Best & Worst of Make Up For Ever Star Lit Diamond Powders

Make Up For Ever Star Lit Diamond Powder

Make Up For Ever Star Lit Diamond Powders ($26.00 for 0.08 oz.) is a new, loose formula that can be used on eyes and face that is described as “an ultrafine, sparkling powder.” It’s more sparkly than the original Star Lit Powders, but likely much finer than the Star Lit Glitters (which I don’t have and haven’t tried before… because they look like loose glitter).

The big takeaway from these is that the ratings are lower because they are supposed to be usable alone, and some of them are more usable than others as-is but all of them significantly benefited from being used with a wet brush, tacky base, or adhesive primer/glitter glue. If you anticipate using them with some sort of fixative, I think you’ll enjoy them! Some of them have decent base pigment, so they can be layered as well as used as a more standalone product, too.

Kind of a mixed bag and no A ratings at all. I think that I can safely pass on these. I do like the burgundy one and I don’t have a lot of burgundy shadows, or what I call burgundy. I have the Ellis Faas burgundy liquid eye shadow but it is almost gone and I can’t find it on-line at Beautylish which was where I always purchased it. Don’t hear much about Ellis Faas anymore. Anyway, I am keeping my eye out for a nice burgundy shadow that scores well.

Thank you kjh!! I had googled a while ago and hadn’t had anything local (USA or easy on line) come up so glad to know I can get them at NM. The Antique Silver is my favorite silver shade with just the right tone so that it doesn’t look like garish tinsel on the eyes. I also love the shade Green Gold. I am on a no buy but will make an exception to pick up these before they decide to stop making them anymore. I also like the cream lips in the shade Red Blood, I think is the name. Will have to check.
