Tom Ford Casey, Orlando, Peter, Alasdhair Lip Colors
Tom Ford Lips & Boys Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.07 oz.) is segmented into color families, and this post features the “silver to blacks.” I don’t think that’s a very accurate description of this set of shades, though this doesn’t seem like a single family, as it is really white, brown, beige, and purple. The colors are interesting, but the performance left something to be desired with all four shades.
Casey Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a frosted white with an almost metallic sheen. It had semi-sheer pigmentation that went on unevenly and seemed to catch on imperfections I couldn’t even see (in person, at least, clearly they were there!). Applied, it lasted for two hours and was a little drying. The only way I think this one would work would be layered with other products. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Orlando Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a medium, beige-brown with warm undertones and a champagne sheen. It applies lighter than it swatches (or than it appears in the tube) with semi-opaque pigmentation. The consistency was lightly creamy but applied somewhat unevenly with some streakiness as well. It lasted for three and a half hours on me but wasn’t hydrating. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Peter Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a rosy brown with subtle, warm undertones and a golden frost. It also had semi-opaque color payoff with noticeable translucency (so the more natural pigment your lips have, the more the color will look different on you) and I could feel a slight texture element from the shimmer. It lasted for three hours and was neither hydrating nor drying. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Stavros Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.07 oz.) was reviewed here.
Alasdhair Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a cool-toned, medium-dark berry with hints of red and silver and fuchsia pearl. It had semi-opaque color coverage, where the natural lip color does come through. The consistency had a lot of slip, so while I didn’t experience feathering/bleeding myself, it’s one that I would be concerned about if you were more prone to either. The shade settled somewhat into lip lines over time, though it lasted for five hours on me. It was lightly hydrating over time. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

At $32 a pop, lipsticks really need to wow me both with the colour (which is a matter of personal preference and your own natural colouring) and with quality. These do neither. I wouldn’t pay $10 for them, let alone $32 (and considerably more in Canada).
ooops, forgot to add that Alasdhair is the big surprise here. On your lips, it looks so lovely and nothing at all like how it looks in the tube. But I’ve so many similar shades and, again, at this price-point, I need to see at least an A rating, if not an A+ and “Temptalia recommends”!
A lot of the darker shades did that – quite different on than in the tube (not a huge surprise, given that many were sheerer applied!).
Yes, at $32 they should definitely impress you!
Alasdhair is so much cooler in the tube! But it does look very nice on you.
Thank you, Helena!
They are all lovely, but definitely the lighter ones look like layering lipsticks to me. And, again, Stavros is just amazing.
Stavros is great!
Yeah, not feeling these…
A lot of misses, unfortunately!
Stavros is so beautiful! I wish it was a little more pigmented though
It would be nice if it was more pigmented!
Alashdair is more up my alley!
Yay!
I am not into frosty finished and the colors doesn’t look impressive to me either..
Bummer!
I like Peter, Stavros and Alasdhair, but I think the only one I’d get of these would be Stavros, mostly for the originality. The photos of Casey are cool – the black background makes it look as though the case/lid are made of glass with gold edging! 😀
Stavros is definitely one of my faves from the launch!
meh. Stavros is an interesting shade but all that shimmer lol
Aw!
Stavros is pretty.
Do you have any good dupe suggestions for Stavros? I’m after a greyish lipstick in that shade but the pigment is not quite as intense as I would like.
Unfortunately, all the dupes I could think of are already in the post 🙁
