Chanel Vivacite (88) Joues Contraste Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
Chanel Vivacite (88) Joues Contraste Blush
Chanel Vivacite (88) Joues Contraste Blush ($45.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a brightened, fuchsia-berry with cool, blue undertones and a satin-matte finish. There’s a barely-there sheen that becomes more noticeable when the blush is really buffed into the skin. Clinique Plum Pop (04) (P, $21.00)is lighter, more shimmery. Guerlain Cherry (02) (LE, $42.00) is a cream product. NARS Coeur Battant (LE, $29.00) is darker, brighter. NARS Angelika (P, $29.00) is slightly lighter, more muted, and has sparkle. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
The texture of the blush feels very finely-milled, but it also seems somewhat dry, so it doesn’t stick to skin well unless you’ve used a primer, liquid/cream foundation, or have normal-to-oily skin (any of these gives the powder blush something to adhere to). Since it doesn’t adhere well, the color payoff is semi-opaque but not buildable to full color coverage. It blended decently, but I wish that it was more blendable, as a richer shade like this can be more challenging to apply and blend to an even, smooth layer of color as a result. Once on, the blush wore well for seven and a half hours before starting to fade.

Nice! but already have Clinque Plum Pop..close enough 🙂
And way more impressive… Half the cost 😉
I like the colour!
I wish it performed better!
I totally agree with you..Though the color is pretty I was disappointed with the pigmentation and unevenness of this shade..However I fell in love with the canaille shade…Thanks for sharing your thoughts 🙂
Happy to hear Canaille worked for you!
what about the new bright pink matte Milani one?? looks close
It’s lighter/brighter – not as dark!
YOUR LIPSTICK is gorgeous!
Thank you!
This is very pretty, but I do have Nars Angelika already.
Good for your wallet!
Such a pretty shade! I wuld have definitely got this had the texture been a bit better!
I was disappointed for sure! It’s a really pretty color.
Love this shade, but I think I already own a few that are similar.
Phew! Your wallet is safe 😉
OMG! I need that blush! Everything from Chanel is just perfection.
Enjoy!
While lovely in the pan and I appropriate the sheerness of it, it’s not likely to last long on my dry cheeks. NARS or Clinique sound more viable!
I can’t see this going well on dry cheeks 🙁
Radiant Orchid trend spotting! <3
Haha!
Hm, doesn’t seem like it would work too well on my dry skin and powder finish foundation preferences 😉 It’s a pretty colour, but I agree that Plum Pop is workin’ it a little harder than this one!
Wayyy better!
The color is beautiful but I already own two of the dupes listed. Thank goodness I can skip this! Despite the dry texture it’s still pretty tempting lol
You can resist 😀
This looks gorgeous on you! I’ve got dry cheeks, so I’ll have to skip 🙁
Thanks, Jenn!
Sounds like a good idea – don’t think it would be great on drier skin unfortunately!
What lip color are you wearing in the last photo!?!? It’s amazing!
Guerlain Gems!
I purchased this and love it. I am able to build depth of color, nor any issues not using a primer. It is a totally different shade then the Tom Ford Narcissist.
I’m glad you like yours, Elizabeth!
I was so excited to see this swatched because I thought it would be a tad purpler, so I’m surprised at how pink it is! If I didn’t have Angelika, I might have gone for it anyway, but…c’est la makeup. 😉
It would have been quite interesting if it leaned purpler!
Hi Christine! Can I ask how do you think this one compares with MAC’s Prom Princess???
Prom Princess is darker, not quite as cool-toned, more muted. http://www.temptalia.com/submit-dupe?sbs=1&pid=164075&dupe=108882
It’s summer and my cheeks tend to get a bit oily because of the humid weather, so this may fare better on me. I guess I have to see Vivacite in person before I decide. :/
I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Vivacite!
