Chanel Beige Dore & Noir Moderne Rouge Coco Shines Reviews, Photos, Swatches

Beige Dore (126)
Chanel Beige Dore (126) Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine ($37.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a soft gold with fine pearl and a luminous sheen. It had sheer coverage, which primarily added a little warmth to my natural lip color and a moderate shimmer and shine.
The Rouge Coco Shine formula is supposed to “soften and hydrate lips” with sheer coverage. In general, the formula has the feel of a tinted lip balm–very emollient, moderate slip, and some shine–and has a similar coverage level. The lighter shades, like this one, tend to seem even sheerer as they don’t noticeably alter the lip color. The lipstick was easy to apply, comfortable to wear when it was on, and could be re-applied without having to look into a mirror. Unfortunately, the formula was not particularly hydrating on me, and with the wear-time (an hour and a half), it’s hard to get excited for this shade.

Noir Moderne (128)
Chanel Noir Moderne (128) Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine< ($37.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a muted,d ark plum with subtle, warm undertones and a soft sheen. It had sheer coverage, but the deeper hue made it more impactful; this is the type of coverage level that can create a lot of variance in how it translates from person to person due to just how much of the natural lip color comes through, but it will likely darken your natural lip color while adding some plummy color. The consistency was balm-like, emollient, and spread easily across the lips, and I had very little color that sat in lip lines but there was a bit. This shade wore well for three hours on me and was a touch moisturizing.

Too, too sheer for my tastes or needs. If only these were as pigmented as at least a sheer UD or a MAC Lustre! But yet lasted even longer.
I hear ya! I always pass these on as soon as I’m done testing since they’re not my style.
I don’t blame you one bit, I’d do same. Someone out there might just dig a glorified lip balm in Chanel packaging!
I kind of wished Beige Dore didn’t look as good because I need it in my life 😛 CHANEL lipsticks are #lifeGoals!
Aww!
Christine, could you please recommend any eyeliners without parabens that actually work ? I have easily irritable sensitive eyes and it’s impossible to find an eyeliner that won’t smudge on me on both upper and lower water lines and I can’t step out of the house without it, but it irritates my eyes all the time. Please help me out here
Hi Madona,
Unfortunately, I can’t remember what ingredients are in what products! I would recommend going through the formulas that have rated well and looking at the list of ingredients to see if it doesn’t have what you have an issue with.
Kjh issuing another plug for Cosdna. Look up the product you are considering there. If it’s in the database, you’ll not only find out if there are parabens, but there’s a safety and acne exacerbation rating. Though most do, not all products have a complete ingredient list online. Sephora is at times an offender. Amazon is worse. But often you can get an ingredient list on the brand website, or they will disclose it to you, even if they don’t publish it.
Literaly a lip balm for that price point …my name is no, ny sign is no, my number is no, you need to let it go….
Yeah, they aren’t for everyone as they are sheerer!
I love the look of Noir Moderne but it sure does look a lot like one of the dupes you mentioned that I already have, UD Rapture. It’s a pass for me.
I like the finish of Noir Moderne!
The links for swatches aren’t working (yet.). Have a wonderful holiday, Christine. Please have enough stuff ready, so that you can take Sunday off.
That’s fun, don’t know why that’s magically broken – will text Nick now to get back on and fix that. Thanks for the heads up, KJH!
Well, I guess if I was filthy rich, I wouldn’t want to be caught dead taking a plain ol’ plastic tube of Chapstick out of my Chanel purse, oh no no no, that’s just NOT done. And I can afford to spend $ 37 for a tinted lip balm with the double C’s in an elegant case with gold trim, hahahahaha
Ooooh I was expecting something totally different from Noir Moderne! But I kinda like it.
Noir Moderne might not be bad on me.
I like sheer lipsticks, but these are too sheer for me. If they were super-moisturizing, I might consider them, but, I’ll stick with Redemption and Damage, they have a bit more to them.
I just tried this out in the store tonight and love it! I like the color without being too dark on my lips… the only drawback is that I it isn’t moisturizing enough and I would put my plumping gloss over it because I like the sensation more on my lips. But then again I tend to use plumping for all my lip color !
