Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Medium-Deep Cheek Palette Review & Swatches
Pillow Talk Medium-Deep
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Medium-Deep Beautifying Face Palette ($75.00 for 0.35 oz.) required a particularly heavy-handed approach to really get through the stiffer textures used throughout the palette. They seemed like a hybrid, gel-powder based formula, but the textures were stiffer than that, really needing to be pushed and swirled to get coverage. For those who prefer sheerer coverage, it should be workable, as the shades remained blendable on skin, which was where texture mattered the most.

Well, dang. I really love these shades, yet I may have enough close enough ones to get the same looks approximately: MAC Burnt Pepper? DoC Miramé? MJ Jet Girl? Essence Satin Coral? Just maybe? 🤷🏻♀️
I’m wondering whether all of these shades would suit a deeper skin tone – I just thought that shades 2 & 3 were a bit light on. Pretty nice, but I think you can get better quality when purchasing the shades individually to suit yourself.
Hi Genevieve, shades 2 and 3 are highlighters meant to give a glow, so they won’t be as pigmented as the blush shades. I don’t get the same level of pigmentation from the blushes that Christine has, so the look can be softer and more even across the four shades on light skintone.
Interesting there ones, hard to pick up, yet blends out really nicely and they all look pretty when applied. I really like #3 in this quad. It’s not a me-colour, but it’s so pretty!
I bought this palette to have different blush shades than I own from CT. The formula of the blush shades is stiff, so I marvel at the level of pigmentation that you drew out, Christine, especially shade #4. I went through a number of brushes (goat hair, goat/synthetic mix, synthetic) before finding that synthetic worked best for me to bring out the shade and build on it. The complaints against these palettes is that the blush shades aren’t pigmented but it’s the type of brush used that is the issue. I liked this palette so much that I purchased the lighter one as well. They should be marketed as warm and cool palettes vs fair/light and medium/tan.
Ooh, may I know which synthetic brush ended up working for you please? Thank you!!
Hi, I used a Bobbi Brown Blush brush and a Bobbi Brown Eye Blender brush. I think the formula softens with use. Today, I tried both palettes with these synthetic or synthetic-mixed (Smith) brushes and they worked well: a Sephora Concealer #57 brush (it beautifully polishes the shades into the skin, especially the highlighters), a MAC 127 duo fiber brush, and old MAC 129SE brush, and Smith Wedge Brush 157 and Smith Face Quill 154. Right now, I could use any synthetic brush and it would work with the palette but I started with a dense synthetic brush. Hope it helps!
The highlight ones make your cheeks look like shimmery Christmas ornaments. I like, like, like! They are lovely on you! I would never consider buying this due to the price, but your application makes me want to really think twice.
