Bite Beauty #026, 028, 030 Lip Pencils Reviews, Photos, Swatches
#026
Bite Beauty #026 The Lip Pencil ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a brighter, medium-dark rosy plum with cooler undertones and a satin finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage that applied with minimal tugging. The pencil felt soft enough to line with lips comfortably, but it took a little more work to blend and even out the color once applied (it was easiest to do so by pressing and gently rubbing my lips together). This shade stayed on well for almost six hours and was a touch drying after four hours.
Bite Beauty recommends wearing this particular shade with Fig; I think it would work well with Cotton Candy (brighter, cooler), Kimchi (darker, brighter), or Gin Fizz (cooler) — see comparison swatches.
The Lip Pencil formula is supposed to have “perfect, allover, opaque lip coverage” with a lightweight feel. I think the formula worked exceptionally well for lining the edges of the lips and keeping color on longer and more within the lines (e.g. a lipstick feathers on its own wouldn’t feather when layered over one of the lip pencils). Some shades worked well for filling in the lips for all over color, but some applied more unevenly or were less comfortable to fill in with. The consistency was soft, just barely creamy–almost more velvety than creamy–and oddly spreadable, as I found the best way to “even” out the coverage was to press my lips together, and while there was a touch of tackiness, the color almost always appeared more even after that than if I kept trying to maneuver and push the color around with the pencil itself. They do feel lightweight, and they lasted anywhere from five to six hours on their own. They weren’t spectacularly long-wearing as a standalone lip product, but they extended the wear of lipsticks by two to four hours.

#028
Bite Beauty #028 The Lip Pencil ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a medium-dark plum with warm undertones and a satin finish. The consistency was a touch creamy, so it applied easily along the edges of the lips and only dragged minimally when filling in my lips entirely. It had semi-opaque color payoff that went on fairly evenly on its own, though I had to spread and even out the color with my lips afterward. The color lasted well for five and a half hours on me and was non-drying. Bite Beauty recommends wearing this particular shade with Verbena or Honeycomb; I think it would work well with Chai (warmer), Verbena (warmer), Rhubarb (cooler), or Pepper (more muted) — see comparison swatches.

#030
Bite Beauty #030 The Lip Pencil ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a soft, medium rosy plum with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied fairly evenly and smoothly to the lips. The consistency was soft, thin, and a little tacky but non-drying over the five hours it lasted. It applied evenly for the most part on its own. Bite Beauty recommends wearing this particular shade with Verbena or Pepper; I think it would work well with Rhubarb (darker), Pepper (warmer), Fig (lighter), or Sorbet (lighter) — see comparison swatches.

I keep hoping to find one close to my natural lip color but not having much luck. I’d like to be able to overdraw a little on a low makeup day without a full on lip.
Darn! 🙁
I love so much about BB lipsticks, but for some reason I have always had issues with feathering and needing to reapply way too frequently. These liners would work well with some of the colors I have, though, so I just might have to pick up a few for testing purposes!
I hope these help mitigate the feathering!
I can’t get over how ridiculously similar some of the shades in this new range are, and how they chose to go that route instead of just making matching pencils for all their actual shades
I’m new to makeup. Do these products have an expiry date?
Yes, makeup has expiration dates.
