Coloured Raine Prove My Loyalty Highlighter and Blush Duo Review & Swatches
Prove My Loyalty
Coloured Raine Prove My Loyalty Highlighter and Blush Duo ($25.00 for 0.32 oz.) is a new, limited edition duo featuring a bright, silvery-white glittering highlight and a deep, matte red blush. The two shades were quite pigmented and easy enough to apply (even that red!), and the highlighter seemed to have more of a transparent base with tons of shimmer and sparkle, so it worked well for layering and may not be as prone to turning ashy on deeper complexions. The blush was extremely pigmented and even when I took great care to use as little as possible, it was still a lot of product for my cheeks, which is more of a note to potential buyers than a pro/con.
Prove My Loyalty
LELimited Edition. $25.00.
Prove My Loyalty (Highlighter)
Prove My Loyalty (Highlighter) is a bright, silvery-white that looked liked it had subtle pink and silver reflective sparkles throughout. It was more glittery than anticipated, and the texture felt emollient, which gave it a thinness but no powderiness and still good adhesion/hold with all of that sparkle when applied to my skin. The base seemed almost transparent rather than white-based, so I could see it potentially working more readily on more skin tones (than if it had a true white powder base). It had nearly opaque pigmentation that applied evenly and blended out well. It stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours with minimal glitter travel.

Prove My Loyalty (Highlighter)
LELimited Edition.
Prove My Loyalty (Blush)
Prove My Loyalty (Blush) is a rich, medium-dark red with cool undertones and a matte finish. It was intensely pigmented to the point where the merest, feathery tap of my brush into the pan yielded nearly opaque coverage on my cheeks–like I went as light as I thought I could and still ended up with a lot of coverage and intensity. When blended out, it tended to look pinker and more berry-like than a true-red; it’d have to be applied as really full-on coverage to get to true red. The texture was silky, smooth, and surprisingly blendable; the hardest part about applying it was getting the least amount of product possible to keep from having to blend out the edge so far from where it was originally applied. It wore well for nine hours before fading a bit.

Very pretty combo Miss Lorraine put together! Lovely for winter!
Because I do have Ofra Glazed Donut and UD Quiver, which I HAVE worn together last winter, I’m set already. I’m very happy that others can get the 2 similar shades together, though!
So glad you have similar shades! Quiver is a great dupe for the red shade.
Gotta admit, this is the one I was most curious about. I can handle the pigmentation of the blush, but the highlighter side is a no-go, especially now that I have a smooth, non-glittery, impressive, diamond-white highlighter from Black Moon.
What are your tips for working with this type of red blush, Alecto?
I use a super-feathery duofiber blush and apply the blush immediately (and I mean *immediately*) after powdering. I find really fresh setting or finishing powder is less likely to grab blush, and it blends out more smoothly. Sometimes I’ll tap and swirl a little bit on the back of my hand to smooth the pigment on the brush and take some of the excess off before I apply to my cheeks.
When I have a really powdery but not pigmented blush I go over foundation, or I go over powder that has been on my face for a while, that has “melded” for a bit. The opposite works best for intense blushes.
Those are some great tips, Alecto! 🙂 Definitely agree that sometimes swirling on the back of the hand helps – with super pigmented blushes, it is important that the product is more evenly distributed on the brush!
I don’t own a true red blush, if this one hadn’t gone a little pink on you, Christine, it’d be in my collection by now. What a beautiful and unique combo!
I’m so happy you reviewed this blush duo! I’m very attracted to this even though the highlighter is probably too light for me. I love a rose red flushed blush. I apply it lightly and buff over the edges with a fluffy face brush or if I go too deep with the red I lightly go over it with my Guerlain Meterorites powder to tone it down.I do have a couple of dupes though so I may wait for a sale.
