ColourPop 143 Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
143
ColourPop 143 5-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($10.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a new, limited edition five-pan pink-themed palette that included one true matte, one sparkly matte, one pressed glitter, and two shimmer shades. The mattes performed well, but the shimmers/glitter were not quite as on par with past releases. The pressed glitter definitely dragged down the rating, though, as it wasn’t as emollient or as well-dispersing as the formula typically has been in my experience.

Aww
Aww is a light pink with strong, warm undertones and a metallic sheen. The texture was smooth, creamy, and a little more emollient than ideal for most versatile use. I’d recommend applying it with a fingertip, which helped the eyeshadow apply evenly and not move around as much compared to a brush, which sometimes resulted in more uneven coverage. It had mostly opaque pigmentation that was buildable to full coverage. It wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

QT
QT is a brighter, medium pink with warmer undertones and a matte finish. It had rich pigmentation with a soft, lightly powdery consistency, but it was substantial enough not to sheer out when applied to bare skin while still blending out with ease along the edges. It lasted nicely for eight hours before fading visibly.

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing." The way the Pressed Pigments differ is that they're not intended for usage on the immediate eye area.
The majority of the shades are semi-opaque to opaque in coverage, blend out fairly well, and can sometimes be a bit drier/more powdery compared to typical matte shades. They often wear eight to nine hours on me before fading, but many shades in the Pressed Pigment family leave some staining behind.

My Boo
My Boo has a transparent base with flecks of smaller and much larger glitter particles that seemed to be more of a pastel mix of orange, lavender, pink, and blue. This shade has plastic (PET) glitter and is not intended for use around the eye area. The consistency was slightly drier than a lot of the brand’s pressed glitters, so it had more fallout and less hold over time. It had semi-sheer coverage that could have dispersed better as well. There was noticeable migration after six hours of wear.

LOML
LOML is a vivid, medium pink with subtle, cool undertones and a mostly matte finish. There were faint sparkles woven throughout, but they did not bind well with the underlying color. I noticed that there was very little fallout during application, so it appeared that a lot of those flecks of sparkle disappeared (likely trapped in my brush!), and the shade was blendable without being prone to sheering out. This shade had opaque color coverage that wore well for eight and a half hours before fading visibly, though there was slight staining after removal.

Lub
Lub is a bright, medium-dark fuchsia pink with subtle, cool undertones and a frosted finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation with a moderately dense, slightly firmer consistency that worked best with more of a pushing motion to pick up product off the surface of the pan. I’d recommend pressing it into place before blending, which helped to minimize fallout. It lasted well for eight and a half hours and left a faint stain behind.

the freaking plastic glitters again! Colourpop baby what is you doing? This could have been a great little palette!
I’m not sure if this one is part of the collection that contains the Swak palette, but that one was better.
This is just average, ordinary and not even that good. You must shake your head over what this brand has become Christine.
My Boo means ‘eye doctor ASAP’ in an obscure language.
Ridiculously large glitter particles aside, are the darker pink pigments not intended for the eye area? This type of shades frequently are, and that staining is suspicious to me.
