Chanel Voyage de Chanel Blush & Illuminating Face Palette Review & Swatches
Voyage de Chanel
Chanel Voyage de Chanel Blush & Illuminating Travel Face Palette ($70.00 for 0.38 oz.) is a soft, faded coral with a natural sheen. It was almost like coral and brown came together, but it wasn’t quite brown enough to be brown and yet was more muted than typical coral. Individually, the texture seemed firmer and softer depending on the shade (the true pink was firmest, the bronze was softest), but used together, I didn’t notice any differences in texture so much–it was sot enough to pick up well with a brush and not be too powdery, but it wasn’t the most luxurious powder I’ve seen from Chanel.
The brand recommended using it “for a sheer all-over effect” by using the included brush or a powder brush, though it can be used as a “face powder, bronzer or blush.” It had more medium to semi-opaque coverage; if I did a fairly even (as best as I could manage!) swirl throughout the compact, it was more semi-opaque, but if I concentrated my brush toward the left half, it was semi-sheer. Generally, though, it seemed pigmented enough that it may not be workable as a face powder for everyone. As a rusty bronzer over the edges of the face and such? Definitely. As a blush on cheeks? I’d agree. It applied evenly to my cheeks and blended out with little effort and yielded a subtle sheen once buffed into place. It stayed on well for eight hours on me before fading noticeably.

I love these quadrant compacts from Chanel, and still enjoy the previously released Coco Codes quad. I tend to pick up two shades at a time and/or layer individual shades. I find the shades pigmented, with a really nice sheen when applied. My go-to brushes to use with these quad compacts are the Smith Cosmetics 157 (current go-to brush), Smith Cosmetics 103, the Wayne Goss original fan brush, and Sonia G’s cheek pro brush.
I was really hoping that this would have been as near perfect as the other one Chanel last did with this same pan style, was it Code something? Sad to say, I can no longer remember the name! I do love the color that this imparts. The finish likewise looks lovely. Yet, I’m hesitant to pine for this version.
I definitely would be using this product as a blush, by swirling all the shades together. I really like the colours, although one of them maybe a bit too dark for me. But I love the concept. For the price, it could have rated better.
I like the fact that there are warm AND cool pinks/reds together in one palette. I think some of the most interesting looks cheeks or eyes use both, alternate between warm and cool.
It’s pretty but much too expensive for what it is, even for Chanel…
For seventy bucks and a B- rating this is a hard pass for me. The design is pretty though.
This is nice, but I feel that it’s a lot like their Coco Code from spring 2017, and especially the Harmony palette – was it 2016 that one came out? Anyway, for collectors such as myself, I don’t think this one is unique enough to warrant the spend. I’m a lot more excited about their summer collection!
This comment is going to sound a little weird but Chanel is my favorite HE brand even though their products are a crap shoot. I think because Chanel was one of the first HE brands I purchased I have a sentimental place in my heart for the brand. I purchase a lot of Chanel. This is one I will be passing on. Maybe I will pick up something from the next release but nothing for spring.
