Chanel Intrigue Glossimer Review, Photos, Swatches

Chanel Intrigue Glossimer ($29.50 for 0.19 fl. oz.) is described as a “red-brown.” It’s a medium-dark, subdued red–it’s warm, brown-hued, and shimmer-less. MAC Pret-a-Papier is a bit redder and has lots of shimmer. Chanel Braise has shimmer and is slightly more plum. MAC Looks Like Sin is similar. MAC Whoops is brighter, more coral.

Intrigue is very comfortable to wear, because the consistency isn’t too thick or too thin, so it feels lightweight on lips but still has a cushion-y feel.  The texture is non-sticky as well.  This shade wore for four hours on me with semi-opaque color coverage, minimal settling into lip lines, and even color overall.  It has a delightfully high-shine finish that gives lips an illusion of fullness.

This looks like a great option for those just venturing into reds/deeper shades, or for those apprehensive to wear them. It also seems like a nice option for a very conservative office look. It’s very pretty, but a bit too “tame” for my tastes/needs.

What a nice shade! It’s dark enough to be perfect for fall, but not so dark it can be frightening for some (like me!). I’m really tempted now. But I tend to like F/W makeup collections more anyway, I think those red/plum/brown shades suits me better.

(Christine, do you plan on reviewing the newest “luminous” shades of the Rouge Allure range? Even though I do hope you’ll save some time to go on a honey-moon!)

Beautiful gloss but the price is more than I care to pay so I’ll stick with my Nars Como and Clarins Gloss Prodige (want to get one or 2 more of those). I’m not a huge wearer of gloss so the ones I have or am planning to get will do me just fine.
