Chanel Intime (93) Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick
Chanel Intime (93) Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick ($35.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “soft pink.” It’s a light-medium, pink-beige with warm undertones and a soft shine. It had sheer color coverage–it primarily lightened my natural lip color. It doesn’t apply as evenly as I’d like, and on me, it’s only lightly moisturizing. The color lasts two hours on me, which is below average for lipstick, though this is a more emollient, higher slip formula, so it’s not a surprise. Revlon Demure (105) (P, $8.99) is more matte. Tom Ford Beauty Summer Fling (04) (LE, $49.00) is pinker, more pigmented. YSL Nude Beige (1) (P, $34.00) is more opaque, lighter. Too Faced Taffy (P, $21.00) is more pigmented, warmer. Chanel Melba (75) (LE, $34.00) is more beige. Revlon Pink Lemonade (P, $7.49) is a touch lighter, less glossy. MAC Shy Shine (P, $16.00) is more pigmented, warmer, darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Chanel Confident (94) Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick ($35.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as an “intense rosewood.” It’s a medium, rosy brown with warm undertones and a soft shine. The color payoff was semi-sheer, so it did change the natural lip color but let a lot of it come through, so it may look different applied to you if you have more pigmented (or significantly different natural undertones) lips. The color lasted for two and a half hours and was lightly hydrating but applied well. Givenchy Nude Guipure (106) (P, $36.00) is more opaque, lighter. Givenchy Rose d’Exception (206) (LE, $36.00) is slightly pinker, more opaque. MAC Shanghai Spice (LE, $16.00) is browner. Guerlain Jicky (P, $35.00) is browner. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Chanel Viva (95) Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick ($35.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as an “intense fuchsia.” It’s a slightly brightened, medium-dark fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a very faint shimmer and moderate shine. It had semi-opaque color coverage–more than most shades in this formula–and lasted for three and a half hours. It was lightly moisturizing while worn. My guess is “intense” is used to describe greater-than-normal pigmentation. MAC Good Taste (P, $22.00) is brighter. Bite Beauty Vigne (P, $24.00) is lighter. Tom Ford Beauty Incorrigible (08) (LE, $49.00) is brighter. MAC Quite the Thing! (LE, $17.00) is similar. MAC Heavenly Hybrid (LE, $16.00) is slightly more plum. Revlon Fuchsia Shock (P, $7.99) is a touch brighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Chanel Aura (96) Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick ($35.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “plum.” It’s a medium-dark, subtly warm-toned plum with a luminous shine. It had sheer color coverage that applied fairly evenly. It seemed to pull into lip lines over time (noticed after an hour of wear) and lasted three hours on me. It was lightly hydrating. Givenchy Violine Precieux (312) (LE, $36.00) is more matte, more opaque. MAC Sweet Succulence (LE, $16.00) is darker. Chanel Ce Soir (P, $34.00) is warmer. Chanel Destinee (P, $34.00) is cooler-toned. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Viva is so pretty!
It’s a fun way to wear fuchsia without going full-on, bright fuchsia!
OMG, the first two shades! <3
Right up your alley!
Loved Aura and viva!!! All the shades look pretty on you Christine! 🙂
Thank you, Vineetha!
Really like Confident(94). Love those warm rosy browns.
Me too!
Aura & Viva are my favorites of these though I won’t be buying.
I wish the formula was more moisturizing and/or longer-wearing.
I currently don’t have an opinion on the lipsticks yet but…. Christine your eye makeup is ON POINT!!!! I LOVE it. I may have to pick those up even with the lukewarm reviews.
Thank you, Emma!
Aura and Viva are nice, but at this price tag I’m not so sure if I want them…
If they were more moisturizing, it would be more compelling!
All four of these look gorgeous on you. And, I know the blush in Innocence did not perform well, but, it looks positively angelic on you in these photos. Chanel should be using these photos to promote this collection…that’s how great you look! Seriously.
Thank you, Eliz! 🙂
I think except for Viva the rest are hardly pigmented! more like a colourless balm on you Christine! qite disappointing for someone with pigmented lips like me 😐
They are designed to be on the sheer side, which can be a product that gets redundant if you have more pigmented lips!
These are a lot more sheer than I expected. The shimmer in Viva is sooo pretty!
Viva is nice!
I think these are too sheer for me. I think these would be nice for sheer lipstick lovers.
Yeah, the Shine formula is great for those who prefer a sheerer coverage!
Meh, not enough color/coverage for me for the price. 😉
The Rouge Coco or Allure line is probably a better match for ya!
I love the first three on you!!!! So naturally pretty and flattering. You look so naturally lovely! Too bad the wear isn’t so long but they are so worth the extra hassle! Love!
Thanks, Megan! Are you going to indulge in any Chanel fall?
I love the sheerness! And like u said above, that you can have the color without the full on opacity.
Glad ya liked ’em, Dani 🙂
I need all 4 of these!!!
Yay!
Aura is so intense in bullet but liked how it turned out on lips.. though VIVA is hands down the winner here. 🙂
Yay! Happy you liked it!
The shades are quite pretty, but Aura would be perfect if only it were a touch darker and more opaque. It’s nice as it is, but it didn’t take my breath away like I was expecting it to 🙁 But you kind of made my day with your look: I love the understated use of yellow eye shadow, and will have to steal that idea from you since I’ve been at a loss for nice ways to wear yellow.
Hope you can try the pop of yellow in a look 🙂
Ooh… Viva might be a replacement for the eyeshadows I was eyeing for my sister! 😀 I actually really like the way Confident looks on you too!
Viva is interesting – not too bright but not totally muted!
VIVA is so soothing on eyes 🙂 all shades are beautiful on you
never tried coco shines personally 🙁
Thank you, Rashmi!
It’s not my fave formula.
I liked Viva, but I’m not one for sheer lipsticks. This one I might consider buying, or look closer at the less costly dupes.
I prefer medium to full coverage lipsticks, so then I can always sheer it out if I want!
these are very sheer, just like tinted lip balms
They’re designed to be a sheer formula! 🙂 If you want more opacity, the Rouge Cocos or the Rouge Allures would be more up your alley!
Viva and Aura would be my picks from the bunch. I like how Vivia is very fuchsia but in sheer way!
Will you be getting either, Erin?
If Viva’s LE, I should probably get it ASAP so I don’t have any regrets later 😀
Let me know if you try it!
They’re all really pretty and they go quite well with that eye look (which, by the way, is gorgeous)!
Thanks, Sandra!
Intime and Aura looks stunning on you, Christine!!!
Thanks, Abigail!
If the finished look was the same as what was in the tube, I may consider trying one. I guess I’m of the minority in that for the price I certainly expected better, even though these are supposed to be semi-sheer. How Intime and Confident swatch is a real disappointment, with Aura being the most disappointing. Viva is quite nice, but I have a few similar shades in brands that were reasonably priced. Pass.
I think it’s more about what you want – so if you want more pigment, then it’s just the wrong formula, you know?
Yes, very true. With these being called lipsticks, I guess I was hoping for the color in the tube. Thanks for the super helpful swatches!
My rec would be to maybe look at the regular Rouge Coco range for more color 🙂
