Burberry Oxblood & Black Cherry Liquid Lip Velvets Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Oxblood (53)
Burberry Oxblood (53) Liquid Lip Velvet ($34.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a deep, subdued plum with subtle, warm undertones and a cream finish. It had intense, full color coverage that applied smoothly and evenly. The liquid lipstick had a velvety, mousse-like texture that was airy and lightweight on the lips. The color spread easily across the lips, lasted for eight hours, and was non-drying over time.
The Liquid Lip Velvet formula is described as having “rich pigment, smooth application” and a “velvet finish that lasts up to eight hours” that is “non-drying.” Overall, the formula is fantastic for those who want the fluidity of a liquid product without the drying aspect of more traditional liquid lipsticks while not sacrificing wear time. The formula does not dry down completely, so there will be transfer, but the product is so pigmented that the color lasts awhile. I’ve found the colors to wear between six and eight hours and easily survive a solid meal. The liquid lipstick has a smooth, velvety consistency that is almost weightless (I forget I’m wearing it) that was never drying and always comfortable to wear. A pleasant surprise was that the formula was unscented (with no discernible taste either), which is not the norm with Burberry’s products.

PPermanent. $34.00.
Black Cherry (57)
Burberry Black Cherry (57) Liquid Lip Velvet ($34.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is dark, subdued burgundy with hints of warm, brown paired with a cream finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage, which applied decently but could have been more even. The texture felt a little thinner and had more slip than most shades in the range, though it was still thicker than most liquid lipstick formulations. The color stayed on well for six and a half hours, left a subtle pinkish stain behind, and was non-drying.

I think I want to try some of these higher end liquid lipsticks next. 😉
They are nice 😀 So long as you don’t need transfer proof, of course!
Oxblood, WOW!!!!!
It’s intense!
The frosted packaging is so misleading, you’d think these are much lighter 🙂 Both look great on you though.
Thank you!
Both of these colors are really gorgeous!
Agreed, Fran!
Ooh Oxblood is really pretty! It’s deeper than Viva Glam III and the other dupes… but the price is getting to me.
Decisions, decisions. 😛
Yeah, the price isn’t wallet friendly at all!
The iconic Oxblood shade looks smashing!
It does!
Oops, I have a lot of dupes! No joke, though.
And I REALLY love Black Cherry, but have UD Disturbed and also MAC Deep Love. What to do…I must have quite the affinity towards these dark, rich type of shades.
Sounds like you are covered 😉
Oxblood looks excellent and looks very comfortable on the lips, no wonder you’ve awarded it TR!
It is amazing!
I’ve been waiting for the review on Oxblood. Happy to see an A+! It’s a little more plummy and less red than I expected, but still a beautiful color.
It’s a great shade, Bonnie! 🙂
I am not at all a fan of liquid lipsticks, but these I would like to try. Oxblood is stunning!
They’re a more comfy take on that type of product!
