Chanel Pinctada (214) Glossimer

Chanel Pinctada (214) Glossimer ($30.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a medium, fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a fine dusting of lighter pink shimmer. It had semi-sheer to semi-opaque color coverage, while the Glossimer formula is one of those that has pigmentation from sheer to opaque (hard to know what was intended, unfortunately, on a shade-by-shade basis). The texture was lightweight and comfortable to wear, though it did not apply as evenly as one would want. It wore well for four and a half hours. Dior Cruise (676) (P, $30.00) is darker, more muted (95% similar). NYX Sugar Cookie (P, $5.00) is lighter, brighter, cooler (90% similar). Urban Decay Savage (DC, $26.00) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Chanel Babiole (215) (LE, $30.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Bite Beauty Eleven (Watercolor) (LE, ) is less shimmery, lighter, brighter (90% similar). MAC Unlimited Style (LE, $21.00) is lighter, brighter, cooler (90% similar). Make Up For Ever 207 Candy Pink (P, $19.00) is less shimmery, warmer (90% similar). Dior Hollywood (688) (P, $35.00) is less shimmery, lighter, warmer (90% similar). Urban Decay Scandal (DC, $26.00) is less shimmery, darker, brighter (90% similar). MAC Love Buzz (LE, $20.00) is lighter, cooler (85% similar). Maybelline Opalescent Orchid (515) (P, $8.99) is darker, warmer (85% similar). MAC La Salsa (LE, ) is darker (85% similar). Sephora Glossy Pink (16) (P, $12.00) is lighter (85% similar). MAC Constant Craving (P, $24.00) is lighter (85% similar). Becca Snapdragon (P, $22.00) is darker (80% similar). NYX Funnel Delight (P, $5.99) is lighter, brighter, cooler (80% similar). Chanel Babiole (215) Glossimer ($30.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a bright, medium-dark fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a cream finish. It was semi-opaque and similar to Pinctada, just without shimmer and slightly darker. It applied a little more evenly, but it could still use some improvement. The texture was lightweight, comfortable to wear, while the color lasted for four and a half hours. Chanel Pinctada (214) (LE, $30.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Dior Hollywood (688) (P, $35.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). Urban Decay Scandal (DC, $26.00) is lighter, brighter (85% similar). Hourglass Ballet (P, $28.00) is lighter, brighter (85% similar). Make Up For Ever 207 Candy Pink (P, $19.00) is lighter, brighter (85% similar). Maybelline Opalescent Orchid (515) (P, $8.99) is more shimmery, warmer (85% similar). Estee Lauder Rosy Future (LE, $26.00) is lighter (85% similar). Bite Beauty Eleven (Watercolor) (LE, ) is lighter, brighter (85% similar). Urban Decay Quiver (DC, $26.00) is darker, warmer (80% similar). NARS Priscilla (P, $26.00) is lighter, brighter (80% similar). MAC Full Speed Ahead (DC, $19.50) is darker (90% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Chanel Clarte (216) Glossimer ($30.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is light, iridescent beige with cool-toned shimmer and a neutral-to-warm-toned base color. It had semi-sheer coverage with a fair amount of shimmer; this gloss is more shimmer than color, but it may lighten the natural lip color somewhat. It went on easily and lasted for four hours. Guerlain Star Dust (900) (LE, $30.00) is less shimmery, more muted (95% similar). Surratt Beauty Amethyste (P, $32.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). Chanel Songe (191) (LE, $30.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). Sephora Queen Bee (LE, $14.00) is warmer (90% similar). ColourPop Nonsense (LE, $10.00) is darker (90% similar). Pat McGrath Pale Fire Nectar (P, $30.00) is less pigmented (90% similar). MAC Sugar Coat (LE, $18.00) is warmer (90% similar). MAC BijouxBlond (LE, $20.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Maybelline Just a Glimmer (P, $4.49) is less shimmery (90% similar). Too Faced Unicorn Tears (LE, $19.00) is darker (90% similar). Bite Beauty Opal (LE, $22.00) is cooler (90% similar). Pat McGrath Future Femme (P, $30.00) is more shimmery, darker, cooler (85% similar). Urban Decay Candy Flip (P, $20.00) is darker (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Of the two fuchsia shades, I much prefer Babiole as it at least has a nicer, more uniform in coverage formula. Although I wouldn’t go in for $30 fuchsia lip gloss, because I’m not enough of a fan of fuchsia on me!
Clarte is ok….but I would’ve loved to have seen it be even more obviously iridescent! Like those LE Sephora ones a few months back! ?

I think these all are nice. but, I hold Chanel glosses to a high standard because of that price tag. I think the two pink are subpar and easily duped. But, for someone who prefers a subdued gloss to the less opaque glosses that are popular, these may be a good option. I have too many of the dupes and I can just add sheer them out if I wan them less intense. I’m totally eyeing Clarte though! I really need no more glosses! I love the moisture in Chanel glosses and this would stretch my Rose de Lune. I’m totally nuts. Aren’t I? lol

I agree! I do love the formula and it should be all of those for the price. I couldn’t resist Clarte when I saw Nordsrom had it online today!
While we are on the subject of hydrating glosses, we should talk about Sephora brands new Colorful Gloss Balm. OMG..LOVE. I have a feeling you have tried it Christine or at least have it in a pile waiting. If not, get yourself some! I recommend Virginia, Berry go Round, Earth Angel, & Hot Pants ( because the name made me buy it). Those are the ones I own and they are fabulous. They are sheer, but somehow pigmented and so hydrating! Oh, the applicator is awesome! I’m just loving these now. Not going to replace my lipstick for all the time. But, the may get the best new product from me for 2016. Sorry for the super long comment. 😀

I’m not a lipgloss person, but these are all really pretty shades! Clarte looks like it would make a nice top coat to a matte lipstick if you wanted to make it glossier and shimmery-er (and lighten it up a bit).

The little magpie in me is loving the sparkles in Clarte! And Babiole is pretty pigmented for a Chanel gloss. Between Sephora Panetone , MAC Pink Flamingo, and Chanel, guess pink is in for spring!

I love the pink glosses, they’re a bit expensive for me though. At least there are reasonable dupes. And for Clarte, I have Queen Bee!

They are all very pretty, but I don’t like to pay as much as these are for a gloss. I might just investigate the Maybelline counter instead. I rub my lips togheter far too much, such a stupid habit, and hard to break, so glosses disappears quicly on my lips, therefore no really expensive ones, unless quite unique, of course, or I fall really hard for one, but my wallet is safe regarding these.
