Chanel Amorosa (487) Rouge Coco Shine ($36.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a muted, medium brown with warm, reddish tones and a fine gold shimmer. Tom Ford Beauty Rose Soleil (P, $50.00) is more shimmery. Bite Beauty Moka (P, $28.00) is more opaque, lighter, less shimmery. Tom Ford Beauty Blake (LE, $32.00) is darker, cooler-toned. Guerlain Air Kiss (304) (P, $37.00) is cooler-toned. NARS Bansar (P, $25.00) is less shimmery, more matte. MAC Moody Bloom (LE, $17.00) is cooler-toned. Estee Lauder Irresistible (P, $30.00) is cooler-toned, less shimmery. Tom Ford Beauty Bittersweet (03) (LE, $50.00) is darker. Bobbi Brown Plum Shimmer (3) (P, $26.00) is darker. Chanel Ambigue (124) (LE, $34.00) is more matte. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

I typically find Rouge Coco Shines to actually be drying, when it’s supposed to be a hydrating formulation with sheerer color coverage (whereas the regular Rouge Cocos have more coverage and less shine and the Rouge Allures have even more coverage and a more satin-like finish). In promos, this looked more like a taupe, and long-time readers will know that I love more unusual colors, and this one is limited edition (the other three shades in the collection are not), I figured I’d try it. It’s by no means taupe, and it behaved much like Rouge Coco Shines have in the past–two and a half hour wear and slightly drying over time. The texture is balm-like, lightweight, and glides on well, and the coverage is more semi-sheer with this particular shade, though I’d expect if you have more color in your natural lips, it’ll be hard to tell either way.

It’s a shame that they are balm-like and yet drying over time. I’ll need to steer clear which is so hard to do because they always look so pretty!

Hi Wendy! I envy you can wear Pinky Groove! It’s so beautiful! The most accurate way I can depict my lip pigment color is Rouge D’Armani 609 plum as a stain. Makes colors difficult! 🙂

Such a pretty MLBB color. I have the Guerlain Air Kiss dupe already – I was eyeing it for the longest time and finally caved. It’s the most expensive lippie I have, but I love the color, goes well with bold shadows. Also love your eye look!

This is a great shade to wear as a throw-and-go, BUT not so ultra sheer and as poorly lasting at this price point as this one!!! So I am now seriously kicking myself for not getting Moody Bloom last year….heck, my local MAC store still had this one for sale this past January! Coulda, shoulda, didn’t.

It’s actually a really pretty shade on. I thought it would be too sheer and colorless, but it works. Too bad about the formula.

Darn. I was hoping maybe you had a comparison. I love Biarritz and they discontinued it. I was hoping this might be a dupe. Thanks for trying Christine; I appreciate it!!

Love this color and texture appearance. Lipstick only wears a couple hours in me so not an issue. Looks so good on you and with your coloring.

I really like the color on you. It is very natural looking, but better. I own a few of these too. I like the shine, but the formula is not great. Also, although I like the scent of roses, I prefer not to have it on my lips

I prefer Clinique’s Color Surge Buttershine Lipstick! They’re so wonderful yet entirely underrated. They feel amazing on. Quite a fraction of the cost too! This still looks nice on you, though! 🙂 Bummer about the lack of hydration!

Oh, Christine! For over 20 years!!!! Their original slim matte lipsticks were my HG. And their blush. I bought out everything left from every department store in San Francisco in the late 90s. RECOMMEND!!!!! Would love to see you try one! 😀
