Burberry Dusty Pink, Nude, Dark Nude Lip Velvets Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Dusty Pink (406)
Burberry Dusty Pink (406) Lip Velvet Lipstick ($35.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a soft, medium pink with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had good color coverage, though it was a touch shy of being opaque, that applied evenly. The consistency glided on without tugging on my lips, but it seemed to “split” at my lip lines and look “cracked” (despite not being the type of lipstick that dries down completely!). This shade wore well for four hours and was non-drying.
The formula is described as a “bold, full coverage” lipstick with a “creamy, soft-matte finish” that is “non-drying” and “comfortable.” The lipstick formula has a very velvety consistency–waxier than a traditional cream, as it was thinner but never dragged on the lips–with good pigmentation that typically applied evenly. The one issue I experienced with most of the shades I tried (only six) was there was some color that had settled into my lip lines noticeably, whether shortly after applying or as the color wore. Most shades lasted four hours with some that lasted for six hours, and the formula was comfortable and non-drying.

Nude (407)
Burberry Nude (407) Lip Velvet Lipstick ($35.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium, rosy brown with warm undertones and a satin finish. The pigmentation was nearly opaque, so just a smidgen of my lip freckle was still visible. The texture was lightweight, thin without being clingy, and velvety as it applied smoothly. It was more forgiving on the lips with respect to my lip lines than Dusty Pink, though there was a bit of color that settled into my deeper lip lines. The color lasted for four and a half hours and was non-drying.

Burberry Dark Nude (408) Lip Velvet Lipstick ($35.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a dark, reddish plum with subtle, warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had good color coverage that applied evenly and smoothly on the lips. The formula was lightweight, velvety, comfortable to wear, and non-drying. Oh Dark Nude! Not that dark and not nude at all, but such a beautiful red!
Could be a variation on “nude” on someone with deeper skin 🙂
It would actually be a nude shade on a friend of mine – she has a very tan skin tone, and her hips (which are naturally redder) look even darker as a result.
The last 2, Nude and Dark Nude look really lovely! But of course, I’ve got dupes of both. One of which gets used a whole lot: Chanel Rouge Vie. I *may* have too many lipsticks….?
Thank goodness for dupes at this price point, though 😉
What Nancy is there such a thing of too many!!!
Dark nude is my kind of shade! Of course ;). But I suprisingly think nude would work for me!
I prefer a slightly deeper nude on me, than a lighter nude. So I think it would work!
Dark Nude is a stunning shade!
Dusty PInk is right up of my alley when it comes to nude shades! Love it and the formula seems promising!
I really like Dark Nude. I will have to check the dupes as we don’t have Burberry here, of course I could order, but at this price range I do like to try before buying.
The other lipsticks were pretty as well.
I think Dark Nude could actually be a great nude for me! I’m so glad they’ve released something more than the standard pasty chalk beige 🙂
Dark Nude is a beautiful shade…..
It is!
I’m a pale person, so Dark Nude would be red on me – still gorgeous. Might be worth looking into since I love the formula.
Ooh, dark nude is such an interesting shade! I have the feeling anyone could rock it! ?
I totally agree!
Ohhh I need Nude. What a stunning shade!
Have you tried this formula before, Asche?
No I haven’t! The only Burberry lipstick I own is from the ‘Kisses’ line. It’s one of my favourites though. I love a satin finish, so I’m eager to try this one out!
I don’t know why, but these colors are really throwing me off! The shades seem to come off a little lighter than what the tubes look like! I love all three though! Especially Dusty Pink!
Dark nude would not be a nude for me but it’s very nice. I bet it looks stunning on the most ebony of skins!
Ooh, def dark nude for the win! First item on my S fall sale list. See how you help us plan? And I don’t even have a dupe. Mmmmmm….
