Blush Camelia Peche

Chanel Blush Camelia Peche Joues Contraste Blush ($48.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a medium coral with warm undertones and a satin finish. It was a limited edition blush released for Cyber Monday (2017), and it sold out in less than two days–it was gone by the time my package arrived the next morning!–so I’m really just here with some dupes, I guess.

The blush is comprised of two of the brand’s blush shades–Espiegle (discontinued) and Malice (permanent)–and comes in a blush-sized compact with a floral pattern. The consistency was smooth, silky, and blendable on the skin with good pigmentation that was buildable to full coverage with a second layer. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me before fading.

Formula Overview

$45.00/0.17 oz. - $264.71 Per Ounce

The Joues Contraste formula is supposed to have “buildable coverage, from natural to dramatic” with a “flattering radiance” and “silky texture.” The pigmentation ranges from semi-sheer to fully opaque, depending on technique and skin tone, but it seemed exactly as described–buildable–without having to pile it on or spend too long sheering it out. The formula has an extremely smooth, silky consistency that blends out beautifully on the skin. Most shades wear around eight hours on me.

The formula is rose-scented but the scent was largely undetectable applied (but noticeable in the compact).

This looks so pretty – I love floral designs on the surface of products but my heart always droops a bit when using these products causes the design to vanish (I felt especially sad with Guerlain’s Cruel Gardenia). This is too warm and peachy for me but it is a thing of beauty to look at.

It’s a nice blush but so dupable. It seems that it was not launched in Canada and in UK and I’ve read on Instagram that it’s not known if it will be available in these countries towards the end of the year or next year.
Personally, I’m disappointed that Chanel did not even bother to come up with a new pattern/design as this is the same used for the Camélia Rosé from the Chanel Reverie Parisienne makeup collection for spring 2015. They released a blush with a floral pattern, from a previous spring collection, around Holidays 2017. I would expect more creativity from Chanel.

The blush came out in late Sept/early Oct in Canada. Canada’s release dates tend to follow the UK’s release schedule (their Chanel products are made in France), which oftentimes is earlier than in the US (where Chanel products are made in the US).

I know it was available in France in September but I haven’t seen it online at the Bay or at Holt Renfrew. We don’t have a Chanel store in Mtl and the new launches are usually found at these two retailers (+ Murale, but you can buy only in store in their case). @chicprofile mentioned that they won’t get it in UK, although she was saying initially that they will, on December 1st. Well, no loss here as I have a dupe 🙂

So I heard that this will not be restocked online. I managed to get it at Chanel Ceasar’s though. I have an old Espiegle (and it is my absolute favorite) so it would be nice to get a new one! Thank you for your review 🙂

I picked this up through a Japanese IG follower when I realized it was sold out here in the U.S. and I didn’t want to take the chance it would not be restocked. It won’t get here for about 2 weeks but worth it to me. I don’t have the two blushes contained in this mini-palette but even if I did I would still pick this up. The floral relief is just stunning. Like kjh said, I may just open it and look at it every once in awhile or leave it open on my vanity!!

Just a head’s up Christine, Espiegle is no longer permanent – it hasn’t been for years, unfortunately (it is one of my HG, so I am acutely aware).

This is a lovely blush, but it feels like a while since Chanel has done one of the standout, unique colors that they do so well, even if it was just in the JC format. I miss the days before Lucia Pica was at the helm of development.

Mine arrived yesterday and I didn’t even take it out of the individual box. It has so much fragrance in it that the entire shipping box was perfumed. I didn’t even need to open it to tell that I wouldn’t be able to wear it. Really wish cosmetic companies would realize that so much fragrance is difficult for sensitive skin types. Sent it right back.
