Brun Roussi

Chanel Brun Roussi Blush Lumiere ($70.00 for 0.49 oz.) is a darker, reddish-copper with moderate, warm undertones and a satin finish. It had a firmer, moderately-dense texture that felt like a gel-powder hybrid to me, which meant that it had to be used with a denser brush to get an even pickup of color (due to the surface being firmer), but the color released readily and deposited well onto bare skin.

It had opaque color payoff that diffused with ease on bare skin as well as over foundation. The more I buffed and blended out the color, the more satiny the finish became. This shade stayed on nicely for nine hours before fading visibly.

I bought both these blushes and love them. But the orange one is too orange. The brush that comes with it doesn’t do justice to the blush. Am not getting anything else. Glad that it looks lovely on you

This is a beautiful blush shade that applies and blends beautifully. I found it to be nicely buildable using the airy 2017 Wayne Goss Holiday Brush made from blue squirrel bristles, which I reach for when using pigmented blushes. I also tried Wayne’s Brush 12 (tightly bound undyed goat hair) and it applied more pigment yet still buildable. For dupes, I reached for the original Tom Ford Savage and found Brun Roussi to be more red in undertone and Savage more coppery. On my skintone, which is light with pink undertones, Savage stands out more because the formula is immensely pigmented in comparison and the copper cuts through the reddy shade where Brun Roussi adds brown-red and luminosity. Brun Roussi pairs nicely with the collection’s Baume Essential in spite of it’s iridescent pink shade.
