Chanel Lilas d’Or (808) Ombre Premiere Longwear Cream Eyeshadow ($36.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a soft, light-medium pink with subtle, cooler undertones and warmer, golden pearl. It had semi-sheer coverage, which was only buildable to medium coverage, but it seemed creamier than other shades, so it was also more forgiving during application as it took a bit longer to dry down. I had more time to work with it, and it seemed more blendable in practice as a result. I could see it working best as a one-and-done lid color or as an eyeshadow base. It wore well for 14 hours, and even at that point, it did not look any different.
Chanel describes the formula as a “smooth-textured cream shadow [that] glides on effortlessly” and is “long-wearing.” There are eight shades (view swatches) released with one (Obscur) being limited edition. Overall, the consistency has moderate slip–emollient but not greasy or overly wet in feel–and feels more like a traditional cream eyeshadow than Chanel’s Illusion d’Ombres. They go on as a thin layer but have fairly good pigmentation. The formula dried down quite quickly leaving little time for blending or diffusing edges, even when working one eye at a time, which was where I struggled. I think some of them tended to work better as lid colors and using something else for a more diffused/blended out crease color. They did, however, wear impeccably for as long as fourteen hours on me–no creasing, fading, or flaking.

Chanel Obscur (816) Ombre Premiere Longwear Cream Eyeshadow ($36.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a deep black with neutral-to-cool undertones and barely-there bluish-teal pearl. It looked more matte on the lid than it did shimmery, but I think that satiny sheen helped it blend out more smoothly. The consistency was smooth, creamy with noticeable slip but did not feel greasy or wet to the touch. It applied well when pressed and lightly pulled on the lid for all over coverage, but it was harder to diffuse and blend out the edges as it dried down quickly and had a tendency to look uneven and ragged along the edges, even when I worked quickly. Once on, the eyeshadow did not budge or fade over a 14 hour period.

Chanel Silver Pink (814) Ombre Premiere Longwear Cream Eyeshadow ($36.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark brown with warmer undertones and pink and gold sparkle. It had semi-opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which was buildable to full coverage without having to wait for the initial layer to dry down. The texture was smooth, not too thick or too thin, and lightly creamy, which helped it apply evenly to bare skin and blend out decently. The edges were not as blendable once it dried down, but I was able to apply an even layer of product onto the lid without trouble. The eyeshadow still looked fully intact after 14 hours of wear.

Yeah, it’s a lot sheerer than most of the others!
So far none of these eyeshadow’s have me wanting to run out and purchase any even though they are very pretty.

Hi Christine, cream shadows are my favorite because of how easy they are to use but these shades seem to be so similar to so many other cream shadows out in the market even though they are very pretty. I own a lot of Chanel cream eye shadows already and Tom Ford & so many other brands. I also like Shiseido for the price. The only thing that would make we want these shades over similar shades; is if the quality and performance was outstanding.
SILVER pink? Looks like brown to me. I guess they named it for the sparkly stuff, huh?

Silver Pink looks like a full-on dupe of the old square shaped Nyx eyeshadow in Nutmeg! Which I wore to death in simple neutral eye looks for a few years. That pan is around 5 years old, though, so I’m eyeing this one now.?

It’s great that they wear all day and into the night, but if I can’t blend them seamlessly on the edges I’d get very frustrated. There’s nothing that drives me nuts like a cream eyeshadow that looks patchy around the edges… Blendability is very important for me.
Totally understand, Lulle — I think they can function better/worse depending on how you use them (or what you want to use them for). I was still able to get everything to come together fairly well, even with it being a little harder to blend out the edges, thankfully!
I love Lilas d’Or!!! I don’t have a problem with it being “semi-opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which was buildable to full coverage without having to wait for the initial layer to dry down.” as long as it doesn’t crease. It’s a perfect one & done which is especially nice for summer, but I can’t see paying that much for a single eyeshadow unless I used it all the time. 🙁 I’ll have to think hard on this one! Is it permanent?
I hear you, Pami — Lilas d’Or definitely works as a sheerer shade. Some of the darker shades wouldn’t be so great as sheer (uneven) but Lilas d’Or is totally wearable.
I’m not sure what to make of the cream shadows so far. I love cream shadows, though I don’t own any from Chanel. I’m encouraged by the reasonable ratings and knowing I’d likely wear a cream shade on its own or combine with a powder, in ways similar to Chanel’s website ‘looks’. Would like to try Lilas D’Or – what a gorgeous shade!
The pink one is very pretty, It would be a lovely summer shadow for the days when you just want a little wash of colour on the lids. I doubt I’ll buy it as it does cost quite a bit, and I have pink eyeshadows, quite a lot of them, to tell the truth 🙂
