Charlotte Tilbury Liv It Up Lipstick

Charlotte Tilbury Liv It Up Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and a creamy, lightly glossy finish. It had mostly opaque pigmentation that applied somewhat evenly, but it had moderate slip and moved around on the lips easily so it looked streaky at times. The color lasted for four hours, while the formula was lightly hydrating. Cle de Peau Chinoiserie (P, $65.00) is warmer (95% similar). Charlotte Tilbury Dolly Bird (P, $34.00) is less glossy (95% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Anderson (P, $36.00) is darker, less glossy (95% similar). Charlotte Tilbury Bosworth’s Beauty Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a bright, medium peony pink with warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had good color coverage, but it’s not what I’d call buildable as it starts of nearly opaque. The texture is thin, a little clingy, and isn’t the most flattering consistency on the lip as it accentuates any imperfections/texture on the lips. It lasted for four hours and was neither drying nor hydrating. Hourglass I Believe (P, $34.00) is darker (95% similar). MAC Peach Blossom Pink (LE, $20.00) is cooler (85% similar). Colour Pop Fetch (LE, $6.00) is lighter (85% similar). MAC Peach Blossom Pink (LE, $19.00) is glossier (85% similar). Bite Beauty Sweety (LE, $24.00) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). MAC Silly (LE, $20.00) is lighter (80% similar). Maybelline Pink Sugar (P, $7.99) is lighter (80% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty Jolly Molly (220) (P, $30.00) is lighter, glossier (80% similar). Kat Von D Backstage Bambi (P, $19.00) is darker, cooler (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Charlotte Tilbury Electric Poppy Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark reddish fuchsia with warmer tones and a matte finish. It had mostly opaque coverage that applied evenly and smoothly with a light, thin consistency that did emphasize the natural texture of my lips. This shade lasted for five hours and was a little drying while settling into lip lines slightly. Maybelline Fiery Fuchsia (DC, $7.49) is cooler (95% similar). Tom Ford Beauty L'Enfer (P, $55.00) is warmer, glossier (95% similar). Colour Pop Cougar (LE, $6.00) is cooler (90% similar). Chanel Infrarose (72) (P, $38.00) is more shimmery, darker, warmer (90% similar). MAC A Killing Smile (LE, $20.00) is lighter, brighter, cooler (90% similar). MAC To Matte with Love (P, $21.00) is warmer, less glossy (90% similar). Tarte Selfish (P, $20.00) is lighter, brighter (90% similar). Bite Beauty Mix (DC, $24.00) is darker, cooler, glossier (90% similar). Colour Pop Maxed Out (P, $7.00) is cooler (90% similar). Hourglass I Always (P, $34.00) is lighter, glossier (90% similar). MAC Mittai Pink (LE, $20.00) is cooler (90% similar). Make Up For Ever M203 (P, $22.00) is cooler (90% similar). MAC Privacy Please (LE, $20.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Fenty Beauty Candy Venom (P, $18.00) is darker, cooler (90% similar). MAC Moxie (LE, $20.00) is lighter, brighter, cooler (90% similar). Maybelline All Fired Up (P, $7.99) is warmer (90% similar). FORMULA OVERVIEW | Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) has two variations–the original, Kissing, and the matte, Matte Revolution, both of which are featured in the Hot Lips collection. The Kissing formula is supposed to be pigmented and luminous, while also being hydrating, while the Matte Revolution formula is designed to be matte, buildable, hydrating, and long-wearing in a matte finish. The Kissing range is creamier, light-medium in weight, comfortable and hydrating, and average wearing (three to five hours with most shades). The Matte Revolution formula feels velvety, thinner and somewhat clingy (I find that they can sometimes emphasize the texture of my lips or highlight imperfections), wear four to six hours, and are drying to lightly hydrating. Both formulas have a sweet, vanilla scent with no discernible taste.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Even though the formula may not be all that wonderful, as in clingy, the colors themselves are all ultra flattering with your skintone and coloring. Therefore, since other than eye color and my being a bit darker, we are within a similar frame, I may REALLY need that dupe in Maybelline Pink Sugar for a summer lift! SA’s @ Sephora keep pushing UD Wired and Checkmate on me…?

Could you look any more beautiful than with Liv? Much as I’d like to think not, the others are terrific, too, esp w/ the eyes. As expected, i’m on Katherine’s page: not my colors….but closer than coral… Wish CT were displayed within 100 mi of my location. Really like some of the originals, but hesitate to order blind, and always have some near-dupes.
