Chanel Legendaire, Pirate, Rouge Brulant Rouge Allure Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Legendaire (157)
Chanel Legendaire (157) Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour ($38.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a deep, raspberry red with cool undertones and a luminous finish. It had mostly opaque, buildable color coverage that adhered evenly across my lips and was forgiving of lip texture (like flakes/dryness).
The lipstick had a lightweight, lightly emollient texture that was thin but not clingy, which ensured it didn’t slide around during wear but was comfortable to apply and to wear. It stayed on well for five hours and felt hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$45.00/0.12 oz. - $375.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have a "satin finish" with "ultra-thin pigments" that yield "full coverage" while also having a moisturizing base. Most shades in the range have a satin to luminous finish--not glossy but they have a luminosity to them that gives the appearance of lighter-weight color and smoother, fuller lips that a true satin finish doesn't have (in my experience).
The texture has a more velvety feel--smooth with great glide but not a lot of wetness, so they go on comfortably but feel very lightweight and thin but don't emphasize lip lines/lip texture. The coverage tends to be more semi-opaque to opaque, so they aren't always living up to the "full coverage" claim.
Most shades wear four hours or longer with some of the deeper and richer hues lasting six hours or more, and the formula has been hydrating for me. They have a subtle, floral scent but no discernible taste.

Rouge Brulant (191)
Chanel Rouge Brulant (191) Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour ($38.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a brighter, medium-dark coral with moderate, warm undertones and a luminous sheen. It had semi-opaque, buildable color payoff that adhered evenly to my lips and was comfortable to wear.
The texture felt lightweight, thinner but not in a clingy way, and had light slip that helped it glide on well but kept it from feeling slippery while worn. It could have been more smoothing, as I tend to find this formula is. It wore well for four and a half hours and felt hydrating over time.

These all look fabulous! I’m loving the soft luminosity vs obvious frost with these. Thought for sure that Pirate would be my first choice, but Legendaire has something truly special about its tone. My Mom used to love either rose or dark raspberry lipsticks on me, so that’s probably what’s influencing me.
All of these colors are gorgeous, I want them all! However, do you have a full face photo for Legendaire? I wanted to compare it to a couple of other similar colors before deciding. 😉
So sorry, that’s fixed!
I have Pirate from a few years ago and I love it but oh my gosh, Legendaire is truly the stuff legends are made of! How breathtakingly beautiful. And how I wish there was still a Chanel counter in my neck of the woods!
All three are beautiful shades, but I do like the Rouge Brulant one the best.
I have quite close dupes for both Legendaire and Pirate, but I still want both. They look absolutely beautiful.
