (P, $9.00) is lighter (90% similar). ColourPop Eve (LE, $6.00) is less shimmery, lighter, brighter (90% similar). Natasha Denona Spectrum (101K) (2020) (PiP, ) is less shimmery, lighter (85% similar). ColourPop Blaze (PiP, $6.00) is lighter, brighter, warmer (85% similar). Stila Wanderlust (P, $24.00) is more shimmery, lighter (85% similar). Make Up For Ever D640 Golden Snake (DC, $21.00) is less shimmery, lighter (85% similar). Charlotte Tilbury Amber Gold (was Bette) (P, $34.00) is lighter, brighter (85% similar). Top 20 dupes listed, see the rest. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Fan Girl is described as a “cool-toned violet grey.” It’s a blackened navy blue with cool undertones and multi-colored shimmer and micro-sparkle. It had semi-opaque color coverage with a creamy, blendable consistency that felt a bit more emollient than the average shade in the formula. It was buildable to more opaque coverage. This shade lasted for twelve hours on me. Chanel Apparition (LE, $32.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). MAC Lapisluxe #2 (LE, ) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). MAC Naval Blue (P, $21.00) is lighter, brighter (90% similar). Too Faced Party Time (LE, $16.00) is warmer (90% similar). Divergent Erudite Sapphire (LE, ) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
That Girl is described as a “charcoal grey drizzled with lots of silver and gold glitter.” It’s a murky, green-ish gray with warmer undertones and silver and gold glitter. It had so-so color payoff, which I found buildable to semi-opaque coverage, but I couldn’t get it fully opaque. With the cream-based formula, the glitter binds with the base, and it applied smoothly and evenly, while I only had minimal fall out over a twelve-hour period. Giorgio Armani Onyx (05) (DC, $39.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). KVD Beauty Black No. 1 (DC, $21.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Chanel Jade Shore (LE, $34.00) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). Too Faced Eiffel (LE, $16.00) is darker (85% similar). theBalm Surf's Up (LE, $16.00) is less shimmery, darker (85% similar). MAC Enviable (LE, $17.00) is darker (90% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Roller Girl is described as a “true black topped with rainbow glitter.” It’s an intense, deep black with subtle, warm undertones and multi-colored sparkle. It had mostly opaque pigmentation with a creamy, smooth texture that applied beautifully. It didn’t lose its richness at all, and the glitter was noticeable. This shade lasted for twelve hours with just a smidgen of fall out. Lancome The New Black (P, $19.00) is darker (95% similar). ColourPop Friskie (P, $6.00) is less pigmented, cooler, lower quality (95% similar). Too Faced Tres Chic (LE, $16.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). CoverGirl Molten Black (300) (P, $4.99) is less shimmery (95% similar). MAC Charcoal (LE, ) is lighter (95% similar). Buxom Black Lab (P, $18.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). L'Oreal Eternal Black (P, $7.99) is lighter (95% similar). ColourPop Raven (LE, $6.00) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). Chanel Mirifique (P, $32.00) is darker, cooler (90% similar). Thirsty Girl is gorgeous. I wish I could figure out how to make those dark bronze-golds work with my coloring! That Girl is lovely, too. Too bad it’s exclusive to the set! 🙁
Maybe as an eyeliner?
The Colour Pop sets drive me crazy! There’s always 1 shadow (out of like 4 or 6) that I really want, but I don’t want to buy the whole set to get it. Like I got Forever Freshman for Baby T (blue) but good thing it was 20% off and some of the other colors were prettier than expected. I only really want That Girl – I have the dupe Armani Onyx, but think they will look great layered together (sigh). We’ll see…BTW, love your eye look, gorgeous!
lol! That is always the case with those sets and palettes.
Thank you, Katherine!
This is the only set I ordered out of the Holiday sets from CP(so far). I’m badly wanting the liners and secondly the lippies. I do wish they would of added another matte because they do mattes so well. But, I can pair this with other shadows. So funny- I opened Valley girl-swatched it and said “Whoa in a totally valley girl tone. I didn’t even realize it was VG until I tuned it over! lol. How cute is the new CP packaging?! Colourpop keeps me excited and I like that. Plus, the prices are so amazing and they are ever one-uping themselves…I love Colourpop!
The eyeshadows are nice! Still my favorite product by CP. They also added a mirror to the box sets… well, I don’t remember them being there before.
There was no mirror until this Holiday! I keep the boxes and repurpose them. 🙂
Wow, the four darker colours in this set are absolutely gorgeous – the two greyish shades in particular! They go together really nicely too, love the look you did!
Thanks so much, A!
I personally am not loving the colors (for me, just my taste), and am kind of relieved because I’ve amassed more Colourpop shadows than I can handle. It’s still a great set with colors that aren’t the same ol’ same ol’ “Holiday” gold, silver, and black, but are still glitzy and glam. Seems like a good New Year’s Eve color scheme.
Phew 😉
So pretty and festive looking. I love the names of these shadows lol
They’re fun!
Thirsty Girl is so pretty, very festive!
It is!
This is definitely the ColourPop holiday set that I’m more interested in, but I might wait a while on buying it. The Sephora sale is gonna gobble up my make up budget for the next couple of weeks, but I definitely think I’ll buy this later.
I’m glad you’ll put it on your list for later, Karen!
I’m loving That Girl.
Me too!
Christine, are you wearing all six colors here? Also, how long do the Colour Pop limited edition sets usually last? I would consider these in December but I am done spending for November.
All but the matte one in the look.
Those shadows are insane! So pigmented. Even though fan girl got low marks it’s still my fav of the bunch. How does Color Pop do it lol.
lol! It’s magic!
This is a really nice set. If I already didn’t have tons or other eye-shadows to use up, this would be on my list.
It is a nice one!
I’m unboxing my first Colourpop order right now (actually, I had ordered before, but I lost my package in extremely unfortunate circumstances ???), and I can’t believe the formula of these shadows. They’re just so beautiful, is this witchcraft? Definitely witchcraft. Buy this collection! Buy all the things! ???
Haha! Some of them are SO SO SO good.
Ooh, these look great! The glitter was a worry for me (fallout city!), but based on your review I might just place an order soon. 🙂
I’m always impressed by how well the glitter stays on with most CP shades. The only ones that I have really noticeable fall out (or issues) with are the more chunky glitter/sparkle shades that also tend to go on that way, but those are pretty rare.
Trying very hard to figure out this palette’s shade selection! Two warm, gorgeous golden shades, then two grayish shades, and that light pink just looks so out of sync with the other shades. Of course, the black shade goes with all of these, but the rest seem to lack cohesiveness? Idk? But I may still get it because of the 2 golds, and that purpley-gray-blue.
I can see what you mean, Nancy! The shades are unusual. I had no idea how to get that matte one in with the other five, lol!
How does thirsty girl compare to makeup geek pretentious and lorac mega pro 2 shade in penny?? Love these swatches!
Much, much darker and less brown than Pretentious, darker than Penny, less coppery.
These are stunning. I love Thirsty Girl, That Girl and Fan Girl. ColourPop does such a great job with metallics and glitters. Party Girl is pretty, and seems to do a good job of grounding the other shades. Party Girl looks out of place looking at the collection in the pots, but it definitely works in your (utterly gorgeous!) eye look. I would think it would be an quick and easy party look to use one of the metallic or glittery shades on the mobile lids and Party Girl over the rest of the eyelids.
Thirsty Girl is the real standout!
What fabulous colours and the ratings are excellent – a great set of colours for an unbelievably low price. That Girl is such a beautiful colour.
Love your eye look Christine. It is gorgeous.
Thanks, Genevieve!
I just want That Girl.
I wish they sold ’em separately!
Fan Girl and Roller Girl are my favorites out of this set!
Great picks!
What a lovely set!
You did an awesome look. I really like the look of this set. Now if only I could get it. I must keep my eyes on Colour Pop’s site, maybe they will start shipping to my little corner of the world one of these days. Fingers crossed.
One day, one day!
I love “that girl”! I’m super bummed that you can’t buy individually and that there are no close dupes!! ugggh!!! i need that color!
Awww!
Colourpop is so impressive. And they have been getting so much of my money… Do you know if they will be doing any limited edition singles for the holidays, or just the three different kits?
They are! They have been mentioning/showing parts of it on social media over the last couple of days – November 11th.
Awesome! Thanks! 🙂
These look so pretty on you!
Thanks, Alexis!
Thirsty girl actually startled me as I was scrolling down the page. Probably the best swatch I’ve ever seen
I pretty much had the same reaction when swatching!
Fan girl is my favorite shade! Is it just me or does anyone else just get sucked in my these gorgeous sparkling shadows. I just saw a snapchat video of the collection coming out on Wednesday! OMG!! Thank goodness they are a very affordable brand!
Haha! They are hard to resist, especially at this price.
These are d.d. gorgeous. And you proved with that glorious look that you can blend a lovely, refined look with some glitter city shadows. The look is phenom! It IS a slightly skewed selection. The grays are great, and anyone would adore Thirsty Girl. They’d do well to convert that one, at least, to permanent status.
Thirsty Girl is SOOOO intense!
Wow. Gorgeous. I feel like I have a lot of similar shades already, so I haven’t ordered this. But….gah so pretty I may give in eventually.
So tough to resist ColourPop these days!
Thirsty Girl is gorgeous!
I love that one!
