Guerlain Gracy Rouge G Lipstick
Another Summer Hue Just in Time for Fall
Guerlain Gracy Rouge G Lipstick ($48.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a warm coral-pink with a little hint of red. It has almost imperceptible pearl; there’s a minor reflection and sheen but no obvious shimmer particles. MAC Watch me Simmer is much lighter. MAC Force of Love is pinker and lighter. Wet ‘n’ Wild Hot Paris Pink is a smidgen lighter but close. Make Up For Ever #38 is less pink but a little brighter. OCC Trollop is lighter and pinker. MAC Fusion Pink is redder and has a pink iridescent sheen. Chanel Phoenix is a bit lighter and has noticeable pink shimmer.
Bright and bold with full color coverage and a natural finish, Gracy is more summer than fall, even if it is part of the fall release. Â The color glides on and hugs lips without feeling clingy, while the formula itself wears for six and a half hours and keeps lips well-hydrated the entire time. Â I did not experience any feathering or bleeding lip color.
Like the rest of the range, there is a perfume-like scent attached to these but no discernible scent. Each is packaged in a hefty silver metal case that has a flip mirror. I appreciate the sleek design of the case, and it feels very luxe to hold, but from a practical purpose, they’re kind of heavy to keep your bag, and there’s no great way to store them (the top and bottom are curved), and they do hold fingerprints.

How does that compare to YSL Rouge Volupte #27 Rose Paris and Chanel Rouge Allure Genial?
They all seem pinky coralish:)
Awww so pretty xx
Hi Urska!
I don’t have Rose Paris, but Genial is pinker and a bit lighter.
Christine, do you have the new Moth Brown? If you do it would be great to see a comparison to the original. I love you blog, thanks for all your hard work 🙂
Hi Jane,
The only Moth Brown I have is the one MAC sent me for By Request, which I posted a couple of months ago – sorry, I do not own the original!
When I saw this, I gasped and said “oh NO!” out loud… because I just knew I was going to love it. And I do! So beautiful! And since I already have 1 Rouge G and totally adore the formula, I might just have to fork over the $48 for this baby, too.
I really like this, but I’m not sure I want to buy it. I don’t know why, just it’s not calling to me saying “You MUST own me”. I suppose that’s good for my wallet?
Don’t question it! Save your wallet!
I went to the mall today. And the Burberry counter. My wallet is crying. I was saved by Chanel being out of the Fleur de Lotus blush!
Ooh almost a perfect score, eh? It is a lovely color. Probably not something I’d wear a lot myself, but for some reason it’s still calling my name… Melissaaaaa… come and buy meeeee…
Haha! Shh, shh!
Can I just ask, do you ever give 5/5 for packaging? I don’t recall ever seeing you do. 🙂 I do understand that Rouge G lipsticks won’t get 5/5 as that case weighs a ton, etc. though. Oh and by the way, I have this and love it!
I’ve given over 80 products perfect scores, actually 🙂 Primarily Bare Escentuals & NARS. What I look for depends on the product – I look at over 15 different characteristics (not all apply).
Oh have you? I’ve clearly missed those, lol.
Yep! I went through my spreadsheet so I could find them 🙂 A lot of products don’t stand up to dropping, so that’s why you won’t see a lot of perfect scores. And then a lot of products that might, like metal, hold fingerprints!
Gorgeous color, not in my budget . Time for petty Emily to raise her head to remark that “Gracy” is pronounced “Grack Kee” in my head. I would have prefered “Gracie”, but there’s my petty, shallow years of pinafores in a private non-denominational, all girls school for ya. I think that might be all I retained. My parents would be so proud. This same thing drives me up the wall about Zoya names. I am not easy to live with.
I feel like Guerlain has a shade called GraCie, actually…
Ahh! Then of course there are only so many “G” names 🙂
There’s a Grace, not Gracie. 😉 It was one of the holiday lipsticks, came out the same time as Gems. 🙂
But there’s also a Gracia – #66. It’s a muted plum shade.
the full face makeup looks so lovely on you 🙂
Thank you!
This looks like my Korres mango butter lipstick in Coral, which I love!
Awesome!
Maybe it’s just me but the #1 reason I would want one of these lipsticks is just for the case. To be able to whip it out of my purse or my pocket and apply it to my lips. Hella yes!
LOL! The case is very luxe and hefty and all things luxury, really. It’s only when you start having more than few that you’re like, “Wait, how do I store these?” Then you try reading the back and have to break out the magnifying glass.
ha totally agree! With the first one you feel like a bond girl and then the novelty wears off! Although I find lots of men fascinated with the design when I whip it out! 😉
@ Christine: Luxe is a good choice of words!! 😀 Der on me! I didn’t even think about storage issues. I’ll pretend I didn’t read that part. LOL!
@ BIAC: Love the name BTW! Your post made me LOL! Thanks!
Hi Christine! how similar this color is to Speak Louder by Mac? BTW it looks lovley on you!!
Less pink and darker!
I was scrolling down quickly to read the blush name on your cheeks..I am pleasantly surprised to see NARS Orgasm! Its looking so amazing on you Christine ! I have always refrained myself from buying that shade. Now, seeing this pic, I know I ll walk upto Sephora to try that once again..
BTW nice lipstick shade and great review..thanks !
Thank you, Neha! 🙂
Definitely check it out – and if Orgasm isn’t for you, maybe Deep Throat?
This color is so beautiful! I’d wear it year-round. Thank you for sharing
My pleasure, Maya!
I love this colour..just my kind of thing for the summer. But you know, I really do think this would look fabulously sophisticated paired with any of this fall’s purple/burgundy fashions rather than matching lips to clothes. It would give a nice bright focal point. I’m going to have to add this lippie to my must have list.
Yay! I hope you have a chance to check it out, Wendy!
What a beautiful colour! Love this!
This is a gorgeous pinky-red. Love that on you!
$48.00 for lipstick – really?!? That’s obscene (but the color is sure pretty)!
Christine could you please tell me the number of the shade 🙂
76
this is an absolutely gorgeous, perfect pink on you!! although it is so glam, i do not think i can justify $48 for a lipstick. but OMG….that UD baked liner is AMAZING!!!! i must buy that asap!
can you please tell me what you use to moisturize your lips? your lips always look so healthy and moisturized.
I use Jack Black Lip Balm!
