Chanel Angelique (190 Joues Contraste Blush ($45.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “coral.” It’s a medium coral that leans slightly pink, but it is quite close to true coral to my eye. It had a matte finish, even when buffed and worked into the skin. I think it will a little pinker if you have naturally pink undertones. Tarte Pampered (LE, $26.00) is similar. MAC Fleeting Romance (P, $23.50) is darker. Tarte Bashful (LE, $26.00) is pinker. MAC Sideshow You (LE, $21.00) is similar. Illamasqua Flirtatious (LE, $26.00) is more orange, cream. Urban Decay Streak Blush (P) is slightly pinker. NYX Apricot (P, $5.00) is similar. Dior Corail Bagatelle (763) (LE, $43.00) is darker, pinker. MAC Autoerotique (LE, $25.00) is darker. MAC Lured to Love (LE, $27.00) is lighter. NARS Day Dream (LE, $29.00) is similar. Edward Bess Secret Affair (P, $43.00) is darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

It’s a new blush, just released with Chanel’s spring collection. If you’re unfamiliar with the formula, it’s described as a “silky” blush with “buildable coverage” and “easy application.” The texture is very silky and finely-milled, though a smidgen on the powdery side if you’re not careful. It had buildable coverage that went from semi-sheer to semi-opaque. It sits well on the skin and doesn’t look powdery or too flat, though there’s no sheen at all. The silky consistency made it easy to blend on the skin as well. This shade wore well for seven and a half hours on me before fading.

hi christine! wow!! why am i surprised of the rating?? i was going to get this for sure. i think i’ve only used chanel blushes. and, i use mine down to the pan. my favorites were rose initial (spelling??) and rose ecrin. i was very surprised about their holiday blush, caresse. but, once again, on my pale skin it did not show up! well, i know you had high reviews on tom ford blushes. i think i’m going to wait and see what tom ford and armani will be offering as well as a few others. i’m done with chanel…..for now anyway. happy holidays christine!!! xo.

I’m not sure if this is just me but I can’t see any photos of you wearing this blush, just the swatches. From what I can see I’m enjoying the fresh nature of the shade. I’ll have to test it. As much as the LE blush called to me, I wasn’t impressed by it from your review. Plus this is a better deal.

I was eyeing the blushes in the collection but they seem to be a pass. I don’t need another coral (okay, I don’t need anything). I’m so disappointed that the other one was small. If charging super pricey amounts…at least give a decent amount of product. I’m a little disappointed in Chanel. I guess I might just end up with a lipstick or eyeshadow from this collection (or save for Guerlain).
Thanks!

Not perhaps the most unique colour on the planet, but it does look super pretty on you! I like how in this one, although there is a real brightness/vividity to the colour, it doesn’t achieve it with a white base, but rather the pigment itself. Either that or Chanel are just better at blending in their white bases, LOL!

I actually picked this one up a few days after it was released, and I have to say I’m a little torn. On the plus side it’s practically fool-proof, the smell is enticing without being overpowering, the finish is the most natural I’ve seen, and the wear time is pretty good for this light of a color. It certainly isn’t without its faults though. Right now I’m definitely on the paler end of the skin spectrum (N*20 in Les Beiges) and I have a hard time building up decent pigmentation with this blush. The only time I get long-lasting color payoff is when I first use Creme de Chanel in Intonation first, then layer Angelique on top.

It’s a very nice blush if you want a natural flush of color, but for the price I feel it should at least be longer lasting. I’ve had blushes that cost 1/10th the price and last a good 2-3 hours longer.

Unfortunately, I bought this blush – in addition to the sucky Chanel eyeshadow palette I got – about a week ago. Can’t say I’m impressed. The texture just seems ‘off’ compared to my other Chanel blushes. It also doesn’t apply very well at all. The pigmentation is quite disappointing once applied.

This and the eyeshadow palette are definitely going back next week. I don’t mind spending this amount of cash on a single item *if* the quality is there, which – unfortunately – it most definitely isn’t *bleh* You’re blowing goats so far this year, Chanel.
