Chanel Vivacite (88) Joues Contraste Blush ($45.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a brightened, fuchsia-berry with cool, blue undertones and a satin-matte finish. There’s a barely-there sheen that becomes more noticeable when the blush is really buffed into the skin. Clinique Plum Pop (04) (P, $21.00)is lighter, more shimmery. Guerlain Cherry (02) (LE, $42.00) is a cream product. NARS Coeur Battant (LE, $29.00) is darker, brighter. NARS Angelika (P, $29.00) is slightly lighter, more muted, and has sparkle. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

The texture of the blush feels very finely-milled, but it also seems somewhat dry, so it doesn’t stick to skin well unless you’ve used a primer, liquid/cream foundation, or have normal-to-oily skin (any of these gives the powder blush something to adhere to). Since it doesn’t adhere well, the color payoff is semi-opaque but not buildable to full color coverage. It blended decently, but I wish that it was more blendable, as a richer shade like this can be more challenging to apply and blend to an even, smooth layer of color as a result. Once on, the blush wore well for seven and a half hours before starting to fade.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

I totally agree with you..Though the color is pretty I was disappointed with the pigmentation and unevenness of this shade..However I fell in love with the canaille shade…Thanks for sharing your thoughts 🙂

I purchased this and love it. I am able to build depth of color, nor any issues not using a primer. It is a totally different shade then the Tom Ford Narcissist.

I was so excited to see this swatched because I thought it would be a tad purpler, so I’m surprised at how pink it is! If I didn’t have Angelika, I might have gone for it anyway, but…c’est la makeup. 😉
