Ciate Candy & Infamous Glitter Flips Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Candy
Ciate Candy Glitter Flip ($19.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a muted, medium pink with neutral-to-warm undertones and a faint, pink sparkle. It had semi-opaque color coverage in a single layer, which went on evenly for the most part with a bit of color separating at my deeper lip lines. This was the least transformative/least sparkly shade in the range and went from more like a satin finish to a faintly glittery one after pressing my lips together. It was easier to apply from the tube as it did not seem quite as fluid as a lot of shades in the range were. It was medium in weight, somewhat clingy, and lightly drying after four and a half hours of wear.

Formula Overview
$19.00/0.1 oz. - $190.00 Per Ounce
The Glitter Flip formula is supposed to be a transformative "glitter liquid lipstick," where it goes from lightly metallic at dry down to glitter-tastic after pressing lips together. For most shades, there was a definite difference in finish after pressing lips together, but I found that it required two to three presses (and too many more resulted in product lifting away) for moderate to heavy glitter exposure. The pigmentation ranged from shade to shade but was typically more opaque than not. The formula itself is heavy--one of the heavier liquid lipsticks I've tried in awhile--and the liquid lipstick itself was incredibly fluid during application, which made it harder to control along the edges. It dried down fairly quickly, and while the edges were a challenge, it wasn't too difficult to apply overall.
The brand touts it as "non-drying" and "totally comfortable" and that it "will last all night." It was a drying formula--from lightly to moderately drying--and felt dry and heavy on the lips (I think it felt worse than it often looked!), while the wear ranged from four to six hours. The way it wore was probably a bigger concern: heavier fading from the center of the mouth but noticeable flaking and chunks of color/glitter coming away after a few hours of wear (especially if I ate anything).
It's a cool product, and absolutely true that they were less work than layering a glitter over another a product, especially if you prefer a more "matte metallic" finish (would be harder to get glitter to stick to a flat, matte lipstick!). I think they will be best for someone who uses a lip liner prior, doesn't mind fussing with the edges, and has been longing for a finish like this--but only if one can tolerate a drying product!

Infamous
Ciate Infamous Glitter Flip ($19.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a medium-dark, pinky plum with warmer undertones and a slightly, sparkling finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentatoin that applied fairly evenly, though it was a bit patchy after it dried down along my upper lip as color lifted when I pressed my lips together to reveal the glitter. There was some glitter that was exposed by pressing my lips together, but this was one of the less transformative shades in the range. It was, however, more comfortable to wear than others, as it felt a bit lighter on the lips. This shade lasted for four and a half hours and was lightly drying.

Infamous is coming today!
Let me know how you like it, Katherine!
These both look so beautiful, but don’t exactly sound terribly comfortable? I am able to wear my 2 KVD ELL’s, these though, sound even drier. If I thought I could deal with it, I’d get Infamous.
Yeah, the formula is not the best 🙁
Ciate is getting on my radar more and more often! This range is so worth checking out!
They have some cool products!
Infamous is a very pretty shade.
Yay!
I liked the Infamous color best but Candy wasn’t bad. I am relieved to see more non-matte lippies. The mattes seem so dry. They almost make my lips bleed on sight. I also think I love too old for the attempt look. I have good lips so prefer something to make them more noticeable but mainstream.
At least you have good lips 🙂
I love the look of Infamous and it isn’t easily duped but sold out everywhere. Will have to wait for a restock. I actually love the base color and rather wish it didn’t have the glitter but I still want to try it.
Hope you can get it soon, Deborah!
Not feeling these either. Every time I see drying I just get way more uninterested. A color/finish has to be really an A to A+ to get me to like it enough to consider it.
