Ciate Matchmaker & Date Night Glow-To Illuminating Blushes Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Matchmaker
Ciate Matchmaker Glow-To Illuminating Blush ($26.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a medium-dark pink with warm undertones and a luminous sheen. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation that applied evenly on the skin. The texture was smooth to the touch, firmer and denser but not difficult to use–the type of texture that doesn’t kickup any excess product in the pan but still blends seamlessly on the skin. On me, the blush stayed true for eight and a half hours before fading.
The formula is supposed to have buildable pigmentation from “barely-there” color to “intense color” with long-wear. It had a smooth consistency with a firmer press, but it was not stiff or difficult to pickup color. From the four shades I purchased, the pigmentation varied from medium to semi-opaque, and they were certainly buildable to full coverage, though the formula itself was forgiving enough that the color could be sheered out as desired (and the powder was conducive to simply picking up less product as well). The swirled nature of the highlighter-and-blush concept did make the color vary a bit, and sometimes it appeared more shimmery than others (though the brand noted that each compact contains 50% of each).

Date Night
Ciate Date Night Glow-To Illuminating Blush ($26.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a muted, medium peachy coral with warm undertones and a frosted sheen. It had buildable color payoff from medium to mostly opaque. The consistency was soft, smooth, and blendable without being powdery or dusty in the pan. It sat well on my skin and did not accentuate the look of my skin’s texture, though it was certainly a shimmery shade! The color wore well for eight hours before fading on me.

How cute is that embossing?! The blushes are really pretty, too.
The finish has such a nice glow!
Man both the blush and pressing of these powders are so Pretty!
They are!
Happy to hear that these performed well, Christine! I have Date Night and Summer Love. Date Night shows darker on my fair skin (more like a subtle bronzer) and Summer Love is a light rosey peach on my skin. I like that there is no talc among ingredients. The star motif on the compact is very cute and the mirror is practical.
*rosy peach
How are you liking the formula overall? I was surprised they were so nice – I didn’t think they’d be bad, but they’re better than anticipated 🙂
I love the formula Christine ! I was surprised by it too, tbh. They are almost creamy upon touch and the colours adapt very well to the different skin tones. It’s almost like you cannot go wrong with them, if that makes sense. I wore Date Night on a tinted CC cream the other day and it looked gorgeous. Such a nice natural glow from within. The compact is practical as well – not too large, has a mirror and you can carry it easily in your bag. And the absence of talc is a bonus as they are not drying your face. Thank you for reviewing these ! 🙂
My pleasure, Nicole!
I love hearing from others who have tried new products since finding nuanced reviews can be tough sometimes! 🙂
Oh these are great! Stupid blushes! I HAVE SO MANY NOW AND I WANT MORE!
lol, awww!!
Probably the prettiest pattern I’ve ever seen on a blush! Makes me sad that I’ve got both duped to the gills. Although if Pinched should fail me after a year of neglect, then I’m eyeing Matchmaker!
Yeah, the downside to these is that they are dupable!
Eeek I had been hoping you would review these! Thank you 🙂 The product appeared …smaller? than average blush compacts on Instagram, but I started to doubt myself as I looked through more and more pictures. In some pictures it appeared similar to an eye shadow compact in size. I ultimately decided it appeared closer to an Hourglass compact (if it were round instead of square). ….but am I wrong? Lol help!
They’re similar in weight to NARS/MAC blushes if I’m remembering correctly, though the pan is not as large (physically) as either of those.
I like the subtlety of Date Night and I don’t have any of the dupes, have to check this one out. I like this brand a lot.
Let me know if you try it!
I’m so happy you reviewed these. They remind me of BECCA beach tint soufflé blushes.
Very similar in the look but in powder form!
Just love Date Night – really gorgeous shade of peachy coral – my favourite. It looks beautiful on you too Christine.
Thank you, Genevieve!
OMG, these are both stunning! Love the color and finish, trying to resist but resistance might be futile!
The finish on these is glorious if you love yourself some shine!
These are the two shades I have! Everything about them is gorgeous (that packaging…) and I love the glow they give. Someone mentioned that they look like the Becca souffles and I completely agree, but prefer these because they are powder. Gonna try and be good and let the rest go unpurchased, but gosh I love a good blush.
Happy to hear that you’re enjoying these, Holeigh!
