Ciate Baby Doll & Summer Love Glow-To Illuminating Blushes Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Baby Doll
Ciate Baby Doll Glow-To Illuminating Blush ($26.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark pink with subtle, cooler undertones paired with warmer, golden shimmer. It had a luminous sheen that was pronounced on the skin but stopped just short of emphasizing my skin’s natural texture. It had buildable color payoff from medium to opaque that applied easily to bare skin and blended out almost effortlessly. The texture was smooth, finely-milled, and not at all powdery or dusty in the pan but very easy to pickup with a brush. It wore well for nine hours on me before fading slightly.
The formula is supposed to have buildable pigmentation from “barely-there” color to “intense color” with long-wear. It had a smooth consistency with a firmer press, but it was not stiff or difficult to pickup color. From the four shades I purchased, the pigmentation varied from medium to semi-opaque, and they were certainly buildable to full coverage, though the formula itself was forgiving enough that the color could be sheered out as desired (and the powder was conducive to simply picking up less product as well). The swirled nature of the highlighter-and-blush concept did make the color vary a bit, and sometimes it appeared more shimmery than others (though the brand noted that each compact contains 50% of each).

Summer Love
Ciate Summer Love Glow-To Illuminating Blush ($26.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a light-medium peach with a hint of pink paired with a luminous sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that was buildable to full coverage, but it was less “barely-there” as it was a fairly pigmented product. The texture was smooth, soft, and blendable, so it was more forgiving if one wanted to use a lighter touch or diffuse a lot for sheerer coverage. It had a strong highlighting effect on the skin, and this particular shade seemed to emphasize my skin’s natural texture slightly. The highlighting blush lasted for eight and a half hours on me.

I love my Baby Doll! I think it’s one of the best products Ciate has released in a long time. I wish Sephora would hurry up and get In Too depp in stock because I wanted that shade even more! (Can’t order it from Ciate as it’s not available on their US site 🙁 )
In Too Deep, not Johnny 🙂
I wonder what’s delaying it!
Wish I knew too. But interesting, if you go to the Ciate (US) site, it doesn’t even list that shade.
I might be crazy, but I swear Sephora actually had more than 5 shades initially available… it was just the 4 that are available now were the ones available then as well…
You are not crazy Christine 🙂 Sephora Canada lists 6 shades. I saw 5 of them available since the launch of the product (currently “In Too Deep” is out of stock), with one exception: the shade “Pinch Me”; I have never saw it available on the Sephora website (CA) but it’s there.
What’s funny is that the description of the same shades is different in some cases i.e. Date Night: described as Amber Pink (Sephora CA) vs Terracotta (Ciaté UK); Baby Doll: Rose Pink vs Dusty Pink; Pinch Me: Punchy Pink vs Coral.
Okay, glad to know I’m not crazy… well in this instance 😉
I’ll second that “In Too Deep” request!
Both are beautiful!
They are!
Beautifully glowy shades both! Strangely, my personal pan of LG Pink Grapefruit goes on like Baby Doll for some reason? I suppose mine just has more pink to the swirl.
Summer Love would make for a super luminous highlighter on me. I think it’s probably far too shimmery, though, and would emphasize my pores like mad.
Pink Grapefruit must be gorgeous on you 🙂
Let’s just say, there’s a reason why it’s one of my newer faves! ?
These are both so pretty!! Summer Love is the one I’d like to try.
They are!
I think i’m going to get Summer Love!! I LOVE the look and tone of this oh my goodness!!!! and you know I love me some shimmer in my blushes!!
Let me know how it works for you, Shannon!
Christine! The link for the Anastasia shadow sale at Sephora isn’t working! Is there a discount code we need to enter or something?
Looks like the majority of them sold out, sorry!
The Summer Love shade is just beautiful and Baby Doll would be pretty for pink lovers. A good product.
They are lovely! 🙂
Baby Doll is so pretty. ?
Agreed 🙂
Baby doll reminds me of Surratt Barbe a Papa.
I totally see what you mean!
These blushes are super cute!! I just ordered Baby Doll (after looking at your swatches) and I can’t wait to get it! And, I just wanted to let you know that I always reference your swatches on products before buying online because you have some of the best true-to-color swatches on the web and I have not been disappointed yet, Christine. And thank you for your in-depth reviews! 🙂
