What was your week in review like? A tad anxious, prayer and stillness. Makeup helped to perhaps distract me from being too focused on being confined, but perhaps also wasting time I could have used elsewhere. But I do know I needed the mental break, so I’m glad for it.
Your skin tone/coloring: Light-medium to medium yellow – neutral. NC37 (Mac) & n°13 (PMG Labs)
Look you loved this week?: A green-brown look done with the Makeup Revolution Forever Flawless Chilled with cannabis sativa Palette and a mixed coral-pink lip color.
Any new or old favorites discovered?: Well the palette I mentioned was somewhat new though not my last palette purchased. Also skincare products from Origin, Filorga (rediscovered). Due to not being able to go out or trust deliveries where I am, nothing new is possible, so I look forward to rediscoveries!
Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: I’m hoping to use ND’s Safari and perhaps Metropolis since I really haven’t much.
Skin tone/coloring: Light, neutral skin tone, green eyes, s&p hair
Look you loved this week: Social Distancing Look—Benefit Precisely My Brows, Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Amethyst in crease and bottom lash line, Cover Girl Clump Crusher Mascara, Bobbi Brown Foundation stick only on forehead, RCMA No Color Powder only on forehead, mask to cover the rest of my face.
Any new or old favorites discovered: Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick, which has been gathering dust for the past year. All this stress caused a breakout, so I’ve been using this stick to camouflage it.
Any product you’re hoping to use next week? I hope to experiment with some new eye looks. Sadly, I just haven’t been motivated so far.
To add a bit of brightness to my day Seraphine, I am using a different eye palette every day to see what I can make of them. I have set up a table in Word to chart the palettes used and the shades. It’s keeping me sane at the moment.
Great idea, Genevieve!
Your skin tone/coloring: Under my name; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.
Look you loved this week?: EYES — TFSI. CP She’s a Rainbow Palette: Seeing Stars blended out with Kittenfish (crease, lower lid), Sweet Spot (inner corner), and Mary Jane (lid). ABH x Carli Bybel Palette: My Angels (outer third of lid), and Boie (brows). ABH HL in Helia (inner corner over Sweet Spot), and brow bone. UD 24/7 Eye Pencil in Perversion (upper and lower waterline). Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara. CHEEKS — AOA Pawfect Blush in Mod. FACE — NYX Angel Veil Primer; Milani Conceal + Perfect Foundation Stick in Porcelain; Bill Nye Neutral Set Powder; Sephora Colorful Contour in Tranquil; ABH Aurora Glow Kit HL in Helia; CP All Star Mattifying Setting Spray.
Any new or old favorites discovered?: New — Eleman’s Zephyr Palette. Beautiful mauves, berries, and purples. I especially love the mattes. Old — ColourPop She’s a Rainbow Palette. I hadn’t used it much, though I’m not sure why. It’s really great quality and so fun! I’ve been using it alone and with the ABH x Carli Bybel Palette. For that matter, I’m really enjoying the Carli palette. I hadn’t gotten to use it much after getting it for Christmas, but I’m loving it now, despite some of the glitters needing spray or glitter glue to work.
Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: I need some color in my life, so I’ll probably keep using the She’s a Rainbow palette, and maybe my Sydney Grace singles. I’ll probably switch back to liquid lipsticks since I’m on the phone all day at work, and try out some new ones I bought a couple months ago from Dose of Colors.
I was reading through others’ posts, and saw I forgot to put my lip color. LIPS — MAC x Nicopanda Kawaii Party.
Your skin tone/coloring: above with freckles, green/gray/blue eyes, warm brown hair.
Look you loved this week?: I did sort of a smokey spring look, using deeper pinks/berries and a sparkling olive green with a darker base. I didn’t expect for it to turn as deep as it was, but I liked it. I paired it with a peachy blush (as I do most things these days, since I’m working thru a peachy cream blush right now for my project pan) and CT Pillow Talk matte lipstick.
Any new or old favorites discovered?: Colourpop SSS in Weenie. Beautiful!!
Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: My ND Mini Retro should be in on Tuesday, so I’m very much looking forward to using that! It’s been so long that I got a new eyeshadow palette that I’m EXTRA excited for the items I ordered.
Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Look you loved this week?: I did an eye look yesterday that I ended up being very happy about. I used the Wet n’ Wild Original Comfort Zone – with the soft pewter shade on the lid, the green on the mobile lid, the darker brown nearest to the lash line and some of the peach shade in the crease. I paired it with CP’s Tea Thyme lipstick.
Any new or old favorites discovered?: Yes, I am using a different neutral eye palette or neutral shades within the colourful palettes every day to see how many different looks I can get. So far, I have used both Naked palettes and Huda’s Smokey Obessions.
Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: Next week I am hoping to use Vice 2, Stila in the Garden, Natio’s Golden Natural palette and a few more.
I adore Stila’s In the Garden palette. I wish they’d never d/c’d it (or In the Light) and that they’d kept their wonderful single shadows. Vice 2 is very dear to my heart. I should probably follow your lead and use it more.
Your skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Look you loved this week?: As I think I mentioned in the FFF, I’ve “rediscovered” Sephora Glazed Donut and MAC Illusionary/Burning Ambition for my eyes with Sephora Cappuccino to line. My Australian Gold tinted sunscreen has made its return as well (I do hope SDM restocks it, amid all the challenges of Covid19 – they only carry it seasonally). MAC Sweet Sentiment for my cheeks and Full Fuchsia on my lips – such a “happy mood” colour and who doesn’t need THAT now?
Any new or old favorites discovered?: The 2 eyeshadows – they’ve both been favourites for a long time but it’s nice to have them sort of “front and centre” now.
Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: Probably MAC Greystroke, after seeing Christine review it (though I don’t know why I’m hoping to use it – she didn’t give it a great rating either and I don’t quite know why I bought it when I did). I also want to order some Youth to the People oil for my sis in law as a birthday gift and might toss in rms beauty’s Buriti Bronzer along with it. I’m not a “bronzer” person but it looks subtle enough that I might actually enjoy it.
Skin tone/coloring: Fair light neutral
Look I loved this week:
I seem to have recently accumulated several new foundations since my Fenty Hydrating is almost empty and really loved the natural luminous look the Shiseido Synchro Self Refreshing Foundation (160) mixed with a few drops of Kosas Oil Foundation in 3.5. With all my free time, I’ve been experimenting a lot with mixes of foundation, cream contour and highlight. I just can’t seem to love a liquid/cream highlight more than CT’s Hollywood Flawless Filter
New or old favorites discovered:
I’ve been quarantine-playing with a mix of cream contour/bronzers including Chanel Soleil Tan, Huda Tantour (light), CT’s Contour Wand and then remembered I also have Anastasia BH contour stick in Fawn and have fallen back in love with how easy it is to use for sharp areas like nose and cheekbone.
A product I was hoping to use next week:
ND Retro Mini Palette. However, it’s slated to arrive in two weeks–but who knows, maybe it will arrive early!?
Your skin tone/coloring: fair/cool skin (foundation matches: Fenty Pro Filt’r 110, Urban Decay All Nighter 2.5, NARS Natural Radiant Longwear 2.0 Mont Blanc, Kevyn Aucoin The Etherealist Light EF 02, L’Oreal True Match C3 Creamy Natural), gray eyes, brown hair with red highlights and scattered blonde/blue strands
Look you loved this week?: I did a pink version of Jemma Kidd’s Boardroom Beauty look (from her book Jemma Kidd Makeup Masterclass) on Wednesday and repeated it on Thursday to see how it would look with a different top: my usual Fenty face products, NARS Satellite of Love highlighting blush, the Leo shimmer from BH Zodiac on the lid, Too Faced Pink Suede (from the Razzle Dazzle Berry palette) on top lashline and inner corner TF Dazzle (also from RDB) on browbone), YSL The Shock Rough Burgundy mascara, Maybelline SuperStay Stay Exceptional lip crayon, and Revlon Super Lustrous Frost Queen lip gloss.
Any new or old favorites discovered?: I don’t have any particular products from this week that I feel like talking about, but this extended time off work has had me dipping into some things I don’t use as often.
Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: Maybe my new Sydney Grace Enduring Love Deep palette and Pure Love blush. Since the blush is a tiny loose pan of blush inside an envelope, I’d like to find a compact to put it in before I start using either product-I don’t need the pan to snap into the compact, but I do think I need to store it in the compact for extra protection.
