#098
Bite Beauty #098 The Lip Pencil ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark purple with warm, pink undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had medium, buildable coverage (up to semi-opaque) that applied fairly evenly to lips. The consistency was smooth and just creamy enough to be able to blend the color by pressing my lips together if used all over the lips. The color wore nicely for just over six and a half hours and was non-drying. I think it would work best with Amuse Bouche shades: Eggplant (lighter, warmer), Dragonfruit (lighter, brighter) see comparison swatches.
The Lip Pencil is supposed to have “perfect, allover, opaque lip coverage” with a lightweight feel. The formula worked exceptionally well for lining the edges of the lips and keeping lipstick on longer and more within the lines (e.g. a lipstick feathers on its own wouldn’t feather when layered over one of the lip pencils). Some shades worked well for filling in the lips for all over color, but a few applied more unevenly or were less comfortable to fill in with. The consistency was soft, just barely creamy–almost more velvety than creamy–and oddly spreadable, as it was infinitely easier to even out the color by rubbing my lips together than applying more product. The formula has a lightweight feel on the lips, and the wear ranged from five to six hours for light to medium-hued shades with some of the deeper and richer shades lasting well over six hours. They will require sharpening, and as they are creamier, it was easiest to keep them in a cool place or in the freezer (for a few minutes) prior to sharpening to minimize any mess in the sharpener.

The consistency was soft, just barely creamy–almost more velvety than creamy–and oddly spreadable, as I found the best way to “even” out the coverage was to press my lips together, and while there was a touch of tackiness, the color almost always appeared more even after that than if I kept trying to maneuver and push the color around with the pencil itself. They do feel lightweight, and they lasted anywhere from five to six hours on their own. They weren’t spectacularly long-wearing as a standalone lip product, but they extended the wear of lipsticks by two to four hours.

#048
Bite Beauty #048 The Lip Pencil ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a blackened burgundy with neutral-to-warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had good pigmentation, though it wasn’t quite opaque, that might not work well for just lining the edges of the lips as it appeared lighter (redder) than it did when layered. The pencil was slightly creamy but not truly emollient, and it did not drag on the lips. This shade wore well for almost eight hours with minimal fading, though it felt drying after six hours of wear.
I think it would work best with Amuse Bouche shades: Berry Rouge (purpler), Black Truffle (darker, cooler) see comparison swatches.

Bite Beauty #046 The Lip Pencil ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark brown with warm, red-orange undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had intense, opaque color payoff that was creamy, smooth, and easy to use. The lip pencil filled in my lips with even color with little work and also did a fantastic job of just lining the edges of my lips. The color wore well for six and a half hours and was non-drying. I think it would work best with Amuse Bouche shades: Nori (darker), Maple (brighter) see comparison swatches.

#100
Bite Beauty #100 The Lip Pencil ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a deep berry with cool undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied evenly to lips, even when used for all over color. The consistency seemed creamier when initially applied compared to how it felt over time (and looked, as it did not appear shiny or creamy on). On me, the color stayed on well for eight hours and was slightly drying after six hours of wear. I think it would work best with Amuse Bouche shades: Jam (darker, warmer), Radish (lighter, brighter), Beetroot (warmer) see comparison swatches.

I need #048 or a dupe on of these days. I don’t have any dark lip liners for some reason.
I hope you can try it (or a dupe) 🙂
It’s hard to believe there really are 100 of these!
Not quite! They are only evens 😉
Because I’m a freak for purples, I am totally digging #98 and #100! I think #100 could look awesome with my brand-new tube of MAC Sí, Sí, Me, perhaps?
I think 100 would work with it!
I’m loving the purple and deep berry, I don’t usually go for colors like this but these look great and wearable.
Great choices, Betty!
048 and 100 are awesome!
