Gucci Love Before Breakfast, Millicent Rose, Odalie Red Sheer Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Love Before Breakfast (403)
Gucci Beauty Love Before Breakfast (403) Sheer Lipstick ($42.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium-dark fuchsia pink with moderate, cool undertones and a natural sheen. It had medium coverage–more than true sheer coverage–that applied evenly and didn’t emphasize my lip lines. The consistency felt lightweight with enough glide to apply fluidly but didn’t feel slippery while on. It stayed on nicely for four and a half hours and felt lightly moisturizing over time.

Formula Overview
$42.00/0.12 oz. - $350.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be "moisture-rich" with a "luminous shine" that "delivers sheer color." The brand went further and described the coverage as "semitransparent color with luminous shine." The shades had semi-sheer to medium coverage, often slightly buildable, so it was enough pigment to look like something when applied but definitely let the natural lip color come through (so your mileage may vary if you have more pigmented lips than I do).
The texture was lightweight, thin but not clingy, and had a light creaminess to it; the formula didn't feel as luminous as it looked, which was a good thing as it prevented the product from sliding around too readily. The most impressive part was that most shades applied evenly and didn't settle into my lip lines initially nor over time. The wear time was as expected, but it was shorter than more pigmented and less shiny formulas; most shades lasted between three and four hours. The formula felt lightly hydrating but not what I'd call "moisture-rich."
They have a moderate, sweet floral scent (the brand says "floral fragrance with violet notes and a soft, fruity scent"), and I felt like I occasionally could taste the fragrance, though it was a lot less noticeable and present compared to Gucci's original lipstick range (many years ago). I could definitely smell the scent with the product applied, so it was stronger than some formulas where the scent is only noticeable in the packaging/tube.

Millicent Rose (406)
Gucci Beauty Millicent Rose (406) Sheer Lipstick ($42.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium pink with subtle, cool undertones and a natural sheen. It had medium to semi-opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which applied somewhat evenly but had slight streaking along the edges of my lips.
There also seemed to be very minute settling into my deeper lip lines in the close-up photos but not something I could detect in person. The texture felt lightweight, thin but not clingy, and was comfortable to wear. It lasted well for four hours and felt lightly hydrating while worn.

Odalie Red (500)
Gucci Beauty Odalie Red (500) Sheer Lipstick ($42.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium-dark coral-orange with strong, warm undertones and a natural sheen. The pigmentation was medium in a single layer, which was buildable to semi-opaque coverage, but it seemed more pigmented than described (which may not be a deal-breaker for some!).
The texture felt lightweight, like a thinner balm without too much slip, so it applied comfortably but didn’t slide around while worn. I noticed this shade seemed more prone to emphasizing lip texture than others. It stayed on well for four hours and felt lightly moisturizing over time.

These are making it hard to pick just one that I truly love! Love Before Breakfast is a pinky fuchsia that I think I could wear and still look okay in. It’s not too, too cool toned.
If I look at Odalie Red vs YSL Orange Speaker, I can readily see that Orange Speaker has way more superior application, yet I really do love the tone of Odalie Red.
I think all three of these are very pretty. Not $42 pretty for me, but I’m going to check out the dupes.
I forgot to say how much I like the vintage-looking packaging. It reminds me of lipsticks my mom had when I was a little girl.
Love these lipsticks more than I can say. In this group, the only color that would work for me is “Love Before Breakfast” though.
Odalie Red is a lovely orangey red shade. I quite like it.
