Chanel Enjouee Rouge Allure Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches

Chanel Enjouee Rouge Allure Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.12 oz.) is pink-coral with a soft, almost frosted sheen. Laura Mercier Kissed Lips is lighter, not as vibrant. Make Up For Ever Folk is softer, sheerer. Guerlani Gracy is darker, deeper. MAC Watch Me Simmer is a bit lighter and brighter. Guerlain Chamade is redder. MAC Ultra Darling is less coral, more subdued. Wet ‘n’ Wild Hot Paris Pink is redder in tone.

I noticed that it looked darker and warmer in the tube, but when applied, it’s more muted (at least, compared to the color of the tube itself!).  Enjouee delivered full color coverage, which applied evenly, but I did notice that it had a more noticeable sheen–almost looking a bit frosty.  The texture seemed a little drier compared to Coromandel, which was the first shade I tested of the newly reformulated Rouge Allures.  I wore this shade for six hours, and my lips felt slightly dehydrated.  Not chapped or cracked but the lipstick could have been more hydrating with its longer-lasting formula.  So while it hits it out of the park for having rich color payoff and long-wear, as promised, it misses on the hydration.

Shame about the frosty finish, this colour would look so much better if it would have a cream finish. I generally dislike Chanel lipsticks, though, especially Rouge Cocos are so drying on me 🙁

I love this! I was deciding between this and Dior Lucky and ultimately went with Lucky because that’s limited edition. Now I’m deciding between this and Guerlain Chamade.

This is exactly the shade I hoped Enjouée would turn out to be! Franly I’m a bit relieved it’s more muted compared to what it looks like in the tube. I can’t wait to try it on. The only drawback is its drying texture… My lips get dry REALLY quickly, so it’d be quite annoying.

This one is really pretty, and I don’t have anything quite like it. I don’t have many corals at all, tbh. I may pick this up! Christine, do you know what number it is?

The color looks more pink on my lips. Among these lipsticks, Chanel Allure, Coco Shine, Giorgio Armani sheer, Dior Nude,Bobbi Brown rich lip color, and Burberry lip cover, which one would you recommend for hydration? What I want most out of a lipstick is hydration, then shine/shimmer, then coverage; I don’t care for longevity, nor pigmentation; and I dont like lipgloss. Thanks.

I really love that we happen to have similar color, I get lots of good shade ideas from your reviews. I would’ve expected this to pull very orange but it actually looks surprisingly pink. Very pretty

You can wear any color…has to be your skin tone and the lighting. This looks better on you than on the tube.
You can wear these light shades, that Yum Yum Candy that I wish I could wear, those neutral bland brown shades, those bright reds, and those atrocious OCC lip shades in purple and lime green….they made not be the best on you, but you can still wear them and still look normal. If I wear some of those Bobby Brown and MAC middle eastern shades that MAC says, I would look like a corpse…and this color will not even show up well on my yellow skin tone.

This definitely looks more pink in the swatch than I expected from the neon coral tube color.

I’ve loved Folk for a while now. It’s a shame I haven’t been able to find it at Sephora.

This color looks really nice on you. I think that this would be my color, however, I have had such bad luck with Chanel lipsticks. They look so nice in the tube (never try a lipstick directly on my lips), yet when I get them home, the consistency is never quite right.

Except for their nailpolishes, Chanel definitely underwhelms me.

For high end splurging, I must return to La Prairie. Their makeup is gorgeous through and through.

I find it a bit drying on my lips. Also it is bright, but definitely not unwearable. I quite like that Chanel did a colour, that is a bit different to their usual colour range. Also this one is very pigmented and covers my natural lip colour easily.
