Chanel L'Aristrocatica & L'Indomabile Rouge Allure Velvets Reviews, Photos, Swatches
L'Aristrocatica (65)
Chanel L’Aristrocatica (65) Rouge Allure Velvet ($37.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium coral with warm, orange undertones and a satin finish. It was shinier than most of the Rouge Allure Velvets I’ve tried, and it was a lot less pigmented and did not apply evenly. There was subtle streakiness along the edges of my lips, but the product also pulled into my lip lines from the get-go. The consistency was smooth and velvety, which made it comfortable to apply and to wear, but it just did not appear that flattering on. On me, it lasted for four hours and was lightly hydrating on.

Formula Overview

The Rouge Allure Velvet formula is supposed to be a "non-drying matte lipstick" with "intensely rich, long-wearing colour" and has a "velvet matte finish." Over time, I felt like the formula has improved and is actually non-drying (the original launch did not wear well on me) to lightly drying (seen more in shades that have lasted six to eight hours). The pigmentation varies from shade to shade but is usually semi-opaque to opaque with a semi-matte to satin finish. The texture had a velvety, glide-on feel that doesn't feel particularly creamy or wet, yet the lipstick is comfortable to wear over the four to six hours it typically lasts for. Like most Chanel lip products, they have a rosy scent but no discernible taste.

L'Indomabile (66)
Chanel L’Indomabile (66) Rouge Allure Velvet ($37.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a rich, deep red with subtle, warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. The pigmentation was semi-opaque in a single layer, and it did not seem to build up much beyond that–it was never full coverage. The lipstick felt smooth, velvety, and thin without being clingy as it skated across my lips with ease. The color went on evenly and stayed on well for six hours, though it felt non-drying over time.

I guess with the first lipstick it shows that even HE brands and prices doesn’t always make a great lipstick. But I do like the shade of the second one.
L’Indomabile is gorgeous, plus I like the name though I would probably butcher it if I tried to say it.
L’Indomabile is another stunner, I love how it’s just this side of warm, easier for me to wear!
Too bad about L’Aristrocatica, the color is pretty. I love your eye look in these photos & see you used the Affresco palette. The green shade is especially pretty; it really pops with your eye color! I’m thinking the palette is a little warm for me. Reminds me of fall – I’ve been a little puzzled by the color selection/timing of Chanel’s recent releases.
L’indomabile is all that. Finally figured it out…why the Chanel names are in Italian, rather than French. The name thing has been gnatting at me. Lucia Pica. Quelle Stupida, moi.
Ah, that cherry red stain look of L’Indomabile is just my cup of tea! Hopefully, I can find a dupe lurking around in my stash….?
