Oh Smoothie Love, the temptation is real. I must be strong!! There are so many things on this list that I am lusting after and it will be a real win if I manage to resist the temptation.
Your skin tone/coloring: Under my name; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.
Favorite look from the week: I’ve not done much with makeup this week. My best look was a two-color eye look using the Huda Beauty Nude Obessions Palette in Light, and light peach blush. On my lips, I wore Milani Dulce Caramelo topped with MAC Lipglass in Counting Stars.
Your most used product this week: My usual dailies
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): The above lip combination is my new favorite nude lip.
Coloring: Under my name, green eyes, s&p hair
Favorite Look:
EYES—ColourPop Night Owl palette (Bel Air in crease, Rockin’ Robin on outer V, Lil Birdie on brow bone) plus MAC Grain on lid. Marc Jacobs Highliner in Brownie under outer third of lower lash line, ColourPop Precision Brow Colour gel in Cool Cocoa, and Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara.
FACE—Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup, Lancôme Effacernes Waterproof Concealer, RCMA No Color Powder, NARS Orgasm Blush.
LIPS—MAC Love Me Lipstick in Tres Blasé
Most Used Products:
Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup, Lancôme Effacernes Waterproof Concealer, RCMA No Color Powder.
Beauty Discovery:
I have come to the conclusion that every eyeshadow palette, no matter what the color scheme, should have MAC Grain (or an exact dupe) in it. ?
Isn’t Grain a great shadow? It had been on my “back burner” for years and then when MAC dropped their pro pan shadow prices a few years ago, I got it and quickly discovered that I shouldn’t have waited so long (except, of course, that the better price point made it so much more appealing).
Your skin tone/coloring: above with freckles, green/gray/blue eyes, warm brown hair.
Favorite look from the week: I did a look using the ABH Sultry palette with my Nars Skin Deep palette to REALLY deepen it up. I just wanted an excuse to put the shade Cyborg from Sultry all over my lid. That’s such a special shade. Paired it with my Hourglass Ambient Light Ghost Unlocked palette and Revlon Ultra HD Vinyl Lip Polish in Date Night and it was a really lovely, cool-toned, smokey neutral look.
Your most used product this week: L’Oréal 24H Fresh Wear Foundation and my Hourglass Ghost Unlocked palette.
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): I noticed that when foundation stops laying nicely on my skin, it’s usually time to do some sort of clay mask to really clean things out.
I love Cyborg too – it’s very hard to find that kind of shade anywhere. You whole look sounds lovely Celesta.
Skin tone/coloring: Fair/Neutral
Favorite look from the week: haven’t done much; been waiting for eye irritation to fade following a reaction sadly.
Most used product this week: Clio Kill Cover Pink Cream cushion foundation — my new love.
Beauty discoveries: I found a local store which sells a few K Beauty brands and picked up a wonderful Clio Veil lip tint. They retail for higher than Yesstyle/other online shops but it’s awfully convenient.
Skin tone / Neutral hair golden brown / eyes brown
Fav look? Channel holiday shadows with Hourglass Mood Exposure and Buxom Full Force Plumping lipstick in “Triple Threat.”
New Discovery?
Zoeva Eyeshadow Palette In “Caramel Melange”
Your skin tone/coloring: Fair neutral/preferring cool
Favorite look from the week: The one I did today! Dominique Cosmetics’ Celestial Storm on my eyes – Astrid Lust & Lucid Dream in my crease and on my lower lash line, and concealer on the lid with Electric Amethyst on top of it. If I had had more time I would’ve used Poison Plum on the last line. Then Infinite Flush from the Ghost Hourglass quad and Holographic Pink gloss from Dior on the lips.
Your most used product this week: Kush Brow Gel or Ghost Quad
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): the Karity brushes are at CVS and I was able to snag two for like $6! The E31 is a good blowout crease brush, and I haven’t tried the E30 yet but I’m planning to tomorrow
Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Favourite look from the week: Yesterday’s one using Lancome’s Jade Fever palette – soft white gold on the lid, lighter green shimmer on the lower lid and a darker forest green in the crease. Paired it with the Foolish lipstick by CP.
Your most used product this week: All my staples
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): That I am enjoying using my old(er) eye palettes.
Your skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Favorite look from the week: probably a very simple look I’ve been using a lot lately – from UD’s Born to Run palette, Stranded on inner 1/3 of lid, Drift on outer 2/3’s and Riff lightly in the crease and faded a bit upward; Sephora Cappuccino liner, UD Rapture blush (pulled this out recently from its warm weather resting spot), either Smashbox Legendary or UD Love Drunk on lips
Your most used product this week: Elizabeth Arden lip primer (makes Love Drunk a real winner for me) and, as almost always, the Sephora Cappuccino liner (I am so boring!)
Any beauty discoveries…oh yeah!!!! I got a sample of UD’s Perversion mascara and I love it. I often don’t bother with mascara and I’ve only tried this twice but may actually purchase the full size. I was surprised to read the very poor reviews this received on Makeup Alley so maybe I should give it a bit more time. ALSO – I completely forgot about what used to be my favourite night cream – Eucerin Q-10!!!! I’d finished a jar and moved on to Embryolisse and Astral creams along with some “sleeping masks” and totally forgot about the Eucerin stuff, of which I have 2 or possibly 3 unopened jars. I opened one the other night and rediscovered just how much I love this stuff!
Perversion is one of my favorite mascaras.
Reading this makes me feel better, Rachel! Like I wrote, I was surprised by how poorly it rated at MUA, the other site, in addition to Temptalia, that I rely on for information on new products. Also, because mascara’s not a big deal for me, I tend to go “cheap” (L’Oreal’s original Voluminous) except for Clarins Be Long, which I do like. I feel better about planning to purchase the full size now, having seen your “thumbs up”.
Your skin tone/coloring: Deep with neutral undertones.
Favorite look from the week: None tbh I did not have the time so it was a no makeup makeup week.
Your most used product this week: ginger eyeshadow in the jackie aina and abh palette.
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): None
Your skin tone/coloring: fair/cool skin (foundation matches: Fenty Pro Filt’r 110, Urban Decay All Nighter 2.5, NARS Natural Radiant Longwear 2.0 Mont Blanc, Kevyn Aucoin The Etherealist Light EF 02, L’Oreal True Match C3 Creamy Natural), gray eyes, brown hair with red highlights and scattered blonde/blue strands
Favorite look from the week: Wednesday, inspired by a look from British MUA Gary Cockerill’s book Simply Glamorous: Fenty Amber Match Stix as cheek contour, Fenty Pro Filt’r 110 Instant Retouch concealer and Soft Matte foundation, Tarte Amazonian Clay Paaarty blush, Huda Beauty Amethyst Obsessions 8 all over lid, UD Jilted in crease, YSL The Shock Rough Burgundy mascara, and ChapStick Total Hydration Moisture + Tint Merlot lip balm topped with Marc Jacobs Enamored Love Buzz lipgloss.
Your most used product this week: I’ve been using the Huda Gemstone Obsessions palettes-the original and all the single-stone palettes except Topaz-a lot lately because they’re slim and I can use them quickly, which is especially important on work mornings.
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): I continue to love doing looks where my eyeshadow, mascara, lipstick, and top are all either red or pink-it just looks very polished.
