Plisse Lumiere de Chanel

Chanel Plisse Lumiere de Chanel Illuminating Powder ($70.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a light-medium gold with warm, yellow undertones and a soft, metallic sheen.

It’s described as a “powder highlighter [that] adds an ethereal touch of radiance.” The powder had good color coverage with a soft, smooth, and blendable texture; I felt like I had good control over whether I wanted a more subdued effect or an intense, metallic finish. It didn’t emphasize my skin’s natural texture, even when worn at higher coverage. It’s a lovely highlighter for someone who doesn’t already have several of the previously released limited edition (or several permanent options, at this point in the highlighting game!). If you have similar coloring to me, you may find it is “your skin but better” as it didn’t add noticeable color, just shine and shimer. The highlighter wore well for just over eight hours on me.

No lie, it sure is pretty, but also very easily dupable it would seem. I do have a weakness for gold highlighters, but the one by Dior and one by Nyx have more intensity.
But what really caught my eye? The eye look you did with the brown/pink palette! Here’s hoping it’s another Empriente du Desert in the finish and quality department.

How right you are about the eye look. I’m actually hoping the quad is crap because, really and truly, I do not want to WANT to buy any more eyeshadow, if you know what I mean. I don’t want anything great and irresistible because I know I’ll cave!

But, Nancy and Rachel, why can’t we STOP ourselves? That’s the thing. Still, when you think of the enjoyment relative to the cost, it’s a lot less “dangerous” than a similar addiction to sports cars or jewelry (the real stuff, not “fashion jewelry), etc. Nancy, I too have lots of shadows and palettes that are neglected and almost forgotten, not because they’re bad but because of the overabundance and being overwhelmed, as you say. I just took out a quad and a single that have been lying neglected for a while and I’m going to use them a lot this week – that’s my promise to myself.

I was actually agreeing with her original statement. I can stop myself, but I like to indulge in my hobby. I have a long history of depriving myself. So I give in to makeup, clothes, and jewelry when I can. When I can’t, I don’t buy.

If there were a point where I really couldn’t stop myself, I would be concerned. I have a huge stash by choice. It makes me happy.

I love this highlighter. Amazing. I was able to get it. I returned all the other ones that I bought because I wasn’t in love with them and they all emphasized my skin’s texture, but this one is dreamy.

My son picked this up for me when he was in Tokyo about a month ago and so I’ve had plenty of opportunity to wear it. When you said it was a my skin but better type of product, you hit the nail on the head. I am lighter than you, though, and so I actually get a hint of color that is a nice counter balance to my usual winter paler. In other words, it is ideal for spring as I gradually transition into warmer colors. Yes, it is easily duped, but if you don’t already have something like this and it appeals to you, this one by Chanel is a very nice option.

Christine, have you applied this all over your face or just on your cheeks/cheekbones? It is very pretty but a bit too spendy, especially in light of all the dupes and Meteorites I have that are begging to show at least a bit of use.
